Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife
Chapter 1633 - 1634: Each Has Their Own Plans
Cheng Su had made up her mind about the matter, and it was unlikely to change. She told her family about her decision, not to seek their advice, but merely to inform them.
Having known her for a long time, not to mention Mother Qi, who had experienced her decisiveness firsthand, even Cheng Su’s biological parents, Father Cheng and Mother Cheng, knew that when she said she wanted to open a Seafood Shop, it wasn’t just idle talk. Given her personality, it was impossible for the plan to be shelved.
Father Cheng glanced at his in-laws and said, "It’s not enough for you to decide this on your own. You need to discuss it with Taiguo. A married couple should discuss things together and cannot act independently."
He was trying to pre-emptively address any dissatisfaction from the in-laws.
Cheng Su understood her father’s intentions. Even if he hadn’t said it, she would have discussed it with Qi Taiguo. After all, it’s about starting another business in Guangcheng. She said, "This idea came about after seeing a business opportunity. Of course, I’ll discuss it with him before taking any action."
Upon hearing this, Father Qi and Mother Qi felt a bit more at ease. If the daughter-in-law is too strong and the son too weak to assert himself, it would make anyone uncomfortable to some degree.
That evening, as they retired to their rooms, Mother Qi couldn’t help but ask her husband, "Do you think this Seafood Shop will succeed? Aren’t those things quite expensive? Where will she get the money?" 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
Father Qi was smoking; since his grandson was around, he could only smoke in the room. Hearing this, he said, "Our daughter-in-law has a few businesses; she must have some savings, right? Since she wants to do it, she’s likely figured out how to free up some funds. You don’t need to worry about this!"
"I’m just worried she won’t make money from it. How expensive are those things? How many ordinary people can afford them? In my opinion, renting out that shop for a steady income would be a surefire deal." Mother Qi thought simply.
Father Qi scoffed, "That’s why you’ve remained ordinary up to now. Business is bound to have its ups and downs. As the saying goes, it’s easy to open a shop but hard to keep it running. Success requires persistence and effort. If you’re afraid of failure before you even start, how could anything ever be accomplished? Your perspective can’t compare to hers."
Mother Qi pursed her lips, "I’m not that worldly; I’ve never seen much of the world, so surely I can’t compare to her."
Father Qi felt stumped for words, "Just leave it be. Young people have their perspectives. They should strive. If they want to do it, just support them. You just enjoy yourself and take care of our grandson!"
He never objected to Cheng Su doing business. Who would dislike money? Who wouldn’t wish for their family to prosper, ensuring a comfortable life for future generations?
"I’m just saying, I didn’t mean anything by it. You old man, acting like I’m picking a fight. Go to sleep!" Mother Qi said exasperatedly, lying down.
Ignoring his wife’s grumbling, Father Qi rolled his eyes, finished his cigarette, and also lay down on the bed.
Who knew, Mother Qi would sit up again and say, "If this shop really opens, we have to make sure Jianguo helps. We can’t always let her family take charge. Otherwise, who knows if this family business is in the Qi name or the Cheng name?"
Father Qi said, "Whether Qi or Cheng, in the future, it’s definitely Xiao Qi’s. Stop making a fuss to save face for both families. Get some sleep!"
Mother Qi muttered a couple of words and then finally fell asleep.
Meanwhile, Father Cheng and his wife were also discussing this matter.
"Her ambition is growing," Father Cheng sighed.
Mother Cheng yawned and said, "Let her be. If she can make it work, it’s proof of her competence. At least it’s her own business."
"I just hope she’ll discuss more with Taiguo and not make decisions on her own. A man is supposed to be the head of the household!"
"You’re worrying too much. Do you think your daughter is brainless? Rest assured, she knows what she’s doing!" With these words, Mother Cheng paid him no further mind.
Father Cheng thought she was right. His daughter had always had a good head for decisions, so he decided not to overthink it.
