Jane Sampson found it strange, forcing herself to move her sore legs off the bed. She walked awkwardly to the study and glanced at the doorway.

The person inside was sitting upright, engrossed in a book, as if the content was particularly captivating, enjoying it immensely.

But upon closer inspection of the book’s cover, he was just reading "Romance of the Three Kingdoms."

"James Black!" Jane Sampson called to him ominously from the doorway, asking, "Is ’Romance of the Three Kingdoms’ good?"

"Not bad." The person inside replied without lifting his eyelids.

"Is ’Romance of the Three Kingdoms’ as good as me?" Jane Sampson stomped her foot in frustration, causing the soreness in her calves and thighs to nearly make her lose her balance.

Hmph! So infuriating!

"My legs are sore, come out and give me a massage." Jane Sampson decided not to beat around the bush with James Black and directly demanded, "Hurry up, I’m about to fall over."

After saying that, Jane Sampson intended to return to the living room to wait for James Black.

Unexpectedly, just as she turned around, she heard the person inside answer her in a flat tone.

"No."

And then, he continued to sit there, focused on his book.

When she needed help and asked James Black, this guy coldly and unfeelingly rejected her?

Was it that her way of getting up today was wrong?

Or was her way of returning home today wrong?

Did she bring home a fake husband?

"What did you say?" Jane Sampson glared fiercely at James Black, giving him a look that screamed, "Say that again if you dare."

"No." James Black actually repeated himself.

Seeing Jane Sampson at the doorway, holding onto the door frame in anger with wide eyes, James Black added, "This is the consequence of you not being obedient; bear it yourself."

Jane Sampson was utterly aggrieved.

"You insisted on dragging me out for a jog. If you hadn’t dragged me, I wouldn’t have sore legs." She argued.

"I wanted you to jog with me, not to take off like the wind, sprinting like a mad dash." James Black replied, "You didn’t listen to me, so sore legs are inevitable."

!!! Jane Sampson finally understood; she thought about how in the morning James Black hadn’t chased her, only to wait for this moment to lecture her!

"Fine, don’t help then! I’ll run however I want! My legs are attached to my body; I’ll do whatever I like with them." 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶

James Black was displeased that she didn’t listen.

Who isn’t a little fairy with a temper?

Jane Sampson turned her head, huffed, and limped away with defiance.

Jane Sampson grabbed her mobile phone and went back to her room, just about to soak in a hot bath when her phone rang.

It was Rock Bell calling.

"Are you up at this time?" Rock Bell’s mood was evidently light, so he teased Jane Sampson, "You two rarely have a vacation together. Your James Black probably couldn’t bear to let you leave the bed, right?"

This remark, at first glance, seemed fine.

But listening closely, it was full of implications.

Usually, Jane Sampson would definitely retort to Rock Bell, this married scandalous woman.

But now, Jane Sampson was already angry, and just hearing James Black’s name made her bristle with rage.

"Don’t mention him to me. As soon as I hear his name now, I get angry, really angry." Jane Sampson huffed, "He couldn’t bear to let me out of bed? Pfft, he dragged me up at 5:30 to go around downstairs. My legs are sore now, and he’s ignoring me!"
