Beast Evolution System: Devourer of Heaven
Chapter 384: Arrival
" This isn’t good, we can’t hold on much longer, I’m Afraid this universe is doomed." One of the elementals whispered.
Although he was talking to himself, the others heard him and the moon plummeted even further.
" Damnit, it has almost been a hundred years, can’t those fools find anybody to help us?" One of the leading elementals cursed.
His voice boomed with thunder and wind that ripped space to shreds, they were all under strain.
Keeping the barrier active was getting harder, had it not been for the other elementals culling the numbers of the battles.
The swarm would’ve broke through their barrier by now and consumed everything in their path.
Suddenly, one elemental who had just returned from the culling saw a single beetle on his back. 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶
It was chewing through his wing body, he panicked and screamed and in doing so disturbed the barrier.
A tiny crack appeared, before any of them could react, the barrier cracked even more and a stream of beetles flew out.
The poor wind elemental was in their path, they swarmed him and devoured his body in seconds.
The others couldn’t even help without hurting and frankly, none cared enough to help.
The five leaders tried to repair the barrier but it was harder than expected, the barrier continued cracking instead.
They knew they couldn’t hold on anymore and as expected, the cracks grew uncontrollable in a blink of an eye.
The barrier shattered and the swarm flooded out, those closest were drowned and devoured down to their souls.
The five leaders took action and used their abilities, each attack erased trillions of beetles but the swarm made more.
Its rate of reproduction outpaced their ability to kill the beetles. In their despair they felt roars behind them.
They looked back and saw an army of beasts flying through the void of space carrying a statue of a dragon.
There were other armies following the beasts, each one carrying a statue of either a statue of a man with horns or a woman.
The elementals felt a tremendous amount of pressure from these armies, while none had comprehended laws.
There were already those at the peak of rank 6, just a short distance of comprehending laws.
The reason for their rapid growth is similar to the one that caused earthlings to grow much faster in Pangera.
Except it was on a universal scale here, after gaining proper cultivation techniques, using the volatile and unstable essence, they cultivated much faster than elementals who passively absorb essence.
Not to mention they weren’t limited like the elementals, they could absorb pure essence then convert it to elemental essence.
Whereas the elementals had to absorb essence of their element and therefore cannot cultivate just anywhere.
Leaders of these armies came out to greet the elements. Queen Elizabeth was was the first to step forward.
" Greetings elemental lords, I’m queen Elizabeth, servant of the holy maiden at your service."
Almost she bowed in respect, they could tell she wasn’t worshipping or so them as gods as one would expect from humans.
" How dare a human speak to us Gods like this, do you want to die?!" A fire elemental with a short temper growled.
Rouge grinned and floated in front of Elizabeth. " You want to go you fire bastard? I’ll accompany you if want."
This elemental was on the same rank as them, yet to even comprehend laws and he dared act so arrogant.
Roage grabbed his sister and shook his head, he didn’t speak much but she understood the message.
They were the weaker party here, if the older elementals took action, they wouldn’t be able to bear it.
Rouge was about to retreat when the elemental attacked, he was so mad his flames blazed as high as mountains.
While they were arguing the other elementals were busy trying to hold back the swarm.
" You fools, we don’t have time for your petty games, come assist us." The light element shouted.
Everybody turned towards him and nodded, the new armies attacked, while they weren’t too strong.
They had large numbers and each attack could at the very least kill dozen of beetles. The tide changed, the elementals relaxed.
The arrival of these armies gave them hope, Elizabeth finally took action, after witnessing the holy maiden, she dedicated her entire life to learning ice abilities.
Now, she was over 300 years old, in the past it would’ve taken a miracle for her to live this long.
But now, she barely lived a fraction of her actual lifespan. She waved her hand and a staff appeared out of thin air.
This was her vessel, she slammed its butt on the space and a gigantic magic circle appeared.
Its blue light lit up the space around her drawing the attention of others. A wave of cold energy shot out.
It froze millions of beetles at once, seeing this the elementals grew quiet, they realised she wasn’t weaker than them.
This made their faces grim because they realised their authority and status was slipping from their hands.
However they didn’t have a time to deal with these threatening groups, not while the threat of actual death was in front of them.
They ignored the new groups and continued fighting the beetle swarm, slowly they started gaining an upper hand.
The beetle swarm grew smaller and smaller with each passing moment. This increased their morale.
They fought even harder and destroyed even more beetles and when less than a billion were left.
The most powerful elementals took action, their individual attacks were enough to wipe out trillions, let alone less than a billion.
Having attacked together, they were certain they would wipe out the swarm this time and as expected.
Space shook for hundreds of thousands of lights years and the beetle swarm ceased to be.
Everybody cheered and the armies were about to leave when they found themselves surrounded by the elementals.
" What’s the meaning of this?" A giant lizard asked in a deep voice, he was called the priest of the black dragon.
The recognised leader of the spiritual beasts race and the one with the purest dragon blood.
" You will tell us where you lot suddenly got so much power." The fire elemental from before spoke.
The armies grew scared then noticed the elementals with laws were not looking at them, their gazes were somewhere else.
They followed their gazes and saw three beings walking towards them, they walked on space like it was solid ground.
The armies smiled because they recognised those three.
