Beast World Food Stall: Feeding My Cubs and Taming My Beast Husbands
Chapter 151: Human Face Flowers Reappear
"Empty?"
Finding the box where she had stored the fruit pit, Yu An opened it to find it completely empty.
Fortunately, the Cloud Beasts kept detailed records when organizing items. Yu An quickly found the Cloud Beast who had put the box into storage—Little Thirteen.
"It was a fruit pit inside, so I planted it in the ground."
Little Thirteen pointed to a nearby planting area, saying with some vexation, "But it’s growing too slowly. The other fruit trees planted at the same time have already borne fruit, but this one has only just sprouted leaves."
And a pitiful three of them at that.
Yu An was surprised. "Sprouted... no, it’s already grown into a tree?"
Little Thirteen led them over for a look, and Yu An recognized it as the sapling that had been growing in the bok choy patch.
At the time, neither she nor Ao Wu knew what kind of tree it was, so they had just let it grow.
Previously, bok choy had been planted next to the sapling, but now the area was barren, with not a single blade of grass in sight.
Little Thirteen explained, "None of the fruits or vegetables planted next to the little tree grow well. They all look sickly, so we stopped planting things here."
Upon learning that the Cloud Beasts usually watered the plants with diluted Divine Spring Water, an idea struck Yu An. She tried watering it with a little undiluted Divine Spring Water.
The next second, the small sapling began to change.
Leaves started sprouting from the tree at a visible rate, going from three to more than a dozen.
But before long, the growth rate slowed down.
Yu An placed her hand on the sapling. It was brimming with life and showed no signs of being unable to withstand the Divine Spring Water.
In other words, with enough Divine Spring Water, she could even force the tree to quickly blossom and bear fruit!
Thinking of the fruit’s effects, Yu An felt it was necessary to speed up the tree’s growth.
However, she had used a lot of it last time when she was severely injured, and the water in the Divine Spring was recovering extremely slowly. A portion had to be used for Yu Huang, and another portion had to be saved for emergencies. She could only try her best to spare some for the sapling.
To that end, all other crops were switched to being irrigated with ordinary water.
"Han Li, it’s a good thing you reminded me, or I definitely would have forgotten about this."
Yu An gently stroked the little sapling. "Little tree, little tree, grow up quickly. I need to study your fruit carefully after you bear it."
It could sustain the life of someone who should have died, albeit in the form of a skeleton. But at least they were still alive.
Han Li’s Beast Father had only eaten one. What if he ate another?
Would flesh and blood grow back?
Han Li hadn’t expected his casual remark to lead to a real possibility of finding the same kind of fruit his Beast Father had eaten.
He felt a faint sense of anticipation. More importantly, Yu An’s attention had been diverted.
Every time she entered her space, she would make a trip to check on it, even using a camera to document the sapling’s growth and calling it her "little tree baby." Xiao Yu was getting jealous.
"Han Li Beast Father, am I not Female Mother’s favorite baby anymore?"
Xiao Yu’s eyes welled with tears.
Han Li sighed. "Xiao Yu, your Beast Father wants to ask you the same question."
The miserable father and son were left all alone, hoping their Female Master (Female Mother) would remember them soon.
Fortunately, Yu An only kept up her recording for a few days before her enthusiasm faded, and she refocused on finding a way out of the Mist Forest.
As her due date approached, Han Li grew increasingly cautious. He even wanted to wait until after Yu An had given birth to their zaizai before continuing their journey.
Yu An refused flatly. It wasn’t like she was immobile, so why waste time in a place like this?
"Wait, we’ve been walking for five days. How have we not reached the exit yet?"
Logically, their starting point was only a four-day journey from the exit. Even at a slower pace, they should have arrived by now.
Yu An glanced at the nearest tree. It had scratch marks and directional signs on it; they hadn’t gone the wrong way.
Han Li scanned their surroundings and suddenly spotted a light ahead.
"An’an, look over there."
The two exchanged a look and walked toward the source of the light.
