Armed Train in the Apocalypse
Chapter 509 - 316: Reunion_2
His partner rolled over and said excitedly.
"Holy shit! For real?"
"Just listen for fun. Right, where’s the armed train now?"
The first observer raised his binoculars and activated his Ability as he looked, "Already at Chenxi Square. The speed is slow as hell, but that firepower is vicious. Not worse than the army at all."
"What’s the use of vicious, with this many zombies there’s definitely gonna be a Lord Level born. They didn’t prepare jack shit and just dove straight in. Tsk tsk, they’re probably screwed. The gap in intel isn’t something a bit of supplies can make up for, that stuff gets you killed."
The observer said with relief, "Luckily the higher-ups in Deep Blue Data still have a bit of conscience and didn’t plant data collectors in these small factions."
"No kidding."
...
...
Inside the Iron Wall of Chenxi Square, the corpses piled like mountains tumbled down with a crash, revealing the brutal scene beneath.
On the flat ground of Chenxi Square, bodies were piled nearly a meter high, and near the edge of the hotel it had reached a terrifying height of over ten meters.
At the very center, more than a dozen colossal Tier Two Zombies were locked in place by steel like statues, their bodies covered in hideous gunshot wounds, burns, and torn gashes.
Liang Kuan, drenched in blood, sat at the edge of the Iron Wall while Pang Tu was helping him treat the through-and-through wound on his arm.
Mountain Goat, Mongoose and the other officers were down below, commanding the soldiers in battle.
Jiang Rong, who had originally been awkwardly standing around not knowing what to do, had also been kicked down there by He Jie.
Li Xinlong and the people from Black Star had not joined the battle.
First, they were pretty drained; even if they went down, they wouldn’t be able to help much.
Second, they were weaker, and they had no coordination with the train. If they went down they’d only mess up the soldiers’ combat rhythm; better to stay here and watch.
The Armed Corps’ way of fighting instantly opened Black Star’s eyes.
Watching his old lady below, leading four or five non-Tier Evolver soldiers and slaughtering Tier One Zombies like chickens, Li Xinlong felt like he’d opened the door to a whole new world.
He couldn’t help comparing in his heart.
’That guy with the guns fights kinda like me, but those two pistols are actually firing faster than my rifle.’
Then He Jie’s irritable roar came from his ear.
"Lu Xiao, are you down there fucking dancing?! Still twirling your guns—how about you lift your goddamn leg and twirl the one between your legs too?!"
Li Xinlong’s mouth twitched, then he saw the newly acquainted Mongoose literally stepping on zombies’ heads as she rushed inward. Every step made his heart jump; he was scared she’d fall into the corpse tide, but she dodged every attack with agile ease, then drove a claw straight through a Tier One Earth Ghost hiding behind the others!
That thrilling scene made Li Xinlong blurt out a cheer.
"Nice!"
But the raging bear beside him was already cursing, "Qu Hang, your adjutant’s down there, and you’re still hiding like some sewer rat. Who the fuck’s supposed to command them, Xiaoba? Or me?!"
Then Li Xinlong saw that sniper who had blown off the Tier Two Butcher’s head with one shot sling his heavy sniper rifle and jump down, taking over command.
Li Xinlong shut his mouth awkwardly.
He decided he’d rather die than speak again.
In the field, the last Tier Two Night Demon suddenly leaped onto the Iron Wall beside them, climbing upward with both hands and feet.
Spikes shot out all over the Iron Wall, wrapping toward the Night Demon like thorns.
Liang Kuan, who had just finished getting bandaged, stood up and drew the shield he’d been sitting on.
Li Xinlong saw the burly man walk to the edge where the Night Demon was about to break through, then step off into free fall with the shield in hand.
One going up, one coming down.
The two closed in at a terrifying speed.
"Old Liang, leave that thing a breath!"
He Jie shouted.
Liang Kuan paused for a moment, then as the Night Demon’s claws swung up, he twisted his body, stomped on a protruding metal block, and flipped the shield in his hand, violently cleaving it into the wall.
