Bloodmancer in the Jurassic Era: I use my Dinos to seduce Human mates
Chapter 283: Choking out a 100kg Brown Eagle
Spiteful in its very definition, Anna held on to the bird, choking it out. Her right hand had two broken fingers, and it burned like a motherfucker, but she wasn't bothered by it. In fact, it inspired her to fight harder.
The bird, which looked like an odd, humongous version of a bald eagle, except its feathers were brown all over, including its head, was losing the fight.
It tried to screech, but only gasped, as if it was trying to fight through a dry cough.
The lack of oxygen got to its head by now, and it was finally giving in. It did not expect the hairless apes to fight back so violently, and consistently, with their bare palms.
Although its intelligence may be limited, today the odd eagle learned what opposable thumbs were capable of.
It crashed to the ground, and it no longer had the strength to fight back, or flap its wings.
As the bird struggled to breathe, giving out its final kicks, Anna's smile stretched out like the world's most devious psychopath. She was thirty meters, or close to one-hundred feet away from the safehouse, as they've thrashed across the jungle violently, but she didn't care.
All she cared about were the comforting wheezing sounds the brown eagle made. It was like a melody in her ear, releasing happy hormones across her head, numbing the pain.
"That's right…" She wheezed herself, "I don't fucking care that you have feathers, you're going to be Jimmy's coat today."
Anna looked to her right, and saw a huge dinosaur approaching.
At first she panicked, and debated if she should let go of the bird and run, but within her hurricane of emotions, sour and sweet, she recognized the dinosaur. It was Almara.
"There you are, you fucking puddle," She grunted.
Almara walked over, and stepped on the eagle's back, crushing its spine, killing it on the spot, seconds before the bird could've died from the lack of oxygen.
Anna let go of the bird, and stood up. She had been on its back by now, and Almara put her life at risk just there, because her large foot swooped in a single foot away from Anna's feet.
"I could've used your help a little earlier," She sighed in relief, "I killed the bird already."
Almara cawed in response, and growled. She was not happy, but when she saw Jimmy walk into the scene a few seconds later, jumping above vines and bushes as if his leg hadn't been torn open a minute ago, Almara started chirping happily.
She was happy that her guests were alive, and after that point, she hovered over them like the world's fattest shield. She didn't want them to get hurt again.
"Anna…" Jimmy hugged her, "I thought I lost you."
"I thought I lost you," She parroted, "Why on Earth didn't you blow its stupid heart up?"
"I tried, but I couldn't concentrate," He answered, "The damn eagle was over me before I could tell what was going on. I tried to keep my head on my shoulders."
"It's alright, I killed it," She said, "Or at least I think I did. Almara might fight me for credits over the kill."
"I'm just happy you're okay," He said, "Looking an eagle like that in the eye, and punching the shit out of it has to be the most badass thing I ever heard of. You're really fearless, are you?"
"I'm not scared of no bird," She smiled, "You should've known that I'd have it over our campfire the moment the bird hurt you. I'd wrestle a Titanoboa for you, dumbass."
"I'd do that for you too." He smiled, "I'd lose, but I'd wrestle it to the death."
"No need, baby girl," Anna chuckled.
Jimmy ignored her quite intentful reaction, and focused on her wounds. He noticed that her right hand was nearly frozen in place, so he was immediately aware that it was broken. Her wingers were, at least, and that was what he discovered as he tapped into her heartbeat.
"Turn around," He then said, "Six branches are stabbing into your back. You're lucky a branch didn't gut you right open… I don't even think the Gods could fix that."
"The last thing I'd want right now is help from the Gods," She groaned.
Jimmy pulled the branches out of her back. Blood poured out every time, but he wasn't worried. The branches weren't too thick anyway, they were mere sticks, and since they didn't hit any organs either, he managed to get her into top shape in less than a minute, and it only cost him ten percent of his mana.
He was efficient, and he performed precisely as if he was a grad student trying to prove himself. He even healed the tiny portions of nerves around her hand, nerve damage that would've easily escaped unnoticed for a while.
"There you go," He sighed, "You're now as healthy as the day I met you."
"Haha," She laughed sarcastically, "I was a twig back then… are you calling me thin?"
"No, you're perfect," He smiled.
Anna turned around, and finally noticed the large hole on Jimmy's shoulder.
"What the fuck!" She exclaimed, "Jimmy, heal yourself! How were you even moving your arm?"
"Oh?" He grunted, confused, "Forgot that was there. No bother."
Seconds later, he sealed off his own wound. He managed to generate the bone pieces that the bird had likely chowed down.
It didn't take a lot of effort, as his mana pool efficiency had improved significantly over the weeks. He healed so many people back home, that he was certain he could generate another leg for himself if he lost it, and assuming he survived the amputation.
A hole close to his collar bone was nothing. Adrenaline had kept him on his feet so effectively that he had forgotten about the wound all together.
After that horrid battle, and its aftermath, he still had fifty-five percent of his mana pool to spare, and use when necessary. Though he was hoping that he wouldn't need to use it anytime soon, because if a bird fucked him up this bad, he was horrified of experiencing what other bigger animals were capable of.
"My God… you could've bled out, Jimmy," She sniffed, upset.
"I thought you didn't need the help of the Gods," He joked.
"I wasn't asking for it," She said, "But if I lost you, know that I'd stab myself in the head shortly after. You're not going anywhere without me."
"Calm down, I'm not going anywhere," He hugged her once more, "Literally, I can't go anywhere. My leg feels funny, I gotta have another look at it."
