Chapter 110: Chapter 110 Shameless Display

"We’ve already investigated this matter. It was an accident."

Liam had always despised Thorne and his siblings. They were pathetic, constantly whining, living off their mate’s wealth while carrying on affairs with her cousin.

No backbone, corrupt with authority, absolutely worthless.

"An accident?" Beatrix’s voice cracked with rage. "Are you certain it wasn’t murder?"

"Mind your tone, Ms. Greeley," Liam’s warning cut through the air like a blade. "Security throughout the Valerion Empire remains unmatched. Such accusations only spread panic. Compensation will be arranged shortly. Retrieve the bodies at your convenience."

The call ended. Liam rubbed his temples.

"Your Majesty... why burden me with this mess? Such a headache."

Still... the circumstances surrounding those three deaths seem questionable...

"The Queen ordered no further investigation," came a voice. Morgan had appeared.

Liam glanced up. "When did you return?"

Despite all being Rosalind’s consorts, Morgan remained elusive. Liam hadn’t encountered him in ages.

"Recently."

Morgan positioned himself against the desk, half his features concealed behind a mask, wearing that subtle, calculating smirk.

"What’s this about halting the investigation?" Liam demanded. "The Valerion Empire borders the Nexus World. Our defenses surpass every other fleet! If someone infiltrated and executed them despite our security... The Queen’s protection—"

Morgan’s quiet laughter interrupted him. "Relax. I’ve already reinforced capital security. Besides, what befell the Blackwood brothers shouldn’t shock anyone. Remember—they traveled to Waste-mire World."

"Insectoids?" Liam gasped and shot to his feet.

Morgan’s grin widened. "Now you understand."

With that, Morgan vanished once more. Lingering any longer would have triggered his laughter.

"Trevor, you fool. You could have simply eliminated them. Why drag the corpses back? You’ve spent too much time in Glimmeraven Port—actually believing you’re some sort of savior now."

Kaelen’s POV

Beyond the Voidferal Feral Territory barriers, Silas strolled in without concern. His flimsy, translucent white shirt revealed practically everything. The bite marks covering his throat were completely exposed.

Exactly as anticipated—the moment he wheeled the meal cart inside, Julian and I greeted him with hostile glares.

"Reeks in here," I snarled, my claws creating harsh scraping sounds against the floor.

"Absolutely shameless," Julian hissed, his gills flaring with rage. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖

This rabbit is deliberately provoking us! Yesterday’s display wasn’t sufficient—he’s returned for another performance today!

Silas simply smiled with narrowed eyes. Our insults didn’t faze him—if anything, he seemed to relish them.

"Appreciate the compliments. I’m simply more fortunate than others," he replied smoothly. "General Kaelen, you’re referring to this mark on my throat? Ah yes, Elara left it. She’s quite mischievous. I mentioned delivering meals and requested she refrain... but she ignored me. Rather embarrassing, truly."

While speaking, he placed breakfast through the slot. When he raised his arm, his sleeve revealed additional marks and scratches across his forearm and torso.

Julian fell silent.

That shameless rabbit! He’s absolutely doing this intentionally!

Silas’s smile broadened. He hadn’t expected us to maintain such composure. If everyone remained this reasonable, how could he persuade Elara to depart with him alone?

Silas hadn’t abandoned his original scheme.

Despite agreeing to return with Elara, he wanted one final attempt. Nothing risked, nothing gained.

Julian finally struck. A torrent of water mixed with ice fragments flew toward Silas.

Silas casually deflected it.

"You’re aquatic," he stated coldly. "On dry land, you’re powerless."

He reached over and deactivated the surveillance camera. Then he glanced toward my cell. "So, General Kaelen? How about you?"

His provocation was obvious.

To his surprise, I leaned back and laughed. "Impressive, Dr. Pendragon. You’re clever. But a rabbit? You’re beneath my attention."

"Very well, General Kaelen. As you wish."

Next came Dorian. The young leopard gazed at Silas with wide, bewildered eyes.

"Dr. Pendragon? Why are you bringing our food? Were you just fighting with General Julian and General Kaelen?"

Silas smiled. "Exactly, Your Highness."

"This child is so pure and adorable. No wonder my darling adores him."

Remembering Dorian’s youth, Silas refrained from taunting him. After delivering the meal, he even produced chocolate and offered it.

Silas reminded him, "Don’t forget to brush afterward!"

Dorian simply stared in confusion.

Then Barrett appeared. Barrett maintained his composed, courteous smile. Upon seeing Silas, he nodded briefly.

A classic case of pleasant exterior, furious interior. Adults mastered this—remaining perfectly calm while seething inside.

Silas nodded in return, one hand in his pocket. Neither wanted to alarm Dorian. Elara cherished the little leopard, so they wouldn’t distress him.

Alistair had vanished. Silas pushed the cart toward Chamber Six. He’d assumed the day was nearly finished... Then Finnian acted!

Finnian had finally reached his limit with this rabbit. Being expelled from the group. Yesterday’s photograph. Today’s showing off.
