Chasing His Ex: The Tycoon's Hidden Twins
Chapter 105: Can You Please Stop Hurting My Sister?
"Are you crazy?! You want my son to apologize to him?!" Huang Minghao’s mother couldn’t take it anymore. She shot to her feet again, pointed a finger at Lu Fan, and cursed.
Lu Fan was in no rush.
He knew Huang Minghao’s father already understood the gravity of the situation, so he looked at him and said, "You’re Minghao’s father, right? Do you agree to this solution?"
Huang Minghao’s father gritted his teeth, weighing the pros and cons.
In truth, it was mostly a matter of pride.
Meanwhile, Huang Minghao’s mother was tugging on her husband’s hand. "Honey, say something. Honey?"
At this point, Principal Huang didn’t even dare to speak.
He just hoped this couple wouldn’t keep dragging the matter out.
Lu Fan, however, appeared quite composed.
He took the tablet Jiali handed him, glanced at it briefly, and then remarked with curiosity, "So, Boss Huang is in the steel business. And it seems you were working with one of my subsidiaries just a little while ago."
Huang Minghao’s father was stunned.
This...
’He’s already found my information in such a short time.’
’And I’m even cooperating with one of his subsidiaries?’
His brow furrowed. "Shenglin Limited Company is one of your subsidiaries?" he asked in surprise.
"It is indeed one of the companies under my umbrella. I just had my assistant look it up," Lu Fan said with a small smile.
At these words, Huang Minghao’s father’s composure finally shattered.
He had just managed to reach a verbal agreement with Shenglin Limited Company a few days ago after much difficulty.
If this trivial nonsense with his son were to screw up several months’ worth of revenue...
The losses would be unthinkable!
Jiang Ming, who was standing to the side, was even more shocked, utterly speechless.
’He’d never imagined that Lu Fan’s company would have business dealings with Huang Minghao’s father.’
’But that wasn’t even the most important part.’
’The most important part was "one of his subsidiaries"??’
’That meant Lu Fan was running more than just one company!!’
’Was he really that rich?!’
The revelation dealt a massive blow to Jiang Ming’s simple P.E. teacher brain.
And Huang Minghao’s father was no fool.
You could say that all rich people are sharp as tacks.
They always put their interests first.
At the very least, they had to consider their own best interests.
And so, he immediately broke into a smile. "Actually, this whole thing isn’t that big a deal, is it?"
Huang Minghao’s father first glanced at Lu Fan, then turned to Principal Huang and said, "Principal Huang, go get my son."
The moment he said this, Principal Huang’s face lit up.
This meant Huang Minghao’s parents were making a concession.
He immediately urged the dean of discipline, "Quick, quick, Director Wang, hurry and bring Huang Minghao over."
Director Wang, of course, understood. He trotted out of the principal’s office and headed toward the academic building.
But Huang Minghao’s mother was not having it.
She whispered to her husband, "What are you doing?! Are you really going to make our son apologize to him? He’s the one who hit our son, not the other way around!"
"Shut your mouth," Huang Minghao’s father glared at her.
Perhaps because the man held a high status in the household, his flash of anger was enough to make Huang Minghao’s mother fall completely silent.
While they waited.
Huang Minghao’s father’s menacing expression vanished, replaced by a beaming smile. He stood up, pulled a premium pack of cigarettes from his pocket, and offered, "Boss Lu, care for a smoke?"
Lu Fan shook his head. "We’re in the principal’s office, after all. It wouldn’t be appropriate."
"It’s fine, it’s fine." ’Never mind smoking,’ Principal Huang thought. ’As long as this can be resolved with minimal fallout, they could burn the place down for all I care.’
Yes, the principal’s position was just that precarious.
If the media got wind of this, he’d be skinned alive, figuratively speaking.
Seeing Lu Fan’s direct refusal, Huang Minghao’s father was left in an awkward position, not knowing whether to keep holding the cigarette or put it away. He glanced over at Chen He and Jiang Ming.
Lu Fan gave them a subtle nod.
