Chapter 100: Chapter 100 - Going Home

The next morning, Theo woke up even earlier than usual.

For a moment, he lay there, staring at the ceiling.

’’Theo!’’

A voice suddenly echoed out behind his door.

Two loud knocks followed only seconds later.

’’Get up!’’

Theo pushed himself up, snapping out of his daze.

’’Yes,’’ he shouted back.

’’We need to hurry up!’’ Owen shouted again. ’’The jet’s leaving an hour earlier than expected!’’

Theo’s eyes widened for a moment.

Then he jumped out of bed.

Over the next few minutes, he quickly got dressed and gathered his stuff.

Just as he was about to step out of his room, his eyes fell on the spatial tokens on his desk.

For a moment, he paused.

’...I guess I’ll take them,’ he thought, pushing them into his pockets. ’Just in case something does end up happening there...’

His fingers tightened around the tokens.

Ever since yesterday, a bad feeling had settled in his stomach.

But at least, with the circle still in his room, he would have a perfect emergency exit.

He let out a quiet breath before stepping out into the hallway.

Owen was already there, pacing back and forth with his bag slung over his shoulder.

’’Finally,’’ he said, glancing at Theo. ’’Thought you fell back asleep or something.’’

Theo shook his head.

’’Nope,’’ he responded. ’’Just gathering some more stuff.’’

Owen scoffed with a small grin on his face.

’’I’d say that too if I were you... but I never oversleep, so I don’t need to.’’

A vein popped on Theo’s forehead.

’This guy,’ he thought. ’He was too late for practically the last three school years we had.’

’’Maybe move instead of talking so much.’’

Owen shrugged, his sledgehammer thudding lightly against the wall.

’’Just saying,’’ he started. ’’I’ve been waiting on you a lot lately.’’

Theo rolled his eyes, already walking past him.

Owen let out a short laugh and followed right behind.

The two of them didn’t waste any more time.

They quickly headed downstairs and stepped outside, where a car was already waiting for them at the curb.

Within seconds, they were inside, and the car pulled away from the building.

The streets were still relatively quiet, the early morning traffic only just starting to pick up.

Owen leaned back in his seat, stretching slightly.

’’Still can’t believe Adrian let us use his jet for this,’’ he muttered. ’’Feels a bit too generous for him.’’

Theo glanced out the window, watching the city slowly pass by.

For a moment, he remained silent.

Then a grin appeared on his face.

’’Maybe you’ve become a precious disciple of his.’’

Owen blinked once.

Then scoffed.

’’Yeah. Right!’’

Theo let out a soft chuckle.

Within five minutes, the car slowed down near the university’s airport.

Unlike their arrival, the airport was in full motion now.

Countless students were leaving and arriving with their private jets and even entire airplanes.

Owen let out a soft whistle, just looking at it.

’’Too many of those richies here,’’ he said.

...

A few dozen minutes later, the two of them sat in Adrian’s jet.

The engine was already roaring loudly underneath them.

Owen held a piece of paper in front of him, his complexion pale.

’’Be careful with everything you touch!’’ he said, holding it up.

’’If his jet’s a mess, he’ll rough me up when we get back.’’

Theo glanced at the paper for a moment before leaning back in his chair.

’’I don’t think you should be worried about me.’’

Owen shot him an annoyed look.

’’Right,’’ he said sarcastically, raising his hands. ’’I’m the slob.’’

The smile on Theo’s face grew even wider.

He raised his glass of iced tea slightly.

’’Touché.’’

Owen clicked his tongue, but a faint smirk still tugged at his lips.

’’Yeah, yeah... just don’t spill that,’’ he said, pointing at the glass.

Theo didn’t respond, taking a small sip instead.

Just like that, time slowly passed by.

Both of them ended up getting some more rest in.

Eventually, Owen cleared his throat slightly.

’’What’s up?’’ Theo asked, tilting his head.

’’About David...’’ he said slowly. ’’What’s your plan for him?’’

Theo narrowed his eyes and glanced over at a display screen inside the jet.

’’You’re going to ask about that despite there only being a few minutes left?’’

Owen fell silent for a moment, glancing back at the time.

Turning back, he couldn’t help but scratch his cheek.

’’Kinda just thought about it,’’ he said hesitantly.

’’But with all the bullshit going on, I thought it’d be smart for me to prepare myself.’’

Theo looked at him for a moment.

Then he leaned back in his seat again.

’’Fair enough,’’ he said.

His eyes narrowed slightly.

’’David... I’m going to provoke him and his family even further.’’

Owen blinked.

His eyes widened.

’’What...? Are you crazy?’’

He stood up.

’’You know what kind of influence they have now... and you’re still going to do this?’’

Theo nodded silently.

’’Even with all that,’’ he said calmly. ’’I don’t want my father to be their slave any longer.’’

Owen fell silent for a moment.

Finally, he locked eyes with him again.

’’And provoking them is going to help you how?’’

Theo simply nodded, a smile growing on his face.

’’You’ll see.’’

Owen stared at him.

Finally, he dragged a hand over his face and let out a deep sigh.

’’Whatever,’’ he said. ’’Just know I’ll be there to help if you need.’’

With that, he threw himself back in his seat.

The sudden movement knocked his arm against the small table.

His full glass of coke tipped over instantly.

A dark splash spread across the table, dripping down the side onto the floor.

For a moment, both of them just stared at it.

Owen’s eyes slowly widened.

’’...For fuck’s sake.’’

The last few minutes were spent with Owen pressing down tissues, muttering curses under his breath as he tried to clean up the mess.

Finally, the jet landed smoothly at the familiar hidden airport.

As the two stepped outside, they smiled warmly.

Four familiar faces were already waiting for them.