The closer they got, the brighter the light became, but it wasn’t harsh.
When they tried to get a little closer, they found they could no longer move forward.
There was clearly nothing in front of them, yet they couldn’t take another step, as if something was blocking their path.
Curiously, Yu An knocked on the empty air. It was like rapping on transparent glass, producing a dull THUD.
She tentatively called this invisible thing a glass dome. Inside the dome was a small wooden cabin.
In front of the door were two leafy trees and a tilled vegetable patch with a hint of green.
After the sound, there was no movement from the wooden cabin. Yu An was about to knock again when a rustling sound, SSSS, suddenly rose from all around. The ears on Han Li’s head twitched, and he wrapped an arm around Yu An’s waist, quickly pulling her away.
Something burst out of the ground where they had just been standing. Yu An took a closer look. "It’s those flowers I saw!"
The same vibrant human face flowers she had seen in the miniature stone house in the Treasure Pearl Sea!
Using their roots as legs and their stalks as arms—with pieces of unidentifiable shredded meat hanging from them—they roared and charged at Yu An.
Yu An sucked in a sharp breath as a sudden, sharp pain shot through her belly.
She was both frightened and disgusted.
Anyone who saw such a grotesque scene would feel their heart tremble.
She grabbed Han Li’s hand. "Let’s go into the space!"
Yu Huang had been resting in her room, cultivating her spiritual power, when she heard a commotion outside and shot to her feet.
When she learned that Yu An was about to give birth, she nervously stayed by her daughter’s side.
She was an unfit Female Mother. She hadn’t been a part of any of her daughter’s life, and she hadn’t even been there for the previous births.
She hadn’t even recovered her memories of Yu An.
Unlike the nervous Yu Huang, Yu An was quite calm.
"Female Mother, your grip is too tight. My hand hurts."
"Female Mother, I want to eat an apple. Peeled and cut into small pieces."
"Female Mother, I want..."
Yu Huang did whatever she asked, and her nervousness finally eased a little. Then, Yu Huang realized something. "An’an, you... don’t you feel any pain?"
Yu Huang had no memory of giving birth to Yu An, but she had seen other females give birth, and it was always painful.
"It doesn’t hurt," Yu An said, chewing away. "Oh, right, I forgot to tell you guys. Han Li is a Snow Wolf Beastman, and their clan..."
Outside the door, Han Li’s face was deathly pale, but when he remembered that his pain meant Yu An felt none, he gritted his teeth and endured it.
Seeing that he could barely stand, Chu Feng quickly helped him to a chair.
"Deep breaths, deep breaths... That’s right. Don’t be so nervous. No, wait, you should be nervous, but not *this* nervous, right?"
It was as if Han Li was the one giving birth.
Han Li was in too much pain to speak, and his heart ached even more for Yu An, who had gone through this twice before.
’Giving birth to a zaizai is this painful,’ he thought. ’I’ll have to ask Lu Lu later if there’s a way to prevent future pregnancies.’
It wasn’t until evening that Han Li felt the pain subside. Chun Nuan came out of the room, holding a snow-white egg.
Seeing Han Li’s condition and remembering what Yu An had just said, she didn’t dare let him hold it.
"Young Master, I’ll hold it. You can just take a look."
"What about An’an? How is she?"
Han Li glanced at the zaizai. ’Nothing special to see,’ he thought. ’I’m tired of looking at eggs after the first few. At most, the color is different.’
"The young miss is fine," Chun Nuan said with a smile. "She’s complaining to the Princess right now, saying some ugly thing outside scared her."
Han Li breathed a sigh of relief. "That’s good."
’Enough talk,’ he thought. ’I’m covered in a cold sweat. I’ll go see An’an after I’ve washed up!’
"By the way, the Princess said she’ll tell the young miss the truth in a few days. You should prepare yourself, Young Master."
Han Li froze, the smile instantly vanishing from his face.
’Oh well,’ he thought. ’Some secrets can’t be kept forever.’
