Chapter 174 - 150: Full House Breaking Kill
Chen Chuan glanced at the corner again. The group’s number four, Tuoqi, stood there sideways. It was as if two men were standing back-to-back—one holding Dual Blades, the other a gun, his dangerous gaze sweeping over them.
He followed Boxing Lion’s gesture to a sofa across from the man and slightly to the left. After handing the Snow Monarch Blade to Old Wan beside him, he sat down. He glanced at the empty sofa opposite him and asked, "What, are there other guests today?"
Boxing Lion spread his hands. "What a coincidence. Just when you contacted me about a purchase, Mr. Chen, I was already in talks with another buyer. Business is first come, first served, right? But we also have to show Fox Immortal some respect, so we invited you over anyway."
"My apologies," the Bee Woman said in a soft, sweet voice. "I’ve been in a rush to carry out the boss’s orders these past two days and wanted to sell the goods as quickly as possible. If I’d known a buyer like you was interested, Mr. Chen, why would we have bothered looking so far afield?"
Chen Chuan leaned back against the sofa cushions. "Let’s skip the pleasantries. Since you know why I’m here, Mr. Boxing Lion, can I see the merchandise first?"
Boxing Lion grinned. "That wouldn’t be right. How about we wait for everyone to arrive before we take a look? That would be fairer to both parties. In this line of work, I have to be a man of my word."
Chen Chuan remained silent, but Old Wan spoke up from the side. "And how long will that be? Young Master Chen’s time is precious. He doesn’t have all day to waste here."
Boxing Lion glanced at the Bee Woman. "Go see what’s taking so long. Why aren’t they here yet?" He had set the meeting for around this time. Chen Chuan had arrived, but the other party hadn’t. This annoyed him; he felt like they were intentionally snubbing him.
The Bee Woman walked out.
Boxing Lion looked at the men around him and cursed, "Are you all blind? Pour Mr. Chen some tea."
"No need," Chen Chuan said. "I only drink the tea I bring myself." He beckoned to Old Wan. When the man leaned down, he instructed, "Go get my tea leaves."
Old Wan gave him a deep look, then rested the Snow Monarch Blade against the back of the sofa. He nodded and turned to leave.
Boxing Lion just grinned at his airs. ’Rich kids are all like that.’ But as long as there was money to be made, he could tolerate it. Besides, he was just being polite. It wasn’t as if he had any decent tea to offer anyway.
The Bee Woman quickly returned. She whispered a few words to Boxing Lion, then turned to Chen Chuan with a smile. "Mr. Chen, the other guest is on their way. They should be here in about five minutes. Please wait just a little longer."
Chen Chuan nodded. "Five minutes? That’s more than enough."
The Bee Woman’s smile never wavered, but she was inwardly confused. ’Enough for what? What is he talking about?’
Boxing Lion, however, felt a primal sense of danger, though he couldn’t pinpoint the source. He subconsciously sat up a little straighter.
As soon as he finished speaking, Chen Chuan calmly reached up and backhanded the hilt of the Snow Monarch Blade behind him. Then, he leaned forward and shot into a sudden leap, the blade clearing its sheath with a SWISH as he slashed directly at Boxing Lion, five meters away!
In that instant, time seemed to slow in Chen Chuan’s eyes. His powerful Mutated heart pumped, sending blood rich with oxygen and Energy to every part of his body.
Under the command of his will, every strand, every layer, every tiny corner of his Mutated Organization was fully mobilized, ultimately undergoing a Fusion to become a single, unparalleled force.
This power surged into the Snow Monarch Blade, making the blade itself vibrate. A blinding arc of light, like a crescent moon, suddenly flashed across the hall, searing itself into the minds of everyone present!
Boxing Lion’s pupils dilated and his nostrils flared. At that moment, his mind raced, desperately trying to make his body dodge or block. But his limbs felt as heavy as lead, refusing to move. He could only watch helplessly as that elegant arc of light grew closer and closer, until it sliced down.
The razor-sharp tip of the blade entered the top of his skull, descended along his face, neck, and torso as smoothly as if slicing through a sheet of paper. The point of the blade came to a perfect stop just a finger’s width from the floor.
Chen Chuan held the finishing pose of his strike. One foot was forward, his other hand was held behind him, and the hand gripping the blade was down by his ankle. The long, narrow blade was almost parallel to the ground as his gaze remained fixed ahead.
Boxing Lion sat frozen in place, seemingly unharmed on the surface. He was even still holding up a hand to shield himself. But then, a perfectly straight, crimson line appeared down the center of his face and body. Blood began to seep and spread from the line as his bisected corpse slowly slid apart to either side.
As the two halves separated, his internal organs and various Implants could be seen, all split with perfect symmetry, like a cross-section specimen in a glass display case. Bodily fluids, blood, and other unidentifiable liquids streamed down. The expression on his face was frozen in that final moment, creating the illusion that he could almost be pieced back together.
Everyone in the living room stared in shock. It had all happened so fast that none of them had been able to react.
Boxing Lion’s own bulletproof Implants, his flesh-corroding glands, and the martial might that intimidated all who knew him—none of it had been of any use.
