After learning why Ray was storing water, Sydney ran off to inform her friends after her meal but she was still angry with her mates.

She found Sia and her friends seated under the tree in the city centers shades.

Sia!" she called out happily. Sia also looked her way and smiled. She had become plump because of her pregnancy and such moments were rare for her to be outside.

Why are you here?" Sia asked as she made place for Sydney to sit. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎

I have something important to share with you. Ask your mates’ to store water for the dry season."

Why? Is something wrong? I’ve been seeing Ray go back akd forth with huge stone buckets of water." Sia said. She was not sure why but she thought it was another of Sydney’s projects.

The drought might be too strong and the rivers and lakes will dry out. Also store enough food, it’s better to be safe and sorry!" Sydney advised her. She looked at the other females and nodded at them. They could also ask their males to do the same.

After passing the information, she left and went to visit the school. By the time she got there, it was almost evening and the cubs were getting ready for their hunting classes. All of them had left their classes and were playing about in the compound.

Upon seeing her, a large group of cubs sprinted over to where she was. Sydney was so happy that she lowered herself to limit the impact of a possible fall when they ran into her.

Hello!" She rubbed the heads of those that were nearest to her and smiled happily. Soft purrs and growls along with a few hisses could be heard from them.

A tiger beastman came over and stood at the side looking at Sydney. She remembered he was the one in charge of these little ones.

"Oh...you are here to take them?" She asked with a smile.

The beastman blushed when she smiled at him and shook his head. We’ve been waiting for you during the past days to read stories but you didn’t come. The cubs were happy to see you." He said honestly despite he himself anxiously waiting. He liked Sydney alot but he wasn’t worthy of her attention and he knew it. Hence, he could only settle for the time he got to spend with her when she dropped by. And when she read those fascinating stories, his heart would thump wildly!

"I’m afraid I won’t be able to read to them today." Sydney said as she stood up. She looked at the tiger beastman, his eyes darted around before he kept them on the ground. "I’ll see you guys another time! Okay?" she said to the little one’s before she turned on her heels to go find her brother.

Unfortunately, Scott wasn’t in his office and he had gone out with Hamp and a few other beastmen.

She had no other choice but to return home since even her pad was full and she needed to change it. When she got home, she saw a familiar figure in the courtyard. It was Carlos! She rushed over with a smile on her face and found that he was talking with Caden.

Father!" she greeted him and Carlos diverted his full attention to her. He smiled and greeted back.

Why are you outside? Why did you not come inside?" She asked as she looked at Caden.

I’m only here for a while. Caden had something to share and I was in the area so I dropped by. How are you doing?" He asked after explaining himself. It wasn’t really necessary but this was Sydney.

Everytime he didn’t see her for a few days, she’d become more and more beautiful and his heart would ran wild in his chest. Luckily, only he could hear it!

Caden who was at the sidelines looked at Sydney seeing she was no longer angry and she was even smiling. He felt relieved! She had ran off earlier and he head to keep watch on her from high up in the sky and only returned when Carlos dropped by.

Before Caden could catch the infatuated eyes Carlos had over Sydney, Carlos had already looked away and swallowed the bitter feeling. What could he do? He was the one that pushed her into his nephew’s hands! And now that his longing for her grew every day, all he could do was keep it in the pit of his stomach forever!

"I get it. I’ll let the others know about this matter and make the necessary preparations. Thank you for sharing such important news." Carlos said and bid his farewell immediately.

The majestic eagle disappeared before her eyes and Sydney could I let oet out a silent sigh. She wasn’t blind nor stupid, nor oblivious towards Carlos’s emotions. She noticed this when he saved her when she was running with the two lion brothers while escaping the stray beasts. When she learnt of this matter, she was petrified but now, she could only pretend not to have seen him at all.

She came back from her long thoughts only to find herself in Caden’s arms. He carried her up to her bedroom before setting her down gently. He then stood up and went to the stone boxed and drew it open and took out deseeded cotton and a new set of knickers for her.

"What’s up with Ray?" Sydney asked not liking the silence. I thought he said he had his own female but then I see him around the house alot and you guys aren’t saying anything." She pointed out.

"Don’t you like him?" Caden asked standing up then walking towards her. He had her change of clothes in his hands.

Sydney frowned at the question she was fired with. Initially, she really did like him but when she learnt that he had a female, she withdrew her interest. "What of his female he talked about?" Sydney went in a roundabout manner.

"Are you dumb? Caden gently flicked her head. Sydney let out a surprised cry and held her forehead. "What was that for?" It was wrong!

"You are the female he was talking about." Caden said honestly after all, Ray knew alot about Sydney more than them! Even the fact that she went into hear every month was disclosed by him leaving them shocked. He knew alot about her from the foods she liked to what she hated, he even told them how she liked sparkly things. This was proved by Titan and they couldn’t argue otherwise. Although he didn’t give them definite answers from where he knew her, the familiarity he had with the house structure removed their doubts.

Now all they could do was watch him.

Sydney was puzzled hearing Caden’s answer. The female Ray was talking about was her? How? Before she met him in the forest, she honestly didn’t know anything about him! She only brought him back out of pity.

"Is he a stalker?" Sydney mumbled.

"Haha!" Caden could only laugh. ’He said you’d say that!’ Caden thought to himself.

He walked to the side of the room and brought her a small stone basin. He helped place a new cotton for her in her knickers and handed them to her. Knowing she didn’t like looking at her, he turned around and didn’t looked at her.

Sydney cleaned herself and changed before squatting at the stone basin and washing her panties. "So tell me...are you guys accepting him now?" She asked focused on her chores.

"We tried to kick him out but he was really stubborn. He said that he killed for us so we had to be responsible for him." Caden answered.

"Shameless!" Sydney swore. Who asked him to kill without question? Now he’s pinning all the blame on us? Shameless!!! "You say you tried...did you beat him up good?" Sydney asked. More than saying they tried, she felt like they didn’t even do a single thing!

Caden had nothing to say in his defense since Ray actually helped them. He even couldn’t tell her how he ordered them around after learning that she had passed out from pain during her heat.

"I see. But my hands are currently full. I already have five mates so I can’t take in more. Ray isn’t bad himself. If you guys have no objection then he can stick around." She said with a shrug of her shoulders.

It wasn’t until dusk when Ash and the others returned. Sydney didn’t know where they had been off to but it seemed like they were tired. They had dinner and went to bed in silence. Sydney lay in bed amidst her mates who had perfectly cocooned. Though it was faint, she had smelt the scent of blood from them!

Where had they gone off to? Also, it was unusual for her brother to not be at school but he wasn’t there! She sighed. She was curious but she couldn’t poke her nose into their business as this would bring about another argument.
