Beast World Food Stall: Feeding My Cubs and Taming My Beast Husbands
Chapter 153: Ended Up Saving a Brother-in-Law
Ao Si: "???"
"What did you say?!"
He was dumbfounded. "My little sister is your Female Master? When did you two get together?!"
’Wait,’ he thought, ’I need to sort this out.’
Ao Wu gave him a look that said not to make such a big deal out of it. "Back on the Beastman Continent, the little island and I drifted to the Endless Sea. An’an happened to stumble upon us there, and that’s when we got together."
Ao Si opened his mouth, but in the end, he could only choke out two words: "You beast!"
’That’s our little sister!’
Ao Wu was unconcerned. "She’s not my biological sister. Besides, no male from the outside could possibly be as good as one raised in-house, like me."
He was quite proud of this fact.
He had set his sights on An’an back when she was still an egg.
Ao Si was speechless. But the children were already born. What could he do?
Speaking of which, his little sister did seem to share a special fate with this brat. When Ao Wu was a cub, he took so long to hatch that their Female Mother had given up, thinking it was a dead egg.
It was their little sister, still in their Female Mother’s womb, who moved, prompting their Female Mother to keep observing for a while longer.
"Forget it," Ao Si said helplessly. "You can explain it to our Beast Father and our oldest brother yourself."
If he ended up getting a four-on-one beating, Ao Si wasn’t going to stop them.
Ao Wu said it was no problem. If he got beaten, he got beaten. It wasn’t like he hadn’t gotten his fair share of beatings as a child.
He wondered where An’an, Xiao Yu, Little Serpent, and the other four were. Their family had never been separated for this long.
...
"Is that guy still trying?"
"Yeah, he’s fallen eight hundred times already and still won’t give up."
"If you ask me, we’ve got food and drink here, no different from the outside. Why be so stubborn about getting out?"
At the bottom of a picturesque abyss with lush mountains and clear streams, several male beastmen lay under a tree after eating their fill, rubbing their bellies, burping, and chatting.
In front of them, Mo Yan, who had just tumbled down again, silently applied some herbs to his scrapes and began to climb once more.
After separating from Feng Xuan and Lan Yin, he had been searching for Yu An while on the move. As he was passing through a valley, a strange suction force had pulled him into this abyss.
Besides him, there were dozens of other beastmen at the bottom of the abyss who had been sucked in just like he was.
The abyss was bizarre. Upon entering, all spiritual power vanished, and it was impossible to shift into beast form. The beastmen had tried to climb out, but all their attempts ended in failure.
"How long do you guys think he’ll last before falling this time?"
"Two hours, maybe."
"One hour, tops. He’s injured all over. He definitely won’t last two hours."
Mo Yan ignored them, gritting his teeth and continuing his ascent. But the slope was too steep, and his stamina gave out. In the end, he failed again.
Gazing up at the seemingly endless exit above, Mo Yan returned to his spot to rest without a word.
Next to him was a fox-type male. Seeing him return, he once again tried to persuade him. "Brother Mo, I’m telling you, you should just give up. It’s pretty nice here. Otherwise, you’ll end up like that guy in the cave over there—covered in injuries. In a few days, he probably won’t make it."
The fox-type male clicked his tongue in amazement. "But that guy was really impressive. I heard he almost reached the exit, but then some newcomer fell and knocked him all the way back down."
From that high up, a fall would mean either death or serious injury.
Mo Yan’s eyes opened. He hadn’t had any water all day, and his voice was hoarse. "He almost climbed out?"
"That’s what the newcomer who knocked him down said," the fox-type male remarked with a sigh. "If it weren’t for his bad luck, he might have escaped."
Mo Yan pursed his lips, lost in thought. After a moment, he got up, took some water, and walked out.
The fox-type male asked curiously, "Brother Mo, where are you going?"
"To see that man."
The cave was exceptionally quiet. As Mo Yan entered, he smelled a rotten stench.
He frowned and continued deeper inside.
On a stone bed inside the cave, a tall man lay with faint, shallow breaths.
Mo Yan moved closer for a look. The man’s face was as pale as a sheet, and many of the wounds on his body had begun to putrefy. If not for the slight rise and fall of his chest, Mo Yan would have thought he was already dead.
He approached the man and took out a small vial from his robes.
The vial contained the Divine Spring Water that Yu An had distributed among them, one portion each, to save their lives in an emergency.
Mo Yan hadn’t been willing to use his. He had endured all his minor injuries and ailments on his own, so his vial of Divine Spring Water was still full.
He dripped two drops into some water, first cutting away the man’s putrefied flesh before feeding him the diluted Divine Spring Water.
The bleeding stopped quickly. Mo Yan waited by his side all night. When he checked on the man’s condition the next morning, his breathing had stabilized slightly.
Mo Yan breathed a sigh of relief and went out to hunt a few pheasants.
When others saw this, they thought he had finally given up.
The fox-type male’s eyes darted around. He intercepted Mo Yan before he could enter the cave. "Brother Mo, are you planning to stay here now? Want to consider teaming up...?"
Mo Yan shook his head. "I’m looking for a partner to climb out with me. My family is still waiting for me outside."
Seeing this, the fox-type male sighed. "All right then."
Mo Yan had invited him before, but the fox-man’s spirit had long been broken. He didn’t want to try again, nor did he dare.
When he returned to the cave, the man was awake. He stared at Mo Yan warily.
"I’m the one who saved you," Mo Yan said, starting a fire and skewering the pheasants on branches to roast. "I mean no harm. I just want to work with you to get out of here."
The man hadn’t spoken in a long time. It took him a while before he finally replied, "Okay." 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮
He knew how severe his injuries were; he’d thought he was going to die here.
He didn’t care about his own life, but he had been lured here by a plot. The culprit was suspected to be a member of the Invincible Alliance and would surely move against the Dragon Clan.
"Have something to eat," Mo Yan said, handing him the roasted chicken. "My name is Mo Yan."
The man glanced at his scabbed-over wounds. "Ao Yi."
’He has the same surname as Ao Wu?’
During his time on the Beast God Continent, Mo Yan had learned many things. He had heard some rumors about the Dragon Clan’s fifth young master, who had been lost for many years.
It only took a few casual inquiries to find out that fifth young master’s name.
"What is your relationship to Ao Wu, the fifth young master of the Dragon Clan?"
’Did I just happen to save one of the family?’
Ao Yi glanced at him. "He’s my fifth brother. You know him?"
Mo Yan paused. "I do. He’s my Female Master’s Beast Husband."
Ao Yi had just woken up, and his mind was still a bit foggy. It took him a moment to process this.
When he looked at Mo Yan again, some of the wariness in his eyes had faded.
"Then we’re family. Is Xiao Wu all right?"
Ao Yi and his brothers had been searching for their little sister’s whereabouts. After Ao Wu went missing, they had one more person to search for.
Now that he had news of one of them, Ao Yi felt a great weight lift from his heart.
Mo Yan selectively told him a few things. As Ao Yi listened, his resolve to return home grew even stronger.
’There’s still no news of our little sister, and our Female Mother is still with the Invincible Alliance. I have to get back as soon as possible!’
As he was being thought of by both Mo Yan and Ao Yi, Ao Wu’s nose suddenly tickled. He hugged the Zaizai in his arms tightly and, along with Ao Si, bid farewell to the Great Elder.
The two of them were going to take the Zaizai to find Yu An and the other two Zaizai. Only by reuniting soon could they finally put their worries to rest.
They had another mission: they had to make a trip to Tianyang City to call back their father, Ao Jin, who was stationed there.