’It wouldn’t be hard to have a complete falling out; worst-case scenario, Jiang Ming could just quit his teaching job.’
’But it was clear Jiang Ming didn’t want to leave the school.’
So he signaled for Chen He and Jiang Ming to accept the cigarettes.
Once they took the cigarettes, Huang Minghao’s father’s expression relaxed. He started piling all the blame on his own son. "I always say his mother spoils him rotten! To think he’d dare pull on a girl’s bra strap. If we don’t put a stop to it now, who knows, he might end up in prison one day!"
"If you ask me, Teacher Jiang, you were right to slap him!"
Huang Minghao’s father shot an angry look at his wife. "You listen to me. When our son gets here, you are not to say a word." 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
"Oh..." Huang Minghao’s mother seemed to realize that Lu Fan was a powerful boss they couldn’t afford to offend. All she could do was offer an awkward, placating smile.
「A short while later.」
The dean of discipline returned to the principal’s office with Huang Minghao in tow.
It was clear the dean had already prepped Huang Minghao on the way over.
So, when the little rascal entered the principal’s office, he looked frightened the entire time.
But that wasn’t the end of it.
Huang Minghao’s father dragged his son in front of him, kicked him in the rear, and started railing, "You said Teacher Jiang slapped you, and that’s true."
"But you didn’t tell me why! Tell me, do you know why he slapped you?" Huang Minghao’s father demanded, pointing at his son.
Huang Minghao rubbed his sore backside and started to lie. "I don’t know! He just criticized me a little and then slapped me."
"Still not telling the truth, are you?" Furious, Huang Minghao’s father took off his leather shoe, threatening to bring it down on his son’s face.
This time, Huang Minghao’s mother couldn’t hold back and rushed forward to stop him.
If she hadn’t, her son might have ended up with a perfect shoe print on his face.
Principal Huang stepped in to mediate. "Minghao’s father, calm down, please calm down. Minghao knows he was wrong now."
"He knows my ass! If Teacher Jiang hadn’t told us he was lifting up girls’ clothes and pulling their bra straps, we’d still be completely in the dark!" Huang Minghao’s father fumed.
In reality, his explosive reaction was partly an act.
He mainly wanted Lu Fan to see that he had been genuinely unaware of the full story.
By disciplining his son now, he was providing a resolution to the matter.
Lu Fan had seen enough of the show. He interjected, "Boss Huang, you can discipline your son at home. The most important thing right now is for him to admit his mistake to Teacher Jiang. A school is a place where one learns right from wrong. If that distinction is lost, then education itself becomes meaningless."
"Right, right, you’re absolutely right." Huang Minghao’s father hauled his son in front of Jiang Ming and urged, "Hurry up and apologize to Teacher Jiang."
"I didn’t do anything wrong," Huang Minghao said defiantly. "Dad, he’s the one who hit me."
"If you hadn’t been lifting girls’ clothes, if you hadn’t been cussing them out, would the teacher have hit you? He was disciplining you on my behalf! Are you going to apologize or not? If you don’t, I’ll beat you until you do," his father threatened.
Perhaps feeling the pressure from his father, Huang Minghao immediately caved. He nodded slightly and mumbled, "I’m sorry, Teacher Jiang. I was wrong."
"To know your mistake and be able to correct it is a great virtue. I hope you truly understand what you did wrong this time. You can’t just make fun of a classmate’s family situation. And you must respect your classmates. Boys and girls are different, yet you went and pulled at her clothes. Imagine if I, in a moment of carelessness, pulled your pants down on the playground and exposed your little guy to everyone. Wouldn’t you be terribly ashamed?"
Ever since Jiang Ming had learned of Lu Fan’s power, he’d been itching to flex a little himself. Since he didn’t dare lecture Huang Minghao’s father, he directed all his grandstanding at the son instead.
Huang Minghao could only nod along as he listened.
Seeing this, Huang Minghao’s father immediately smiled. "My apologies, I’ve failed in my parenting. I’ll take him home today and have him write an 800-word letter of apology to be submitted to the principal."
