Breeding System:My Five Beast Husbands Want Heirs
Chapter 81: The condition
Yu Xuan went quiet. She felt insulted and enraged. What Mira said made sense and it bugged her to the bone that she was not the one who came up with it.
"If the Mighty Cheetah will allow me, I will devote myself into teaching the cheetahs how to farm and help save the clan from starvation." Mira continued. She knew Ming Tao would agree to this. If he wanted to touch her breasts again and have a shot at kissing her again, then he would be foolish to not agree to her statement.
Yu Xuan frowned. She knew a lost game when it showed up and this one smacked her in the face. She hated Mira so much and it was so obvious that it was alarming. Even in front of Mira’s husband, Yu Xuan’s hate was concrete.
So she had her own version of Patricia in the cheetah clan, hopefully, this one is not as dumb as that original Patricia.
"I permit, of course." Ming Tao said. His voice broke the silence in the room. The other council leaders began to murmur in protest. "No one here has brought up a better solution to our problem so unless anyone else has something in mind that is better than what my mate has suggested, I order you to keep your thoughts to yourselves and come to a final decision accepting this."
That was so sexy, Mira thought, Ming Tao put those people in their place and took her side. Forget the system, I want to fuck him on my own.
[Too bad without me, you would be dying from the thought of it.]
This made Mira frown. Haha, not funny, system, she responded in her mind.
[It is.]
Mira ignored. If she chose not to, she may lash out on system outwardly and this would make the council leaders think she was insane. 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂
"We have nothing to add." One of the men sat around the table said after a long silence following what Ming Tao said. "I agree to the decision to let the demo-, I mean, your mate carry on with this thing called farming. But under supervision." He said.
"Fair." Ming Tao stated. "Do we have a unanimous agreement on this?" Ming Tao asked. The council leaders exchanged glances with each other before nodding.
"I do." One said, raising his hand.
"As long as she is supervise." Another responded. This one was a woman. She raised her hand up too.
"Until a better solution is found." Another woman said. Some of the members in the council were young and others old, but it seemed like the hierarchy here was equal despite the age difference.
"As long as it bears fruit in the early stages. I suggest we keep an open mind without letting go of her track record of chaos." This one was a man. He made sense with his words. "If there is no good feedback from her solution, then it must be aborted. It is only on that stance that I place my agreement." He concluded.
"Done. That is wise." Ming Tao professed. Mira sighed. She wondered if Ming Tao said that to soothed the council leaders into voting for her or if part of him still doubted her. She did not know. She had not spent enough time with him to know.
The man who said that speech raised his hand. The others just raised their hands up, signifying their vote without saying a word. Now, all that was left was Yu Xuan.
Could her failure to be on board disrupt the flow of the vote? Mira asked herself. Did everything have to be unanimous before it was carried out? Mira also did not know the answer to this question and system was silent.
When she needed system to speak, system was silent, Mira thought with a pout.
[That is my charm. *wink wink*]
This made Mira almost lose it.
Mira returned her focus to Yu Xuan. The woman looked like she would rather eat sand for the rest of her life than agree to this and it was not comforting. Mira needed this to be approved otherwise, she would die.
The air in the room thickened as everyone waited on Yu Xuan. Yu Xuan sighed. "Until a better one is available, let us give this woman a chance. But on one condition."
This made Mira’s heart skip a beat. Of course Yu Xuan was the one who would make this difficult.
"State it." Ming Tao stated.
"I’d this goes wrong and causes more harm to our people than good, or any harm at all, this woman must leave the clan." Yu Xuan said.
Ming Tao pushed his torso off the seat as she said that. "That is insane! That is MY mate. And I am YOUR ruler. Her word is MY word."
This made Mira’s heart pound faster in her chest. Did Ming Tao really mean that? For someone who hated her before he left the pride, he was spouting a lot of non hateful words with her in his territory. People would assume he cared about Mira.
Maybe he did. Mira would never know, at least, not yet.
"Her record of chaos is not something to joke with. Your mate or not, we will not put several people at risk simply because she wants to do things her way. She has done terrible things to our clan in the past, we will not let our young or our grown ups relive it." Yu Xuan said more quietly this time like she didn’t want anyone outside the table to hear her.(
Mi g Tao had an obvious frown on his face. He hated that Yu Xuan was right. He hated everything about this. He did not want Mira to go.
Mira just looked at them. None of them were staring her way now, they all looked at each other, so she could not understand what was going on but there was tension in the room.
Yu Xuan must have said something to get Ming Tao explode like that. Mira noticed the other council leaders respond, just as quietly as Yu Xuan, in fact, she only knew they spoke because of their lips movement. Yu Xuan raised her hand. A wicked smile plastered her face. Everyone else stood up. It seemed the meeting was over.
Ming Tao made his way to Mira as they exited the room.
"So? What did they say?" Mira asked.
Ming Tap sighed. "You’re allowed to do you." He said. Mira’s face brightened.
This was great news. But. . . Why did he not look happy? Mira thought.
