Chapter 47: Chapter 47: Take Me, and the Entire Manor is Yours

Swept up by the soft clouds, Yu An felt completely insecure. She didn’t dare move a muscle, terrified she would fall.

Her fears were justified. The clouds suddenly thinned, no longer able to support her weight, and she plummeted straight down!

"What the—"

The world spun. Just before she hit the ground, she was pulled into a warm embrace. Her nose collided with a hard chest, sending a jolt of pain through her.

The arm around her was powerful, and a large hand steadied her waist. Once Yu An was on her feet, she finally got a clear look at the person before her.

The first thing she saw was a pair of beautiful, almond-shaped eyes. The man’s eyebrows were slightly raised, and damp, choppy bangs hung over his forehead, partially obscuring his captivating gaze and saving one from being completely drawn in.

"Are you alright, little female?"

"I’m fine." Yu An was momentarily dazzled, but she quickly snapped out of it. "You’re the one whose voice I heard earlier?!"

She pushed the man away and quickly put some distance between them, her eyes full of undisguised caution.

The man chuckled. "Don’t be afraid. I won’t hurt you."

Yu An didn’t believe him. "Who are you, and why did you separate me from my Beast Husband?"

She would much rather be with Lan Yin than this strange male.

"Beast Husband?"

The man scoffed. "He’s so weak. Little female, what do you even see in him?"

"Why not let me be your Beast Husband instead? I’m much stronger than he is."

He smiled. "Look. This is my home, and now, it’s yours too."

As the mist dispersed, Yu An realized she was on a small island. Not far off stood a manor, glittering brilliantly under the sun.

To Yu An’s surprise, the manor wasn’t built in a style typical of the Beast World Continent. It looked more like... European architecture!

While she stood there stunned, the man stepped forward and wrapped an arm around her waist. "Female Master, care for a tour of our future home?"

"Wait—"

Yu An pushed his hand away, keeping her distance. "Don’t call me that. I never agreed to you being my Beast Husband."

"And another thing, release Lan Yin. Or you won’t like what happens next!"

’I don’t know if he’s a friend or an enemy. His tone is gentle now, but he could turn vicious at any moment.’

Yu An clenched her jaw, contemplating how she might escape from this strange island.

She unconsciously placed a hand on her lower abdomen. ’I’m pregnant with my Zaizai. I can’t get into a violent fight, and I absolutely can’t get hurt.’

The man sounded helpless. "Relax, I’ve already let that male go. There was no point in keeping him."

"Besides, I’m not your enemy. If I were, I would’ve made my move long ago."

Yu An paused. "Then... who are you?"

Seeing that the young woman wouldn’t come home with him without a clear explanation, the man had no choice but to confess. "I’m the master here. Oh, and I’m also what you people call a Fierce Beast."

Surprise flashed in Yu An’s eyes. She had expected some hideous monster, not such a handsome Beastman.

’Wait, no. I can’t be fooled by his looks. He might appear harmless, but his terrifying power proves he’s earned the title of Fierce Beast!’

"Don’t get the wrong idea," the man said, looking aggrieved. "I’m not really a Fierce Beast. I’m just a poor Beastman who wandered in here by accident. I want to go home, but I can’t get out, so I’m forced to stay."

"I didn’t kill those Beastmen who died in the Endless Sea, either. The ocean floor is fraught with danger; the slightest misstep can be fatal. But people on the outside don’t know that, so they pin all the deaths on me."

He sighed. "It’s so unfair, but I can’t leave. All I can do is listen to the people outside curse me, unable to get a single word of my own out..."

Tears seemed to glisten in his eyes, which were brimming with vulnerability.

He looked as if he had suffered some great injustice. The corners of his mouth, which had been turned up just a moment before, now drooped, making him look utterly pitiful.

He then looked up, staring intently at Yu An as if pleading for some comfort.

"Is that so..."

Yu An cleared her throat. "That does sound pretty rough. But why did you bring me here?"

"Because you can get me out of here!"

At this, a light ignited in the man’s eyes. "As long as we become mates, you can lead me away from here!"

"Little female, I’m handsome, I have a great body, I’ve mastered every art of keeping you warm at night, and I even have Divine level Spiritual Power... Just take me as your Beast Husband! You definitely won’t regret it~"

The man pitched himself with all his might, terrified Yu An would refuse. He waved a hand toward the distant manor. "This is my dowry. The moment you agree, it’s all yours."

Yu An didn’t answer him directly. "I’ll think about it. But first, bring Lan Yin to me."

’This male needs something from me, so he won’t hurt me for the time being. I need to reunite with Lan Yin first, then I’ll figure out the rest.’

A glint flashed in the man’s eyes. "He was dragged to the seabed by chains. I’ll send my people to find him right now. In the meantime, why don’t you come and tour the manor with me?"

Seeing Yu An hesitate, he tried to persuade her. "I don’t know where he ended up, so it’ll probably take a while to find him. Instead of just waiting here, why not get something to eat and rest for a bit?"

Yu An thought for a moment and nodded.

The manor was wreathed in mist. When she pushed the door open, she saw clumps of white clouds inside... frolicking and playing?!

"Wow, is that a little flower on her face? And it’s red!"

Yu An subconsciously touched her face. Da Hu and Xiao Yu had once told her the birthmark on her face looked like a red flower, but she never expected these white clouds to think the same thing... Wait a minute!

The clouds were talking!

She knew that on the Beastman Continent, beasts could transform into people and talk, but Yu An was still shocked to see sentient clouds.

"Don’t be afraid," the man explained. "They’re Cloud Beasts, a part of this manor."

"You can pet them. They should feel very soft."

Before he even finished speaking, a Cloud Beast floated over and hovered in Yu An’s palm. She instinctively stroked it. It was incredibly soft, just like cotton!

But...

"Why did you say they ’should’ feel soft? Have you never touched them?"

Yu An challenged.

The man rubbed his nose. "No. They... don’t really like me."

’How strange. He’s the master of this manor, yet the creatures living in it actually dislike him.’

"Ahem, let’s not talk about that," the man said, quickly changing the subject. "Let me show you the rest."

He led Yu An away.

While they were touring the manor, Lan Yin finally broke free of his chains. He frowned at his tattered tail before swimming swiftly toward the surface.

When he returned to the place where he and Yu An had been separated, she was gone. Lan Yin clenched the short vine in his hand and tossed it into the air.

Yu An had tossed it to him when they were holding hands. The vine grew rapidly in the air, instantly climbing from the sea’s surface all the way to the clouds.

Lan Yin’s tail transformed back into legs, which were now covered in wounds of all sizes. He seized the vine and began to climb upward.

’Xiao Yu can’t lose his Female Mother. I have to save Yu An!’
