Beast World Food Stall: Feeding My Cubs and Taming My Beast Husbands
Chapter 110: If You’re Not Skilled Enough, Then You Die
Feng Hui kept telling himself to hold back and not let the stunned look show on his face.
But after tasting such a delicacy, it was impossible to maintain his stone-faced facade.
He didn’t want to show any emotion and give the Feng Xuan brothers—especially Feng Yue—a reason to laugh at him, so his face twisted into a bizarre expression.
Sounds of praise filled the air. Never mind the neutral tribes that stayed out of the Tiger Clan’s internal strife; even some of the people who originally stood with Feng Hui were now thinking of switching sides.
It wasn’t just for the delicious food. It was also because Feng Xuan was Yu An’s Beast Husband, and Yu An was the female chosen by the Beast God.
Going against the Beast God? Wasn’t that a death wish?!
Feng Hui sensed the shifting loyalties among his followers. He shot a cold glance at the people behind him and warned in a low voice, "Don’t get any funny ideas. Don’t forget what you did to Feng Xuan before!"
It wasn’t just Feng Hui’s men who had been sent to hunt down the brothers Feng Xuan and Feng Yue. Others had participated as well, hoping for a share of the credit.
They were all in the same boat now. At his words, those who had been getting restless settled down a little.
Yu An, who had been keeping a close eye on Feng Hui’s faction, exchanged a glance with Feng Xuan.
After finishing their potato noodles, the Beastmen began asking when Yu An would teach them the recipe for this delicacy. They asked the Great Elder and the others, but in truth, they didn’t know either.
Outwardly, however, they just said that everything was up to Yu An.
Seeing that the time was right, Yu An cleared her throat. Ao Wu handed her a megaphone. "Everyone is very eager, so I won’t keep you in suspense. Starting tomorrow, we will be right here, teaching everyone how to make potato noodles."
"However, the Beast God, in consideration of my hard work, has granted me two special privileges. The first is that I can sell potato noodles to support my family. I won’t be greedy; I’ll only sell them for seven days, with three hundred portions available each day."
Thirty copper coins for a portion with noodles, meat, and vegetables was an incredible deal. The Beastmen all declared they would come to buy some.
They wouldn’t just come to buy it; they’d be fighting over it. After all, even if a delicacy like this sold for one gold coin a portion, plenty of people would still be scrambling to get one.
"Wait, how come the potato noodles are even cheaper than the prepared meals?"
The recipes for prepared meals were monopolized by the nobility, and commoners had to pay a fortune just to buy a small amount. In comparison, the price Yu An set was practically charity!
Yu An said with a beaming smile, "The Beast God has decreed that everyone, commoner or noble, has the right to enjoy delicious food. That’s why I won’t set the price too high."
"And if you can’t manage to buy a portion or can’t afford it, you can learn to make it yourself at home. The ingredients for potato noodles grow all over the mountains and are very easy to find."
"Then what about the second privilege the Beast God gave you?"
A Beastman in the crowd called out.
Yu An replied, "The second is that I get to choose who I teach. The Beast God doesn’t force me to teach people I don’t like, or my enemies."
Someone blurted out in surprise, "Princess Yu An is Clan Leader Feng Xuan’s Female Master, so she definitely doesn’t like..."
His companion jabbed him, cutting him off. But everyone knew who he had been about to name. Feng Hui’s face turned livid; clearly, he knew as well.
Some gloated, thinking Feng Hui got what he deserved. Others felt that since the recipe was a gift to Yu An from the Beast God, and they were all children of the Beast God, wouldn’t it be wrong not to teach everyone?
Of course, the only ones thinking this were Feng Hui and his supporters. The other onlooking Beastmen were just eager to see these high-and-mighty "nobles" make a fool of themselves.
At that thought, just as Feng Hui was about to try and guilt-trip her, Yu An beat him to it. "But I believe that since we are all children of the Beast God, no one should be treated differently because of my personal feelings. Therefore, I will teach anyone who comes to learn."
