Chapter 189: Terrifying Void Shock I
Demon Country
In this land ruled by demons, there was no need for disguise. Demons roamed freely in their true forms, some sleeping, some fighting, and others sneaking into the towns where human were kept, feasting to their heart’s content.
Savage. Chaotic. Cruel.
Yet, the deeper one went into the heart of the Demon Country, the more orderly it appeared. The street were filled with human figures walking to and fro, not a single demon in sight.
Ethan knew better.
This was nothing but a facade. Beneath those appearance lurked their true demonic forms.
The reason was simple, it was all due to the whim of that Demon King. After occupying Varkesh’s Provincial City, it had declared it the Demon Capital. Then, imitating the Velmora Dynasty, it established a court, an imperial palace, and ranks of civil and military officials, everything structured and complete.
"Like monkeys dressed in human clothes," Ethan sneered inwardly.
No matter how polished the surface looked, it couldn’t change the nature of demons. The entire setup felt unnatural and absurd.
Suddenly, as if sensing something, Ethan halted mid patrol. His expression sharpened, and without hesitation, he rushed toward the city gate at full speed.
"Green Snake Leader?"
The group of subordinates looked confused, but none of them dared to hesitate. They quickly followed behind him.
The Green Snake Demon that Ethan had transformed into was at least mid level demon. With that strength, he had already risen to the position of a leader within the Demon Country, commanding dozens of low level demons.
Over the past three days, Ethan had gathered a considerable amount of intelligence.
Today was the Demon Country’s court assembly. The Demon King, along with most of the high ranking officials, would gather in the Demon Capital. It was the perfect chance to eliminate them all in one strike.
After receiving Noah’s message, how could Ethan afford to delay? He chose to retreat immediately. As for whether his action would arouse suspicion, he no longer cared.
Soon, the group left Demon Capital and traveled Fifty Kilometers before finally coming to a stop.
"This should be far enough."
Ethan let out a breath of relief. Noah had told him to get as far away as possible, and he hadn’t dared to hesitate. If he got caught in a clash between powerhouses, death would be the least of his worries, it would mean failing the instance entirely.
"Green Snake Leader, why did you bring us here?" one of the demons asked cautiously.
"Oh right, I almost forgot about you."
Ethan’s lips curled into a sinister smile. With a single thought, a massive Green Snake, hundreds of meters long, appeared instantly. Its tail swept out, tearing apart the human disguises of the demons and exposing their true forms.
"It’s much more satisfying to fight you like this," Ethan said coldly as he lunged forward.
These were only low-level demons. In front of him, now fully transformed into a Green Snake Demon, they were nothing more than prey.
...
At the same time, Noah arrived above the Demon Capital, a streak of lightning tearing through the sky.
With a casual wave of his hand, a violent force swept downward. The Imperial City below was struck as if by a raging storm, roof tiles ripped away and scattered into the air.
"How dare you!"
An angry roar echoed from within the Imperial City.
Noah glanced down and saw a man in a yellow robe seated on the dragon throne inside the palace, his expression dark and oppressive. Below him stood rows of officials in formal robes, all glaring coldly upward.
If Noah hadn’t already known the truth about the Demon Country, he might have thought he had entered the wrong place.
"Where did this ignorant human come from, daring to trespass into our Demon Country?"
"Colleagues, no need to worry. I’ll capture him myself and tear out his heart and liver to appease everyone."
"I’ll skin him alive and make him scream for ten days and ten nights before he dies."
The demons made no effort to hide their malice.
"Kill him," the Demon King said calmly, as if giving an order over something insignificant.
He acknowledged that this human possessed some strength.
But so what?
This was the Demon Capital, where hundreds of thousands of demons gathered. There were hundreds of mid-level demons alone. A single human, even a so-called Heavenly Rank Demon Executioner, had no chance of leaving alive.
"As you command."
Clusters of blood mist erupted as more than a dozen demons tore off their human disguises, revealing their massive true forms. Roaring, they lunged toward Noah.
The remaining demons didn’t move. In their eyes, those few were already more than enough.
Noah remained calm. Before the demons could even get close, he activated Void Shock.
A ripple of violent vibration spread out from him, instantly covering a twelve-kilometer radius and enveloping the entire Demon Capital.
The first wave swept across the city.
In an instant, the vast Demon Capital collapsed into ruins. Explosions of blood mist rose everywhere. Hundreds of thousands of demons were caught in the shock, torn apart before they even had the chance to shed their human skins and reveal their true forms.
A dense, suffocating fog of blood engulfed what remained of the city.
With just one activation of Void Shock, the Demon Capital was wiped out. Only the Demon King and a portion of mid-level demons survived, and even they were forced out of their human disguises, revealing their true forms.
The Demon King was a colossal wolf demon, towering a thousand meters tall, with the upper body of a wolf and the lower body of a human. It sat there like a black mountain.
But now, that "mountain" was completely still, stunned by the impact.
Before it could recover, the second wave of Void Shock arrived.
This time, the remaining mid-level demons all exploded.
The Demon King coughed up a mouthful of blood. Its aura weakened drastically, yet it was still unable to move.
Then came the third vibration.
Countless wounds tore open across its massive body, blood pouring out like a flood.
The fourth vibration followed.
Then the fifth.
After five consecutive waves, Noah immediately stopped. There was no choice, the energy consumption was simply too great.
But the results were just as overwhelming.
Even Noah was stunned.
The entire Demon Capital had been reduced to nothing but fine gravel. Hundreds of thousands of demons had been completely annihilated, turned into drifting blood mist.
Only the Demon King remained.
And even it was barely alive.
The moment Void Shock ended, its thousand-meter body collapsed heavily to the ground. There wasn’t a single intact patch of flesh left. In many places, bone was exposed, while vast portions of its body had already been torn apart into blood mist by the relentless vibrations.
