Building The Perfect Harem With My Heavenly Desire System
Chapter 121: The Undying Fiend
Chapter 121
Kim quickly drew out a gun, and without any hesitation fired multiple consecutive shots directly at Alex at point blank range.
If anything as a professional hitman who had completed a lot of dangerous jobs and lived on the edge of danger everyday, had told him, it was that never give an opponent any chance to attack or escape.
Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!
But before that, the moment Alex saw Kim drawing out his gun to shoot, he turned a bit serious.
Normally he would have used his speed and agility to run along the side to avoid the incoming attack, but then, he decided that this was the perfect opportunity to finally test the new ability, Eyes Of Chronos.
He immediately activated the ability causing his green eyes to turn light purple, and faint clock like design to appear within them.
After that something wonderful happened, Alex’s vision was instantly thrust approximately seven point five seconds into the future.
Normally dodging multiple bullets at point blank range was practically impossible for most people. But to Alex, who already knew exactly where the bullets would be before they were even fired, it was as simple as eating a blue berry pott pie.
So with a smooth, maybe even effortlessly grace, Alex tilted his upper body three inches to the left, letting the first three bullets whizz past him.
Then he moved forward, ducking his head slightly as two more rounds shattered the wall behind him. He moved like a ghost dancing between the raindrops, and remaining completely unaffected while dodging the remaining bullets.
His forward momentum didn’t slowed down for even a fraction of a second.
To Kim Joon Seok, what had just happened before his very eyes looked like the impossible made possible.
He had clearly fired seven consecutive shots at a target less than three meters away, but the handsome man had somehow, managed to dodge the entire thing like it was nothing! And appeared right in front of his face without a single scratch.
Before Kim could even attempt to cycle another round of bullet into the chamber, and fire another set of shots, Alex’s hand shot forward, and like a steel vice, clamped down directly onto the Korean man’s gun hand.
With a cold almost indifferent expression, Alex simply twisted his wrist upward.
CRACK!
The Korean man’s hand snapped easily as though it was nothing more than a dry twig. Just the pain from such an injury would have made even someone like a seasoned veteran solider scream until their lungs burst.
But surprisingly Kim Joon Seok didn’t scream. He merely gritted his teeth so hard that blood began flowing from his mouth. His face turned a deadly shade of pale as thick beads of cold sweat dripped down his forehead.
He tried to use his free hand to draw his emergency combat knife from his boot, but before his fingers could even reach down, Alex’s other hand shot out, grabbing Kim by the throat and lifting his entire body off the ground with a single arm.
Alex held the Korean man suspended in the air, and tightened his grip just enough to restrict his oxygen but keep him entirely conscious.
Beside him, Nyx was leaning heavily against the wall while taking in deep ragged breaths to suppress the effect of the drugs.
Her beautiful amber eyes were filled with surprise as she witnessed how a man who was usually annoying and easy going, suddenly turned into someone ruthless and full of dominance.
Something else had also made her surprised. She knew that no Awakened, that she currently knew of, under Ascendant realm could dodge that much attack through body movement alone without having to use a special skill. Yet right in front of her eyes, Alex had just done it.
If Nyx knew that Alex was actually using the same ability he had copied from Doris, she would be even more shocked about how he got them, but with her smart brain she would figure it out of course.
Alex leaned in close, with his green eyes boring straight into Kim’s soul, completely devoid of mercy.
"Let’s play a game," Alex whispered in a voice that made the man’s blood run completely cold. "Who is the Boss that wants Nyx as his plaything? Give me his full name, and I might just let you crawl out of this alley alive. But let me warn you once.... do not even think about lying to me or else..."
Kim Joon Seok, despite the sheer terror gripping his heart just from Alex’s cold eyes, forced a sneer, and spat a mouthful of blood toward Alex’s shoes.
"Or else what? The worst you can even do is kill me. But if I dare open my mouth and tell you about his name, then the consequences would be unimaginable."
Alex looked in surprise at the Korean man’s courage. Even though he knew that he could die at any minute, he still refuse to answer. And judging from the latter part of his sentence, the Boss behind him should be a powerful existence with really terrifying means to end someone.
Now he was sort of in a little dilemma. How was he going to extract what he was looking for from a man who wasn’t afraid of dying.