’Hehe, bet you didn’t see that coming. I’m moral, alright—so moral it’s practically a weapon. You can’t guilt-trip me.’
Instantly, the crowd erupted with praise for Yu An. No one even questioned her when she explained that her energy was limited, that she couldn’t teach everyone at once, and that she would have to teach the members of the Tiger Clan first.
They were lucky to be able to learn at all, so they couldn’t be picky. Besides, their turn would come eventually.
She was family to them, so wasn’t it only right for them to learn first?
"Clan Leader," the Second Elder said, his expression grim. "You said before that Princess Yu Yun would become the heir, which is why we sided with you. But now Princess Yu An has the Beast God’s favor. It’s no longer certain who the heir will be."
The Second Elder had long resented the Great Elder’s authority in the Tiger Clan, which was why he had turned coat and sided with Feng Hui. But now, he was suddenly regretting that decision.
"What are you implying, Second Elder?" Feng Hui’s expression darkened. "Are you planning to betray me?"
"But you’d better think this through. After everything that’s happened, do you really think Feng Xuan will take you back?"
This was the very reason the Second Elder didn’t turn on Feng Hui right then and there.
Feng Hui’s lips twisted into a sneer. "Rather than groveling and begging for his forgiveness, you’re better off sticking with your choice."
"It’s not over yet. How can you be sure the Beast Emperor’s heir will be Yu An? She was the one personally banished to the exiled land by the Beast Emperor himself. Even if she uses the Beast God’s name to return to the Imperial City, it doesn’t mean the Beast Emperor will favor her..."
Just as the Second Elder was about to nod in agreement, Yu An, who was standing nearby, cleared her throat and spoke up. "Then let’s have the Tiger Clan’s Great Elder and Second Elder select the people for the first round of lessons together."
"Huh?"
The Second Elder was dumbfounded. ’Did I... Did I just hear that right?’
The Great Elder walked onto the stage, his face wearing its usual smile. "Second Brother, what are you standing there dazed for? Let’s go."
The Second Elder was in a daze. He didn’t even see Feng Hui shooting him meaningful glances. He only snapped out of it as he was about to step off the stage.
"Eldest... Eldest Brother, I..."
"Second Brother," the Great Elder sighed. "I know you were just confused for a moment. Let’s put the past behind us. Our Tiger Clan is on the verge of rising to new heights. Can you bear to let the clansmen who follow you suffer?"
The Second Elder’s followers looked like they wanted to rush over, grab his head, and force him to say "no." Thankfully, the Second Elder answered for himself.
And just like that, the Great Elder led the still-dazed Second Elder away. The rest of his faction either slipped away quietly or outright fled. Soon, besides Yu An and her family, only Feng Hui and his closest confidants were left on the stage.
Feng Hui knew that even if his alliance with the Second Elder and his followers didn’t collapse right this moment, it was now hanging by a thread. In a fit of rage, he flung his sleeves and stormed away.
Feng Xuan gave Feng Yue a look. Feng Yue understood, taking a few people with him as he quietly departed.
Yu An asked in a low voice, "To take care of them?"
"Yes," Feng Xuan said, enveloping her small hand in his palm to warm it. "He can’t accomplish much on his own, but it’s still necessary to pull up the weeds by the roots."
Feng Hui’s only real backing was the power of Princess Yu Yun. Now that his plan to seize control of the Tiger Clan was in ruins, he would have nothing to show for his efforts when he reported back to her.
When a Beast Husband dies, their Female Master senses it. In the Princess Mansion in the Imperial City, Princess Yu Yun was in the middle of choosing a male to share her bed for the night when her fingers suddenly paused.
A Maid asked cautiously, "Princess?"
Yu Yun’s expression didn’t change. "Feng Hui is dead."
"Have someone investigate how he died. If he was simply outmatched... then don’t bother with it. He got what he deserved."
The only real problem was that she would now have to expend more effort to win over the Tiger Clan. That was the real headache for Yu Yun.