After speaking, he turned to Lu Fan. "Boss Lu, what do you think of this arrangement?"
"Yes, that’s acceptable. I’ll leave you to supervise him, then, Boss Huang," Lu Fan replied.
"Then I’ll take this good-for-nothing son of mine home. Sorry to have troubled everyone." Before leaving, Huang Minghao’s father stepped forward and offered Lu Fan a business card. "Boss Lu, this is my card. My phone number is also my WeChat ID. We can add each other. That way, if any opportunities for business cooperation come up, we can stay in touch."
"Alright." Lu Fan accepted the card, but instead of putting it in his pocket, he immediately handed it to Jiali.
Huang Minghao’s father saw this and felt a pang of embarrassment, but he chose to ignore it. "Good, good. Then it’s settled. We’ll be on our way."
And with that, the troublemaking family of three departed.
Only then did Principal Huang finally breathe a sigh of relief.
He then looked at Jiang Ming and said, "Teacher Jiang, from a moral standpoint, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with your actions as a teacher. But you must learn to control your emotions. Scold them, yes, but you must never, ever resort to physical violence."
"Yes, I understand, Principal," Jiang Ming nodded.
Principal Huang then turned his attention to Lu Fan, extending a hand politely. "This time, we have Mr. Lu to thank for mediating between the teacher and the parent. Here is my card. If you don’t mind, Mr. Lu, we could exchange contact information. We can stay in touch for any future needs."
He wasn’t stupid. Anyone who knew people at the Education Bureau—and specifically Director Sun of the Bai Mountain District—was definitely no small fry.
Even after seeing Lu Fan hand Boss Huang’s card to his assistant instead of keeping it himself, he still felt compelled to offer his own.
To Principal Huang’s surprise, however, Lu Fan took his card and slipped it directly into his pocket with a smile. "Principal Huang, I believe the teachers here want all their students to excel in both character and academics. It’s just that different family upbringings result in different personalities and behaviors. The nation’s future still relies on educators like you to cultivate them."
"Of course, of course!" Principal Huang was ecstatic. He extended his hand again for another shake. "Mr. Lu, if you’re ever in the area again... or, if you’re free today, I could give you a tour of the school."
"I have to get to the office today. Perhaps another time," Lu Fan politely declined.
"Of course, of course," Principal Huang nodded.
Before leaving, Lu Fan added, "Principal Huang, my brother-in-law is still young and can be a bit hot-headed, but his work ethic and abilities are excellent. I hope you’ll continue to support him."
"No problem at all," Principal Huang immediately said, praising Jiang Ming. "In fact, Teacher Jiang is very popular with the students here. You can rest assured on that front."
"Good. Then I won’t keep you from your work."
With that, Lu Fan prepared to leave.
Principal Huang seized the opportunity. "Teacher Jiang, why don’t you walk your brother-in-law out?"
Jiang Ming snapped back to reality, nodded, and followed him out.
He followed him all the way to the school gate before finally finding the words, though it was difficult. "Thank you... for today."
"Don’t thank me. The person you should be thanking is your sister."
Lu Fan explained, "All these years, I never knew your sister had borne me a son and a daughter. That’s why her life has been so difficult. Of course, I’m sure you put in a lot of effort to help her during that time, too. So when you got into trouble, it was only right for me to help."
He paused, then emphasized, "But I hope you understand something. If I didn’t care for your sister, with my current wealth and status, forget one wife—I could marry a hundred without any issue. Do you understand what I’m trying to say?"
Jiang Ming, completely overwhelmed by Lu Fan’s presence, could only nod meekly. "I understand."
"Alright, head back inside," Lu Fan said, preparing to get into his car.
Jiang Ming hesitated for a moment, then, just as the car was about to pull away, he couldn’t help but call out, "Can you promise me one thing?"
"What is it?"
"Can you promise not to hurt my sister again?"
After hearing his plea, Lu Fan nodded and promised, "Don’t worry. I won’t hurt her again."
With that, the car sped off into the distance.
