Beast World Food Stall: Feeding My Cubs and Taming My Beast Husbands
Chapter 155: Spiritual Power Domain
When the two of them caught up, the Shark Pearls were circling the human face flowers. The flowers, acting as if they hadn’t seen them, were rooted in the soil and resting.
Yu An and Han Li hid behind a tree, and the human face flowers did not notice them.
"Han Li, do you think it’s possible that the human face flowers were transformed from Beastmen?"
’If you looked closely, you’d see the face in the center of the flower had distinct features, looking exactly as if it had been flayed from a person!’
’Could someone have used some kind of Evil Technique to turn Beastmen into Flower Demons?’
’The Shark Pearls’ clansmen had likely been turned into human face flowers. Otherwise, why would they keep circling them?’
Yu An’s imagination ran wild.
Han Li held a different view. "An’an, do you remember a few days ago when we saw the human face flowers? There were bits of flesh on their branches."
"It didn’t look like the flesh of a wild animal, more like..."
Thinking of the possibility, the two of them shivered in unison.
Regardless of which of their theories was correct, or if it was something else entirely, there was no doubt that the creator of the human face flowers was up to no good.
The Shark Pearls continued to circle the human face flowers, but the flowers ignored them. After resting for a moment, they uprooted themselves and formed a line, walking toward a glass dome.
They weren’t blocked by the glass dome and passed through smoothly. As they did, ripples spread out from what had appeared to be empty space.
The Shark Pearls tried to follow them inside but ran into an invisible wall. No matter how many times they charged, they couldn’t get through.
Yu An wanted to call them back but worried that her voice would lure the human face flowers out again. After a moment of thought, she manipulated her vines, wrapping them around the Shark Pearls one by one and pulling them back.
Seeing the Shark Pearls struggle, she soothed them, "I know you want to find your companions, but we can’t get in there right now. Let’s go back to the space first."
The Shark Pearls seemed to understand and gradually grew quiet.
Inside the space, after hearing Yu An’s description, Yu Huang was eager for a fight. "An’an, let me out. I want to see for myself what those disgusting things are."
"They’ve already left. You won’t see them even if you go out now."
Yu An took out a stack of photos. "I took pictures. Everyone, have a look. They’re a little frightening."
Xiao Yu wanted to look too, but after the adults saw the photos, they unanimously decided to skip him, refusing to let him see something so terrifying.
The little fellow pouted, sitting in his special seat and flicking his tail in boredom.
’When will I finally get my legs back? Without a grown-up to carry me, I can’t go anywhere.’
After a brief discussion, they decided to try and break the invisible barrier to see what was inside.
As for the human face flowers... with so many of them, there weren’t even enough for one per person.
Once they had a plan, Chun Nuan and a few others remained in the space while the rest went out with Yu An.
Perhaps because of the larger group this time, the human face flowers sensed them the moment they emerged and quickly returned.
The flowers looked intimidating, but in reality, they only possessed brute strength and the ability to bind prey with their branches.
Their branches could extend and retract, making them difficult to defend against.
This wasn’t difficult for Yu An. She controlled her vines to bind their branches, allowing the Beastmen to seize the opportunity and smash them to a pulp with their fists. One by one, they fell to the ground, broken and immobile.
The Shark Pearls, however, showed no reaction. Seeing this, Yu An dismissed her theory that the human face flowers were transformed Beastmen.
She took a step forward. The invisible barrier was still there.
Yu Huang also went forward to check. "I remember reading in a book that when a Beastman’s spiritual power reaches a certain level, it can be manifested externally to form a domain."
"Could this be the legendary spiritual power domain?"
This was completely beyond Yu An’s understanding. She scratched her head and asked, "Female Mother, how do we break something like this?"
Yu Huang pondered for a moment. "I’ll try attacking it with my spiritual power."
Divine level Spiritual Power was extremely rare on the Beastman Continent, but several such individuals could be found on the Beast God Continent. Yu Huang was one of them.
She launched an attack, and Yu An saw ripples form in midair.
"Female Mother, I think it’s working!"
Chu Feng stepped forward. "My lady, Miss, let us help as well."
This was outside of Yu An’s capabilities, so she nodded and stepped aside for them.
After a long time, a sound like shattering glass echoed through the air. Han Li, standing beside Yu An, exclaimed happily, "An’an, it’s broken!"
When Yu An reached out her hand again, there was nothing there to block it.
To be safe, Chu Feng led the way with a few others. Yu An and Yu Huang were in the center of the formation, with the rest following behind.
There was nothing much around them. The wooden house was eerily quiet. After Chu Feng led his men inside, they found that there was no one there.
The wooden house wasn’t large, but it was fully furnished with all the necessities. On a bookshelf sat a carved wooden vase holding several dried flowers.
Yu An scanned the room, then ran a finger across a table. "There’s no dust. Someone’s been living here."
At least, someone has been living here recently.
’Did they leave a few days ago, or did they flee the very moment we shattered the spiritual power domain?’
Chu Feng and his men turned the wooden house upside down but only found a box of pearls, some feathers, and a few Beast Skins.
The feathers were a scattered assortment from all kinds of birds and beasts. The Beast Skins were mostly intact, just a little small—as if they had come from cubs.
As Yu An began to organize the items, she suddenly froze.
It was easy to distinguish between the cubs of wild beasts and those of Beastmen. She could tell at a glance these belonged to Beastman cubs.
She had Han Li and the others help her sort through the remaining feathers and Beast Skins, taking out a pen and paper to record the different species.
After they finished the tally, Chu Feng glanced at the list and felt it looked familiar. "Miss, let me take a closer look."
Yu An handed him the list. Holding it, Chu Feng began to mutter, "Two gray wolf cubs, one white fox cub, one purple sable cub..."
The more he read, the more horrified he became. This... this list was a perfect match for the partial list of cubs the Poisonous Insect Granny had brought back from the Beastman Continent!
Yu Huang’s face darkened. "What in the world is he trying to do!"
Her resolve to return to the Invincible Alliance grew even firmer.
’What Ao Yin is doing is an offense against nature itself, and now it involves my family. I have to go back and get to the bottom of this!’
"An’an, something’s over here!"
Han Li’s startled cry rang out. Yu An and the others looked over to see a crack appear in the previously flat floor. When Han Li removed all the dried flowers from the vase, the crack widened, revealing a narrow passage leading down.
Yu An looked at Han Li, not sure if she should call him lucky, or...
"I just felt that something was off about these dried flowers," Han Li explained, handing them to her. "An’an, these are flowers from the Exile Grass."
Yu An asked in surprise, "Exile Grass can flower?"
"It can, but it loses its original medicinal properties after it blooms."
Han Li explained, "After flowering, Exile Grass has another major characteristic. It becomes incredibly fragrant, a scent that lingers even after the flower withers. The aroma is so strong that most Beastmen can’t bear it, and it’s potent enough to mask the smell of blood."
"But these had no scent at all, so I decided to take a closer look."
And in doing so, he had accidentally opened the passage.
The passage was extremely narrow, only wide enough for one person to pass through at a time. Chu Feng wanted to take the lead again, but Han Li moved first.
"An’an, I’m going down first. You all follow behind me."
