Chapter 688: Chapter 314: Gaia Divinity

The origin of the replica plane needs to be traced back to five years ago, when the identity of the Bright Society was first exposed, and the four major organizations of the Realm of Reason were very dissatisfied with the existence of the Bright Society.

The conflict between the two sides led to chaos in the middle layer.

"Stop, stop, stop!"

Wu Chang immediately pressed the pause button; the beginning of the video made him feel difficult to digest, as if he skipped an entire season of a TV series and directly started watching the second sequel’s trailer.

"Can someone explain to me why we’re discussing the Desolate Realm’s replica, but you suddenly jump to Bright Society, the middle layer, and Realm of Reason? Can you give me a little recap?"

"Even if I can understand, others who see this won’t be able to understand."

Grace blinked, momentarily unable to think of how to reply, and could only look toward Mavira for help.

Mavira adjusted her glasses and adopted a stance like teaching history, saying, "The story is somewhat lengthy and needs to start from the abnormality in the initial public area of the Realm of Reason."

Wu Chang interrupted, "No need to be so detailed, just briefly explain, hopefully in a paragraph."

Mavira: ...

"The recap is that the Bright Society, in order to completely control the Realm of Reason, has been conducting secret experiments on the middle layer plane. A player from the Desolate Realm accidentally intruded and picked the fruit, exposing the existence of the Bright Society; from then on, the Bright Society became a semi-exposed organization."

Wu Chang clicked his tongue, thinking it was a bit too concise.

However, he noticed that the video mentioned the exposure of the Bright Society’s existence five years ago, and Mavira also mentioned it was because a player from the Desolate Realm stormed in and picked the fruit of the Bright Society’s research.

Considering it’s the Bright Society’s secret research center, not a public restroom, a player from the Desolate Realm managing to enter the middle layer and then access the Bright Society’s secret research to pick fruit, such a player could not possibly be unknown.

Combined with the five years ago timeline, there seemed to be only one player who stood out.

Wu Chang tentatively asked, "The player from the Desolate Realm you mentioned, wouldn’t be called Painter, would it?"

Mavira thought for a moment and said, "Though there is no definitive conclusion on the intruder’s identity, based on the intelligence we’ve received, it should be him."

Wu Chang almost laughed; the reason Painter was stuck in the Desolate Realm, hesitant to move to the Realm of Reason, had been found.

Unexpectedly, there was a conflict between Painter and the Bright Society; it ended up being a dog-bites-dog situation.

Wu Chang said, "I basically understand the situation, you can continue."

Mavira stopped the video from continuing, suggesting, "Since I’ve already started explaining to you, I’ll narrate the rest."

Mavira had very valid reasons, but Wu Chang saw the excitement in her eyes, feeling that not continuing the video wasn’t for convenience, but because her lecture addiction kicked in.

He had heard Amber complain more than once; Mavira was the hardest lecturer to end a class at Nokes Primary School.

These two Miracle Walkers got too absorbed in their roles.

Mavira continued the recap and started talking about Amber.

She mentioned earlier that the Bright Society had set up many secret research centers in the middle layer.

Their goal was to artificially cultivate Divine Seeds.

Awakening divinity is extremely difficult; ninety-nine percent of the beings in the Abyss Second Layer cannot awaken divinity on their own and need to absorb the divinity left by deceased gods to transform it for their use.

The Bright Society somehow found a way to condense Imaginary Divinity.

They haunted various planes, abducting native people from those planes to use as experimental subjects for nurturing divinity.

They injected Imaginary Divinity into these subjects and through various stimulations and selections, merged the Imaginary Divinity with the subjects, allowing the subjects to hatch the Imaginary Divinity into reality.

Once the Imaginary Divinity matures and transitions from falsehood to reality, the Bright Society would harvest the matured divinity.

Upon hearing this, Wu Chang had an epiphany; no wonder the people appearing within the Bright Society are all named after gods of the Blue Star, with similar powers.

He had previously suspected that whether the gods from Blue Star mythology actually existed and that their divinity had fallen on the Blue Star to be picked up by anyone.

Now it seems those divinities were merely conjured by the Bright Society.

Since the topic had reached this point, Wu Chang followed up by asking, "Did Painter pick a mature divinity?"

Mavira shook her head and said, "He seized an item that condenses Imaginary Divinity."

Wu Chang’s expression turned strange; this was not picking fruit, this was uprooting the entire tree.

Leave some room when dealing with matters, so you can meet again, Hakki, you fellow.

The conflict between him and Joy, at most, involved the competition for treasure, whereas Painter openly robbed, making Painter’s conflict with the Bright Society more substantial.

Seeing Wu Chang had no further questions, Mavira continued.

After Painter took the treasure, to disperse the focus, he exposed the existence of the Bright Society.

At the time, the four major organizations did not know the true strength of the Bright Society; upon learning an organization capable of stable divinity harvesting was hidden right under their noses, they couldn’t sit still.

The four major organizations expressed their need to inspect the secret research centers, check if the Bright Society violated Abyss human rights, and announced that they would take appropriate measures based on the severity of the situation.

Including but not limited to confiscating crime tools, sealing crime sites, detaining criminals, and taking away all case-related records as evidence.

The Bright Society, having grown formidable, certainly couldn’t cooperate with the four major organizations, thus leading to a fierce battle where both sides were wounded.

It was because of that battle that the four major organizations discovered many geniuses who had disappeared quietly over the years actually joined the Bright Society discreetly.