"Boom!"
The huge impact echoed through the entire Chenxi Square.
The Tier Two Night Demon howled, dropped its severed leg, and continued to climb upward.
On the hotel rooftop, He Jie let out a feral grin, hefted the anti-air machine gun and raked it in a wild burst, knocking the Night Demon down before roaring, "Xiaoba, Lin Jin, Old Liang, you three are not allowed to make a move. The rest of you, finish it! Whoever gets the kill gets a reward!"
"Anyone who slacks off can wash my socks for a month!"
He finished, pulled out a fresh cigar, scraped it hard along the red-hot barrel, then tossed the empty gun to a recruit beside him. Just as he was about to take a nice long drag, he saw an officer below make a command error.
He was so pissed he almost jumped, opening his mouth to let loose a barrage of curses.
"Tier Two Zombies have corpse armor, regular rifles can’t penetrate. Isn’t that a bit too hard for them?"
Li Xinlong couldn’t help asking from the side.
He Jie snorted, "What the hell do you know, kid? If we don’t crank up the difficulty now, what happens when they run into this later? Just stand there and get butchered?"
Li Xinlong looked at the soldiers below with their iron fighting will, his eyes full of envy.
If he had a few dozen of these—no, even just a squad—Black Star could use them as its core to rise up in Zhijin.
He had no confidence about beating Black Kite, but steamrolling forces like Jinfeng would be easy.
"On the train, are there a lot of Tier One Evolvers?"
Li Xinlong asked.
"How old are you?"
"Uh, nineteen."
"Your mom’s my subordinate, and my surname’s He."
He Jie flicked his ash and said meaningfully.
Li Xinlong froze, not understanding what he meant, but Pang Ke beside him did. He rummaged in Old Yang’s pocket, fished out half a pack of cigarettes, and grinned as he handed it over, "Uncle He, I’m Zhang Ke. Ah Long and I grew up together..."
Li Xinlong hurriedly followed suit and called him Uncle He.
He Jie took the cigarette and laughed, "This chubby kid’s got good sense. Since you’re all our own people, this doesn’t really count as a secret. I can tell you—there are over twenty Tier One Evolvers in the Corps."
"Uncle He, can you tell me about my mom?"
This time Li Xinlong had learned his lesson.
He Jie scratched his head, "It’s not that I don’t want to tell you, it’s just that your mom got on the train earlier than I did..."
He’d just said a couple of sentences when he suddenly looked up and grinned, "Someone better suited to introduce her is here."
...
On the other side, the armed train packed with ammunition was pushing toward Zhijin’s urban area at a slow but unyielding speed.
By the time only the last glow of sunset remained, it had already approached the Iron Wall held by He Jie and the others.
Along the way, more than two hundred thousand zombies had been blasted and crushed under the guns and treads.
By the time the train neared the Iron Wall, the fighting inside had completely ended. The soldiers turned their muzzles toward the outer wall, intercepting the zombies pouring out from inside Zhijin City.
The Iron Wall facing the train opened a huge gap, allowing the train to drive inside.
Mountain Goat directed several squads to clear the zombies hanging off the train.
Inside the train, the battle group led by Lao San also came out.
He Jie led Li Xinlong and the others as they jumped down and headed straight for the train. Xiaoba, Jiang Rong, Lin Jin and the other senior officers were all gathering at the front of the locomotive. Li Xinlong could feel from everyone—and from his own mom—that tempering of the battlefield

Electromagnetic Rail Cannon "Thunder God-7" – appearance and specs
Appearance description
This electromagnetic rail cannon looks like a futuristic steel ballista, with a streamlined matte-black finish. The barrel is 9.8 meters long, 2.4 meters high, and 1.5 meters wide. Two gallium nitride–coated rails extend in parallel, their surfaces covered with fine discharge patterns like a metal spine struck by lightning over and over. The gap between the rails is 50 millimeters wide, with superconducting electromagnetic coils embedded inside. When powered, they emit a faint, cold blue glow.
