Seoha’s POV

Next day

’You’re not going to work while you’re burning up like that’ was the last thing my protective best friend said before leaving for work.

Unfortunately, I can’t sit still at home.

I need to go to work, I want to talk to Junho and more importantly...I want to be around Taesan.

At the thought of the alpha’s name and the fuzzy feeling that follows, my omega starts to purr, and I shake my head.

"No kissing, no touching, no...ah, this is so hard" I say to my reflection before running my fingers through my hair.

I press my palm to my forehead, feeling the heat burning under my skin, but it doesn’t matter...it’s not that serious.

"Focus" I say and look down at my dressing again.

I’m wearing Minjae’s clothes, and they are not what I’m used to, they are more exposing than my usual baggy style.

I’m putting on a blue shirt that dips low enough to show my collar bone, and a pair of black pants that are tight around my small waist.

"Okay, fighting" I say to myself to boost confidence before leaving, I don’t know which version of Taesan that will greet me today.

The cold CEO? The aggressive captain? The tsundere Taesan?

As soon as I step out of the old apartment, I run into Hanbin, and I pause for a minute.

The man is leaning against a streetlamp with both of his hands in his pockets.

"You’re back" he says and pushes himself off the streetlamp.

"Yes..." I say awkwardly, I haven’t seen him since the day he took me to Lord Kang’s home.

"Thank you for your help that day" I say, bowing my head in appreciation and he nods, "be careful from now on, that man doesn’t take things lying down"

"But we gave him the guitar, what else can he possibly want?" I ask and Hanbin hums, "wait and see" he says.

His eyes seem distracted for a moment before he looks at my face again, wearing that practiced smile.

"You look good, little brother" he says and my heart skips a beat.

Little brother...I really do have a hyung, I still don’t know if this is real or not, but I don’t mind it.

"Thank you" I whisper and clear my throat, "come on, I’ll drive you" he says and points to his car.

"How do you know where I’m going to?" I ask him.

"I know a lot of things Seoha-ya" he says as his expression turns dark, not in a scary way, but in a sad way.

"It’ll break my heart if you’re lying about being my brother" I mutter and he gives that smile again.

It’s awkward and funny looking, like he’s just learning how to smile, and it makes me think...so I’m not the only broken child of my father...

"I will gain nothing from a lie like this, come with me" he says and I follow him to the car, getting in and leaning against the soft seat.

The man drives me to work quietly and carefully, and when I get lost in thought, I start to hum Seventeen’s Our Dawn Is Hotter Than Summer.

"Don’t you want me to play music?" he asks and I smile at his stiff attempt at being kind, "no, it’s okay" I say.

Once we get to Mountain Atelier, I get out of the car, and just in time, Taesan comes out of a luxurious car parked a small distance away from us.

The alpha is frozen as he looks at me, and I stay frozen too as I stare at him...what’s going on?

His dark eyes stray from me to Hanbin who’s still in the car.

The tension radiating off him is so strong that I don’t dare to move an inch. My alpha stares at Hanbin for a long time before he slams his car door shut.

Junho gets out of the passenger seat, looking at Hanbin and I as his boss walks away.

What was that?

I look at Hanbin with worry and he doesn’t seem to care about what just happened.

"Hyung, see you later" I say and he gives me a nod before driving out.

Junho hasn’t left yet, he folds his arms across his chest, standing there like he’s waiting for me.

"Hello" he greets and I go over to him, "hi hyung"

"Hmm, you and ghost are getting close?" he asks and I look back at the car that just left the driveway.

"Yes" I say in a small voice, the man nods slowly, he looks at the floor as if he’s about to say something but he doesn’t know how to start.

"Minjae" we both say at the same time, and he curses under his breath, "go ahead" he says.

"My best friend has feelings for you, I know you overheard everything yesterday...and I know you and miss Yuki..."

"Me and Yuki have nothing to do with each other" he says quickly and I blink in surprise, "but..."

"Oh...you don’t know" he says and I frown.

"Yuki was the one that permitted Sooin to go to man’s place in the first place with Jaemin" he explains and I cover my mouth with my hands.

"What? I gave Sooin back to her..." I trail off, remembering how Yuki just stood there next to lord Kang, to me she had looked like a hostage.

I rub my nose bridge as I remember how I asked Yuki to take Sooin to safety, not knowing that she was the one who put the child in that position in the first place.

"Wow...I feel so stupid" I say and Junho gives a tired smile.

"It’s okay, Ghost made sure Yuki took her home safely, that experience is gone" he says and I drop my hands by my side.

"That’s really a lot" I say.

Too many webs, too much information, and I don’t think I’m ready to delve into anything messy again for now.

"I’m glad everything is okay now...right?" I ask and Junho gives a sad smile.

"You have other things to worry about, Seoha..." he says and jerks his chin towards the entrance that Taesan just walked through.

"Why?" I ask in confusion.

"Go in and find out...erm...do you think Minjae likes strawberry drinks?" he asks, rubbing at his chin and I grin at him.

"You too hyung, go and find out" I say, sticking my tongue out at him, and Junho actually lets out a small laugh.

"Seoha-ya...I didn’t leave because of anything yesterday; I got nervous and felt like a thief for listening in on your conversation" he explains.

"Oh...I understand, Minjae too was nervous, please...my best friend is more fragile than he acts" I say and the beta nods seriously.

"I’ll make sure to treat him well" he says.

"See you later hyung" I bow and leave for the building.

I’m so glad that he wants to try with Minjae. My best friend acts like he doesn’t care, but I know he does, and I hope it works out for them.

I sigh and brush my hands over my clothes to smooth them.

Time to face what is waiting for me...
