"Alright, I know you need their special organs as Biological Material for synthesis. But before you take them, could you let us take a few photos and extract some tissue samples?"

Lin Feng nodded. He saw no problem with it and was actually very supportive.

With the agreement made, Qin Hu handed his adjutant Chen Shu’s Tiger-toothed Chainsaw Sword to Lin Feng. He then patted Chen Shu on the shoulder and instructed him in a serious tone:

"You head back first. Take three regular Awakeners to escort you out of here. Make sure that glowing fungus gets to the Research Institute safely..."

"I’m sure they’ll be very interested in this thing. We should be able to get a lot of good stuff for it."

Chen Shu nodded.

"Don’t worry, Captain. I’ll get a good price for it."

Qin Hu swore under his breath, then picked three regular Awakeners whose conditions were deteriorating to escort Chen Shu out of the Underground Zerg Nest.

As a Genetically Modified Warrior, Chen Shu was more than capable of protecting himself. Sending three others with him served two purposes. First, it removed members who were becoming a liability, which would increase the group’s travel speed within the Wormhole since they wouldn’t have to worry about protecting them. Second, by successfully extracting four people, even if the rest of the team met a terrible fate, the Thirteenth Division would still have four living Tier Two Awakeners to help defend against the Zerg Race’s invasion.

Before leaving, Chen Shu took off his backpack and handed it to Lin Feng.

The backpack contained a spare fuel tank at the bottom, as well as new replacement sawteeth. There were fifty of them in total, each weighing ten kilograms, for a total of five hundred kilograms.

Lin Feng took the heavy backpack, slung it over his shoulder, and inserted the fuel Hose into the rear slot on the Chainsaw Sword’s hilt.

He then watched as Chen Shu and the others retraced their steps to leave the Hive.

Seeing his subordinates depart, Qin Hu took a deep breath. He stood and looked at his nine remaining team members. Including himself, that made ten. Inside the twenty-meter-wide tunnel entrance, they could form a solid defensive line. With Lin Feng joining them, the squad’s strength rose to another level.

So, he prepared to continue exploring the other Zerg Race tunnels in search of new Tier Two Zergs.

Meanwhile, Lin Feng stared at the Chainsaw Sword in his hand, his eyes shining as he studied it for a long while.

Tiger-toothed Chainsaw Sword LV 23/29, Orange Quality

Upgrade Points: 2/10, Durability: 8/10, Single Saw Damage: 300

Note: When activated, the chainsaw deals 1500 Damage per second. For every ten seconds of dealing effective Damage, Durability decreases by one point. Damage is reduced as Durability decreases. Durability can be restored by replacing the sawteeth.

Note: Can currently be bound as your third piece of equipment.

’It seems the specific Level of each Tiger-toothed Chainsaw Sword is different. The one Qin Hu has is probably the strongest. The final Level of the weapon must be related to the Level of the Tiger Spine Zerg used to craft it.’

’The hardness and strength of the Giant Mandibles from the three stages of Tier Two—early, middle, and late—increase sequentially.’

’Fortunately, once I bind it as equipment, I can keep upgrading it by killing Zergs. It’ll make up for my weakness in close combat.’

Lin Feng didn’t hesitate any longer and chose to bind it.

The next moment, deep in the gloomy Underground Wormhole, a faint Orange Light flashed from the Tiger-toothed Chainsaw Sword. Instantly, the slightly worn sawteeth were restored to pristine condition.

More detailed data immediately appeared in Lin Feng’s vision:

Tiger-toothed Chainsaw Sword LV 23/29, Orange Quality

Upgrade Points: 2/10, Durability: 10/10, Basic Damage: 300

Extra Attributes: Rapid Cutting (The sawteeth rotate five times per second, dealing five times the Basic Damage).

’So the rotation speed of this handheld chainsaw is 300 RPM. No wonder it deals five times the Damage in a single second.’

’Even a Tank Flame Beetle wouldn’t last more than two or three seconds before being sliced in half.’

’It’s incredibly effective against targets with a High Armor Value.’

’Unfortunately, the Mother Empress’s Spiritual Attribute is just too powerful. At close range, even a Tier Two Late Stage Awakener can barely withstand her Spiritual Attacks, let alone get close enough for melee combat with a Tiger-toothed Chainsaw Sword.’

’But just because other Awakeners can’t do it doesn’t mean I can’t. My Spiritual Attribute Value has already broken through to the Tier Three level, making me a Half-Step Tier Three Awakener...’ 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎

’If I kill a few more Spiritual Element Zergs, or maybe find the Ling Yi Mother Empress and "borrow" some of her clones, I can push my Spiritual Attribute even higher. Then I should be able to withstand the Mother Empress’s Divine Power.’

’Then I can take a Level 29 Tiger-toothed Chainsaw Sword, go straight for a headshot on the Mother Empress, and deal ten thousand Critical Strike Damage!’

"Hey!"

Qin Hu’s soft call snapped Lin Feng out of his pleasant fantasy. He looked at the dark, oppressive Wormhole before him, got to his feet, and started moving, a Level 29 Electromagnetic Cannon in one hand and the Level 23 Tiger-toothed Chainsaw Sword gripped tightly in the other.

The Third-Level Hive they had scouted earlier was just a common Zerg Race barracks with no new Tier Two Zergs. They needed to keep searching for another Hive.

Qin Hu walked at the head of the formation, striking up a conversation with Lin Feng, who was beside him.

"According to the Research Institute, who used some kind of signal-tagging method, the Zerg Race’s underground nests have a structure just like an ant or termite colony. It’s divided into three levels. The Third-Level Hive is the highest one, located over a hundred meters deep and spanning three to four square kilometers. It usually functions as a barracks or a staging ground for the Zerg armies."

"We just scouted one. The caverns can be over thirty meters high, and the ceilings are reinforced with some kind of viscous Zerg saliva, making them incredibly sturdy. Small explosions won’t even make them collapse."

"As for the Second-Level Hives, they’re more than two hundred meters underground and can be up to ten square kilometers in area. They’re massive, and they serve as hatching grounds for Zerg Eggs and nurseries for the larvae."

"The deepest is the First-Level Hive, probably somewhere between five hundred meters and a kilometer deep. We believe this is the Zerg’s main Nest, where the Mother Empress resides."

"It might also be the hidden place where Tier One Black Spine Zergs and Cyan-winged Zergs pupate to evolve into Tier Two Zergs."
