Beast World: A Fragile Beauty Blessed with Many Children
Chapter 521 - 520: I Tend to Hold Grudges
A faint smile now touched Ding Yin’s lips, but her bangs hid her expression as she lowered her head.
’Now it’s confirmed,’ she thought. ’My two winged lion cubs have befriended powerful Beastmen. With them around, I won’t have to worry so much when it’s time for me to leave this Beast World Continent.’
Ming Lei’s forehead was scraped raw, yet he couldn’t stop kowtowing. He pleaded with Ding Yin to put in a good word for him.
"Ding Yin, I was wrong! I truly know I was wrong this time. Please forgive me, and ask your friend to stop tormenting me!"
But Ding Yin said coolly, "I can’t forgive you."
The other Beastmen frowned, looking from one person to another, completely unsure of who to believe.
"Ding Yin, isn’t this enough? Ming Lei is just a crude man who doesn’t know how to treat a female. You should be more tolerant... Couples shouldn’t hold grudges overnight..." one of the other Beastmen coaxed, unable to bear the sight of Ming Lei’s bloody forehead.
Ding Yin, however, remained unresponsive as always, her head bowed, completely lost in her own world.
"Who is this playing tricks?" the Clan Leader demanded, his face cold and grim. "You’d better show yourself, or whatever you do to us, we’ll do to Ding Yin!"
With a tilt of his head, two tall, powerful Beastmen moved forward to restrain Ding Yin.
And then, those two Beastmen joined Ming Lei’s shoulder-to-shoulder kowtowing brigade...
The Clan Leader’s face turned livid, and the other Beastmen looked frightened. They still had no idea who their opponent was—a Female Saint or a male—nor what kind of superpower they possessed.
"Let’s attack together!" There were dozens of Beastmen present. Surely they couldn’t all be forced to kowtow, right?
’Superpowers have their limits. Even if this person’s power is unbelievable, controlling dozens of Beastmen at once is absolutely impossible!’
The Beastmen exchanged hesitant glances.
An elder in a white robe said coldly, "What are you waiting for? Get her! I refuse to believe we can’t harm Ding Yin! If we don’t stand together, the next one with a scraped-raw head will be one of you!"
There was strength in numbers. Gritting their teeth, the Beastmen charged forward, a terrifying ferocity in their attack.
But as they got close, they began to topple over one after another, like a line of dominoes.
Ding Yin watched, unable to stop the corners of her mouth from curving into a smile. She let out a soft laugh, but it was drowned out by the groans of the fallen Beastmen.
The faces of the fallen crowd darkened. They were here to teach Ding Yin a lesson, not to put on a show for her amusement.
Beads of sweat broke out on their foreheads as they scanned their surroundings warily. They had never heard of anyone with a superpower so formidable it could affect dozens of males at once.
’Given the clean, swift force that made Ming Lei and the others kowtow,’ they realized, ’if our opponent were ruthless, they could have easily made them smash their heads on something sharp, killing them instantly!’
The Clan Leader was breathing heavily, clearly furious. He gritted his teeth and glared at Ding Yin. "Ding Yin, you’d better start talking. I refuse to believe this Beastman, wherever they’re hiding, can use their superpower indefinitely."
"And you’d better pray we don’t find them. Otherwise... heh... you can’t even begin to imagine the wrath you will face."
Meanwhile, Sweet Ring had already called his Mother over to watch the show. This time, her partner, Xiao Cheng, had come along too!
Xiao Cheng pointed to the two winged lion cubs, who were so nervous they could hardly breathe, and whispered in Si Shuo’s ear, "How about... this... and that..."
Si Shuo’s eyes lit up, but she hesitated. "Is that really okay? Wouldn’t it be... disrespectful?"
"We’re helping them get even," Xiao Cheng said, rubbing her ear. "They won’t mind. Now we just have to pray that those Beastmen have forgotten what he looked like."
Si Shuo took a deep breath and bit into a Transformation Talisman. Her form changed, taking on the features of Jing Qi and Jing Lin as she grew, as if being inflated, into a handsome young man.
Anyone could see at a glance that the three of them were a family.
Seeing Si Shuo’s new form, Jing Qi and Jing Lin’s eyes reddened. Tears streamed down their faces like pearls from a broken string. DRIP. DROP.
"Father..." they whispered, almost inaudibly.
Seeing the cubs’ reaction, Si Shuo realized her disguise had been too convincing. ’Well, in that case,’ she thought, ’let’s make the storm rage even wilder!’
With a flicker of her eyes, her features seemed to gain a "filter." She softened some characteristics, making her appearance an eighty percent match for Jing Jiang.
Si Shuo dressed herself according to the winged lion cubs’ descriptions, and only then did she reveal her form. "It is I," she announced. "I have returned from the Beast God to seek my revenge. Now, tell me, who am I?"
The Clan Leader and his followers exchanged a look, the fear in their eyes so thick it was almost tangible. ’How can the dead return to life?’
But there, floating before them, was Jing Jiang. His body was translucent, and he stood upon empty air as the raging gales swirled around him, yet never touched him.
The autumn wind howled and swirled, clawing at them. Even in their leather clothes, the Beastmen shivered, wishing for another layer.
"Who... who are you? Are you one of Jing Jiang’s littermates?" one of the Beastmen asked, his teeth chattering.
"Jing Jiang" replied coolly, "Heh, I thought you all knew me so well."
It was precisely because they knew him that they remembered the plot. They remembered how his wings had been brutally broken, how they, the Winged Tiger Beastmen, had torn him apart limb from limb. There was no way he could have survived.
"How can you still be alive? I remember you being devoured until not even a scrap was left!"
The voice was sharp with fear, but the words died in his throat when he met the cold, indifferent gaze of "Jing Jiang."
"Jing Jiang" smiled and turned to Ding Yin, who was staring at him, stunned and motionless. "Because I have someone to protect," he said. "After you bullied her like this, did you really think I wouldn’t ask the Beast God for a leave of absence?"
The crowd pursed their lips, frowning as they tried to recall every cruel word and vicious deed they had committed, lest this vengeful spirit decide to settle old scores.
"Jing Jiang, we wronged you," they admitted, their confession swift and seemingly sincere.
But Si Shuo had seen plenty of insincere apologies. Her expression remained indifferent, as if she hadn’t heard them at all. Clearly, she was not satisfied with their empty words.
The Clan Leader watched her warily. "What do you want?"
"Not much," "Jing Jiang" said slowly. "I just happen to be the type to hold a grudge. Whoever tore my flesh back then had better step forward. Otherwise, the consequences will be... unimaginable."
The Beastmen looked at each other, but no one dared to step forward. They stared wide-eyed at "Jing Jiang." How could a translucent ghost possibly threaten them?
"Jing Jiang" was no fool. He remained perfectly calm and composed, simply letting Ming Lei and the others continue to smash their heads on the ground.
"Jing Jiang, you should forgive and forget..." an elder began to plead naggingly.
"Heh. When I was being devoured, did anyone urge you to show mercy? Was my flesh tasty? How much of your current cultivation did you gain by carving me up?"
His words left them speechless. "Well," one stammered, "what’s done is done. We should look to the future, shouldn’t we?"
