Apocalypse - Infinite Resource System
Chapter 473: The Revenge Begins
"Waldo is still alive? Can’t be true, right? Sword Bone and two other level four beings couldn’t kill him, a mere level three trialist? No, I don’t understand!"
A handsome trialist with faint blue eyes furrowed his brows, his gaze flickering, lost in thought.
He had been looking forward to Waldo’s death.
Not long ago, he had mocked Waldo, claiming that his death was certain.
He even provided some information about Waldo to the three-eyed natives.
If Waldo didn’t die after all this, wouldn’t that be a direct slap in his face?
But that was the lesser concern.
What was most important was that he hadn’t forgotten Waldo’s words – if he survived, he would seek revenge at all costs.
Thinking of Waldo’s terror and madness...
Cole shuddered uncontrollably:
"Waldo, that man is a madman!!!"
Cole, just a level two trialist, stood no chance against Waldo.
At that moment, he suddenly shivered again.
He felt a chill, as if something ominous was approaching.
"What’s happening?"
Cole’s heart raced, and he quickly scanned his surroundings.
However, he didn’t find anything unusual.
"Damn it, I’m getting paranoid! No matter what, Waldo is doomed, no one can save him!"
It was ridiculous to fear a man who was certain to die!
Then, Cole shifted all his attention to the chat channel.
He closely followed all news regarding Waldo...
Time ticked by, second by second.
Yet, there was no news of Waldo’s death.
Some trialists close to the battle zone revealed that the area had gone quiet.
Could the battle have ended just like that?
Impossible!
How could it end so easily if Waldo wasn’t dead?
Despite the calm surroundings, it seemed like there was no imminent danger.
However, no trialist dared to venture and investigate.
Not to mention the monsters roaming everywhere, just the two merciless, three-eyed natives alone made countless trialists run and hide.
Approaching the battlefield to gather intelligence...
Wasn’t that just asking for a longer life?
...
Quickly, ten hours passed.
Still, no news came.
The world was quiet, with no signs of battle.
The system also showed that Waldo was still alive.
This was strange...
"How could this be? Why haven’t the three-eyed natives killed Waldo yet?"
"This doesn’t make sense! It’s almost a day now, still no conclusion, it’s outrageous! A level four being killing a level three trialist, shouldn’t that be easy and casual?"
The trialists felt very puzzled.
They thought of many possibilities.
But, those were just speculations!
"Is there a possibility that Waldo isn’t dead, but the two level four natives are?"
A trialist suddenly voiced this thought.
However, as soon as these words were spoken, they were immediately drowned out by the criticism of many trialists.
Especially Cole, who sharply retorted: "That guess is too childish, completely lacking logical thinking!"
"Before you speak, please use your brain and think a bit. One is a level three trialist, the other side has two level fours... Do you know how big the gap between them is? It’s like heaven and earth, like clouds and mud!"
"Now, you’re saying Waldo killed the three-eyed natives... Are you sure you’re not talking nonsense?"
No one agreed with this bold speculation.
And that was a fact.
Anyone with a bit of sanity wouldn’t believe that Waldo could turn the tables on the three-eyed natives.
The trialist who made the guess felt incredibly wronged.
Just making a speculation, he faced such fierce criticism.
Immediately, he logged off, feeling disheartened.
Before leaving, he couldn’t help but say, "You don’t believe it, fine, but that’s my guess. Let’s see what happens. I hope it turns out to be a slap in the face..."
...
Seeing the other’s words, Cole snorted in disdain.
"Trying to make me eat my words? Doesn’t he think, how could a level three trialist turn the tables?"
Cole sneered repeatedly.
But, for some reason, at this moment, the unease in his heart grew stronger.
It felt as if a great crisis was about to descend.
"Something’s not right, why do I feel this way? This isn’t normal!"
Cole’s expression showed hesitation and confusion.
Then, his eyes suddenly widened in terror!
Looking ahead in disbelief!
Somehow, a figure had abruptly appeared in his safe house.
"Who are you?!"
Cole was incredibly alarmed and angry, standing up swiftly.
The next moment, his body suddenly stiffened...
"Die!"
A cold voice echoed in his ear.
In an instant, his soul seemed to freeze!
Pfft!
Finally, Cole only had time to see the spear thrust towards him.
He wanted to dodge.
But his body was frozen in place, unable to move.
Until the spear pierced through his body, leaving a huge bloody hole!
Just before dying, Cole’s eyes widened in disbelief at his killer.
"You’re Waldo!"
He naturally recognized Waldo’s face.
That’s why he was so incredulous!
Waldo?
Wasn’t he being hunted by the three-eyed natives?
Why was he here?
Too many questions, with no answers.
The next moment, he was breathless.
"This is the first, and definitely not the last!"
"I keep my word, those who sold me out to the three-eyed natives, I will find each one of them!"
Waldo glanced at the now silent corpse of the trialist on the ground and snorted coldly.
Then, he teleported away.
He leaped up, the wind howling around him, heading into the distance.
...
In a series of undulating mountains, there were many piles of bones.
This place seemed to be a valley of death, with pale bones and a deep, cold chill.
Eerie sounds occasionally echoed, reaching far-off places.
Among the mountains, there was only one small cabin.
It appeared to be a simple wooden hut made of ordinary timber, quite ordinary.
Due to its long existence, it faintly emitted a rotting smell, as if it was about to collapse.
However, that wasn’t the case!
This was a safe house.
"It shouldn’t be like this! Two days have passed, and Waldo is still not dead! Could it be that person guessed right, did Waldo actually turn the tables on the three-eyed natives?"
"But, how is that possible?!"
Inside the safe house, a strong man with two horns on his head mumbled to himself.
He exuded a fierce and domineering aura, quite extraordinary.
Like an ancient ferocious beast.
Anyone appearing here would feel a terrifying presence that made their heart race.
At that moment, another trialist nearby said, "I think it’s impossible, the gap between a level three trialist and level four natives is too big, Waldo couldn’t possibly win."
"I’m wondering if Waldo used some kind of trick to make the three-eyed natives think they killed him?"
"We all know that Waldo has the ability to create duplicates. If he used this ability to avoid being hunted, it’s not impossible..."
