"Welcome to the Millenium Academy Enrollment ceremony" Valen’s voice resounded for all to hear..

The seemed to have specially cultivated his voice to never go beyond a certain octave, as the tone had remained scarily steady thus far..

"After multiple trials and tests and curling, we’ve finally reached the end of the vetting process" his voice hadn’t risen an octave even once, yet somehow it seemed to stoke a feeling of excitement within people..

"These.." he pointed towards the gathered candidates, over five thousand youths, now this number might’ve seemed a lot, but when one considered the fact that this was In comparison to the countless number of awakened, talented youths on the planet itself, it became another matter entirely, so it was no wonder why each and every one of the gathered youths stood straighter once valen’s attention turned towards them, well almost all of them at least..

"Are your newest intakes into the prestigious Aeternum academy" valen’s introduction resumed...

"They had been the ones to have seen a part of the true face of the world, refused to let it hold them down, pushed hard and then through grit, talent and hard work, made sure to carve a path for themselves here" the atmosphere was heating up the more he spoke, the youths were getting excited, all this, whilst the man’s voice had not an ounce of excitement within it..

"So, no matter how insignificant it may seem in the wider picture, it still is something to acknowledge, so, I ask of you to give them a resounding round of applause"...

CLAP!!!!! CLAPPP!!!!!! CLAPPPP!!!!!

At the sound of his request, it felt like the whole of terra began shaking at the thunderous round of applause that was rendered..

In everywhere the display was currently being viewed, people had begun clapping and cheering and roaring at the top of their lungs..

Those from the same cities celebrating their successful geniuses..

Those from the same continents celebrating their believed new representatives..

Those from the same family and clans celebrating the successes of their young masters and mistresses..

Those from one organization or the other celebrating their successful investments in future talents..

It didn’t matter who, everyone had a reason to celebrate, so, the applause were thunderous..

Academy city not being spared one bit as powerful experts clapped in thunderous applause that sent shockwaves through the entire city, causing its protective runes to light up just to prevent damages to the city...

The applause only stopped after a few long minutes, giving valen the chance to continue his speech..

"Now, the enrollment of students for Aeternum, as those who’ve experienced it before are well aware, aren’t anything for the dealings of words"

"Like I’ve tried to etch into the minds of you all" valen faced the candidates "the world is one that belongs to no one, not the strong, not the weak, yet only the strong have a right to contest it"

The candidates all straightened..

"Elite class, step forward" at the mention of the words elite class some of the candidates that had their postures relaxed, finally straightened..

A group of 100 young men and women stepping forth at the mention of the words Elite Class.. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

"These hundred, have been specially selected by instructors within the academy..

They have been deemed "special", "too powerful", for the tests that YOU were required to take, thus they stand before you now, of the same new students category, yet of totally different statuses"..

"But you shall be given a chance" at the mention of the opportunity of being given a chance, the remaining few thousand candidates straightened up..

"They have been deemed too powerful, now is your chance to prove that notion wrong, pick a any one of them, issue a challenge, you win, you take their place as one of the elite and all the privileges that come with it, you lose? You leave these gates immediately"the candidates had been nursing thoughts of trying their luck, until valen’s last words killed those thoughts immediately

"What? Why?"...

"Why do I have to leave if I fail my challenge?"

"How’s that any fair???"..

They were outraged, their voices rising in protest..

"Silence" he didn’t shout, he never did, yet the voices silenced themselves immediately..

"What’s this talk I hear about fairness? Tell me, Is it fair to have them defend themselves against rabble like you? Is it fair to have them prove something when they’re not in any way required to? Do you think the instructors at my Aeternum are so blind as to pick out weaklings?" The Elite students puffed out their chests, their egos getting stoked at the complements..

"Nothing in life is fair, if you want something and believe you’re strong enough for it? You take it.. it’s that simple, do not for once believe what you have is yours, if you’re not strong enough, it will never be" those words killed the pride that had begun stirring within the elites..

"So, the rules are simple, if you beat an elite, you take their place, if you lose you leave my presence, but do not worry, multiple people can challenge the same elite as many times as possible, even if that person had just gotten out of a battle"..

Now, those words sent another surge of hope running through the candidates..

If they could challenge elites that had just finished battling, wouldn’t it be easy to just wait out the challenges till an elite is exhausted, then swoop in and take them out?

The eyes of the candidates shone with stars as that thought settled within their heads..

"Oh, before I forget, let it be known that the elites themselves are free to issue out challenges to candidates they feel worthy enough, if they lose, they lose not only their elite status, their privileges, but also all the academy points they’d been awarded as elites will be passed on to the winner"..

"Academy points being what all of you will be needing for your stay here, but that isn’t my job to explain"

"The rules of engagement are simple, everything but murder is allowed, as I will not have you stain my Aeternum’s sacred ceremony with the loss of your miserable life"..

The man wasn’t holding back any punches, his words were downright offensive and insulting, yet it didn’t feel that way with the indifference in his voice, made all he said sound like nothing but cold hard facts..

"So without further ado, let the challenges begin!"
