In the study, James Black heard every single word.

He also knew that Jane Sampson was speaking so he could hear.

Just as he knew, when Jane turned and left just now, she was truly very upset.

James wasn’t sure if Jane was still angry, so he said one more thing, "If you’ve heard me, just make a sound."

The next second, the door opened, Jane wrapped in a bath towel stood at the doorway and said to James.

"Squeak."

Then, with a ’bang,’ the door was closed by Jane again.
