Back to the 1980s: Becoming the Villain's Lucky Wife
Chapter 183: If You’re Jealous, Just Say So, I Won’t Laugh at You
Lin Nian hadn’t wanted to deal with her sister in the first place. She just planned to treat the mother and daughter to a meal and get them out of her hair as quickly as possible. But then, Lin Yue’s daughter, Xiao Ni, saw Little Fatty and Qin Shi eating chocolate by the door and ran right up to snatch it.
She didn’t dare try to snatch from the tall and sturdy-looking Little Fatty, so she went for the candy in Xiao Shi’s hands instead. Of course, Xiao Shi wouldn’t let her and dodged away. Little Fatty, standing beside them, got pretty angry and gave Xiao Ni a push.
The little girl didn’t actually fall; she just stumbled back a couple of steps. But since she knew she wasn’t getting the candy, she plopped down on the ground and started to roll around, crying and screaming. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶
Lin Nian didn’t recognize Xiao Shi at first. Xiao Shi had gotten a little chubbier and fairer, and besides, Lin Nian had only seen her a few times.
She was extremely irritated now and had no desire to stand up for her niece. Lin Yue, on the other hand, saw what happened and immediately flew into a rage. She rushed over, swept her daughter into her arms, and started cursing at Xiao Shi and Little Fatty.
"Whose kids are these? So wicked and heartless! Why would you hit someone? You motherless brats!"
You see, this Lin Yue looked like a gentle and honest person. She was hardworking and uncomplaining with her husband’s family, and she was meek with her own. But when she thought her daughter was being bullied, she could actually become quite fierce.
Qin Jiao knew, however, that all of Lin Nian’s sisters were spineless, bullied relentlessly by both their in-laws and their own family.
’What’s so tough about yelling at kids here?’
Jin Lan Hua, who was a few steps behind, heard this and flew into a fury. When it came to being feisty, no one on this street could compare to Boss Jin.
So, when Jin Lan Hua saw Lin Yue about to push her son and Xiao Shi, she charged forward and sent a slap flying across her face.
"You dare touch my kids? I’ll rip your damn mouth off! Who are you calling wicked? Who are you calling motherless?"
Lin Yue was the type to bully the weak and fear the strong. Seeing Jin Lan Hua with her gold necklace and sturdy build, she immediately chickened out, pulling her daughter back several steps.
Xiao Ni wailed in her arms.
Qin Jiao walked over to Xiao Shi’s side. "Xiao Shi, are you okay?"
"I’m fine, Sis. She demanded chocolate from me and Little Fatty. When we said no, she tried to push us. We just pushed her back a little. She’d already regained her balance, but then she just sat on the ground and started crying."
Xiao Shi calmly recounted the whole story from beginning to end.
Qin Jiao stroked her hair and said, "Mm, I understand. It’s okay."
Over on the other side, Lin Yue was on the verge of being scared to tears by Jin Lan Hua. Lin Nian, feeling embarrassed, hadn’t wanted to get involved, but she changed her mind when she saw Qin Jiao.
She cleared her throat and said, "Qin Jiao, we’re all acquaintances here, and this is just kids playing around. Let’s not argue, okay?"
The feisty Jin Lan Hua was about to grab Lin Yue’s hair, but she turned to ask Qin Jiao, "You know them?"
"I know this one. She’s in my class and we often butt heads. I don’t know the other woman and the kid."
Jin Lan Hua understood. She turned to the three of them and said rudely, "From now on, the lot of you are banned from my restaurant! Now get the hell out of my sight, you’re an eyesore!"
Lin Yue was terrified. She grabbed her small bag, held her daughter, and left. But she didn’t go far, stopping by a lamppost to call out to Lin Nian.
Lin Nian’s face flushed red, then went pale. She couldn’t believe Qin Jiao would be so disrespectful.
She shot Qin Jiao a vicious glare and said, "Qin Jiao, I can’t believe how petty you are! You’re first in our class now, top ten in the whole school. So many people treat you well these days. What more could you possibly be unhappy about?"
"Lin Nian, are you sick in the head? You nearly got me expelled back then. Isn’t it normal for me to resent you? The fact that I haven’t scratched up that face of yours is already me being incredibly generous. Besides, I do well in my studies, and my classmates and teachers treat me well because I’m outstanding. It’s what I’ve earned. If you’re jealous, just say so. I won’t laugh at you."