Then an unexpected idea entered his mind.
What if he makes the man come close to death, then heal him with a portion of body recovery water, before he breaks him again and continue until the man’s willpower breaks?
Though it sounded kind of cruel and inhumane, it was the only thing he could come up with in this situation.
Just as Alex was about to implement it, his ears suddenly twitched as he heard the faint sound of footsteps moving toward Nyx’s direction.
Without a single moment of hesitation he let go of Kim Joon Seok’s throat, causing the man to drop heavily to the ground.
Then using his explosive speed, he stepped sideways and repositioned himself directly in front of Nyx, shielding her from whatever the hell was approaching.
As he locked his gaze onto the dark alleyway, his eyes narrowed the moment he saw the figure emerging from the shadows.
The person was none other than the English man, Charles, whom Alex had punched squarely in the chest not too long ago. He was slowly walking toward them as though nothing had happened.
Though his shirt were were stained with blood from the devastating punch from earlier, and several tears were visible across his shirt where the impact had caved his chest inward. His body appeared completely intact. There was not a single sign of injury.
Charles rolled his shoulders casually while a series of faint cracking sounds echoed from inside his body, almost as though his bones were snapping back into their proper positions.
Then he grinned
"Hey kid, you okay over there?"
His voice echoed through the alley as he looked toward Kim Joon Seok.
Kim’s pale face twisted slightly from the pain, but he managed to nod while clutching his broken hand against his chest.
"Yeah I’m fine... Just finish the damn pretty face already."
Charles chuckled.
"You got it."
Alex continued to stare at him without speaking. For the first time since this entire encounter began, a trace of genuine apprehension appeared within his eyes.
He knew exactly how much strength he had used. Although he had intentionally held back enough to avoid turning the man into blood mist, his punch had still shattered every rib in Charles chest.
There was absolutely no way a normal human could get back up from something like that. Hell, even an Awakened would have barely been able to get up with ease.
Yet this man right here was smiling as though the injury had never happened in the first place.
Charles seemed to notice the look in Alex’s eyes because his grin widened even further.
"Surprised?" He spread his arms dramatically. "Yeah I get that reaction a lot. Did you really think a punch like that was enough to put me down? Hell no. You see, I am sort of like a special person, just like you."
"My ability," he said while tapping his chest. "Is what earned me the nickname Undying fiend throughout the entire underworld."
His grin became almost proud.
"So no matter how many people break me, stab me, shoot me, or crush my bones, I always come back good as new. My ability to regenerate makes me basically unkillable if you think about it."
Alex looked at Charles carefully before his expression gradually turned serious. However, he wasn’t afraid, instead he began analyzing.
Earlier, Charles had been completely unable to react to his attack. And even though he had been caught off guard, the fact still remained that Alex’s punch had been able to successfully shatter his ribcage.
So if Charles truly possessed a level higher than his own, that attack should never have inflicted such severe damage in the first place.
Which meant there was only one conclusion. Charles wasn’t anything close to stronger than him.
At best, he was either an Early Realm Awakened or perhaps a Vanguard Realm Awakened like himself.
The realization made Alex sigh with relief internally. Physically, it would be easy to outmuscle and handle him in a straight up fight
However, an opponent who could continuously regenerate from fatal wounds would be really troublesome and give him a tough time, especially with the clock ticking on the drug burning through Nyx’s system. He couldn’t afford a prolonged war of attrition.
But first and foremost, before dealing with Charles, Alex had another problem to handle. The man called Kim Joon Seok.
While the man might be injured, he was still conscious. Just that alone made him a threat. Alex absolutely refused to leave any chance for something unexpected to happen while he was fully focused on fighting the undying fiend.
Alex activated the Deathfrost Bloom ability, causing cold black frost to gather around his finger tips as the temperature in the alley plummeted. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺
Before anybody could react, two black shadows shot forward with a terrifying speed. They pierced directly through both of Kim Joon Seok’s hands before embedding themselves deeply into the concrete beneath him.
The Korean man’s body jerked violently as his palms were nailed to the ground. A loud painful groan even escaped his lips.
The black frost immediately began spreading outward from the wound, freezing portions of the surrounding pavement and his hands.
With Kim completely immobilized for now, Alex finally shifted his full attention back toward Charles.
