Chasing His Ex: The Tycoon's Hidden Twins
Chapter 118 - 116: Lu Fan Meets His Son and Daughter-in-law
Because they had played Truth or Dare for about ten minutes before the lesson, Jiang Sifan ended the session over ten minutes late.
Just before it ended, He Lingyi took a scarf from her closet and said, "It’s gotten cold these past two days. Wear my scarf on your way back."
"No, it’s fine. I’m not cold. You should wear it," Jiang Sifan explained.
But He Lingyi didn’t care whether he agreed or not and directly wrapped the scarf around Jiang Sifan’s neck.
Then she took two steps back, nodded in satisfaction, and said, "Mm, looks great."
She then warned him, "You can’t get sick. You have to come to our sessions on time every week! My math needs to keep improving, and then you have to take me to the amusement park."
"Okay." Seeing He Lingyi’s ambition, Jiang Sifan was quite gratified.
After that, he left He Lingyi’s house and got on a bus heading back toward the university.
During the bus ride, Jiang Sifan sent a message to Wen Wan.
Jiang Sifan: [Wen Wan, are you busy?]
Wen Wan replied quickly: [I’m doing the accounts for the Eastside Stationery store.]
When Jiang Sifan saw her reply, he immediately typed: [Didn’t we agree I’d do the accounts for the stationery store? You should get some rest.]
Wen Wan: [Didn’t you have to go tutoring today? I didn’t have anything to do tonight, so I thought I’d help share the load.]
Jiang Sifan was rather touched.
Jiang Sifan: [Okay, then. I’ll come pick you up later. Let’s go out for a late-night snack. My treat.]
Wen Wan: [Okay.]
Wen Wan didn’t refuse. In most situations, she would do whatever Jiang Sifan asked her to.
After returning to the university, Jiang Sifan first went to check out an electric scooter shop just off campus.
The shop owner immediately came out from the back room and asked, "Young man, looking to buy an electric scooter?"
Jiang Sifan nodded and asked, "How much is this one?"
"This one’s two thousand," the shop owner replied.
Jiang Sifan was a little surprised.
’It’s so expensive.’
He immediately voiced his thoughts, "Sir, this scooter is too expensive. Can you go any lower?"
"Hey, handsome, this scooter isn’t expensive at all. On this whole street, I dare say mine are the cheapest," the shop owner boasted, patting one of his scooters.
Jiang Sifan hesitated for a moment.
His own dorm wasn’t actually that far from the university gate.
The main reason he wanted to buy an electric scooter was that Wen Wan’s dorm was in the West District, which was a good half-hour walk from the gate.
If he bought a scooter, he could pick Wen Wan up whenever they went out to discuss business, saving her some walking.
But two thousand for a scooter was indeed a bit expensive.
Just a couple of days ago, he had finally paid off his online loans.
He had four thousand left over, and he’d split it evenly, giving two thousand to Wen Wan.
Now, he’d finally managed to save a little money.
And just like that, he was about to spend it all again.
But Jiang Sifan didn’t regret it. He felt that Wen Wan had done so much for him; just buying an electric scooter to make it easier for her to get around...
...was nothing.
So, Jiang Sifan spoke up again, "How about two hundred off? Take off two hundred, and I’ll buy it right now."
"Alright, alright. I’m only agreeing because I can see you’re a university student. I’m telling you, I’m really not making a profit on this. A hundred or two hundred at most," the shop owner said as he deftly started installing the battery.
In just a few moments, a brand-new electric scooter was all set up.
Jiang Sifan showed the payment record to the shop owner.
After seeing it, the shop owner said cheerfully, "Alrighty, thanks a lot."
Jiang Sifan then got on the scooter and zipped off toward the West District dorms.
Meanwhile, Wen Wan had already showered and changed into her pajamas, but since Jiang Sifan had said they were going out for a late-night snack, she quickly changed her clothes again.
When she opened her closet, she looked at the clothes inside.
She was clearly conflicted.
Normally, she just wore a white shirt, a pair of jeans, and a pair of simple white sneakers.
It was a simple and very ordinary look.
She used to think that outfit was perfectly fine.
But after going out with Jiang Sifan so often lately, she’d started to notice how flashily other girls dressed.
Every time Wen Wan saw those girls in their beautiful clothes, she felt a little insecure.
Although Jiang Sifan had transferred two thousand to her a couple of days ago, she felt their startup was still unstable and might need a lot of capital later on.
So she planned to save the two thousand for a rainy day.
After much deliberation, Wen Wan finally picked out a relatively new set of clothes to wear.
Then she hurried downstairs, worried that Jiang Sifan was already waiting at the dorm entrance.
Soon, Jiang Sifan arrived at the girls’ dormitory.
He saw a bunch of couples on dates below the dorm building.
Especially under the shade of the trees, quite a few couples were up to no good.
In the moonlight’s reflection, he could even see some guys’ hands reaching into the "absolute territory."
Seeing this, Jiang Sifan felt a little awkward.
Or rather than awkward, he was more annoyed.
"Hmph! All they know how to do is date. So pathetic." Jiang Sifan was just suffering from sour grapes. Now that he was a "single dog," he naturally felt bitter toward those lovey-dovey couples.
Just as he was about to message Wen Wan, he saw a familiar figure walking toward him.
Jiang Sifan was surprised. "How did you get down here so fast? I was just about to message you."
Wen Wan blushed and explained, "I was afraid you’d be waiting long, so I came down to wait for you."
"You’re so silly," Jiang Sifan said, not knowing whether to laugh or cry. "It’s freezing out. Aren’t you cold standing here? From now on, only come down when I tell you to."
"Oh... okay." Wen Wan nodded earnestly, like an obedient little girl.
"Alright, hop on."
Jiang Sifan said, gesturing.
Wen Wan was curious about how he’d suddenly gotten an electric scooter, but she didn’t ask.
Instead, she silently got on.
But even if Wen Wan didn’t ask, Jiang Sifan was going to tell her anyway.
As he drove, Jiang Sifan explained, "I was thinking, we go off campus every day and all that walking is exhausting. It’s more practical to just buy a scooter."
"Wasn’t this scooter very expensive?" Wen Wan asked tentatively.
"It’s fine," Jiang Sifan said with a smile. "As long as it saves you some walking, I think this scooter was worth it."
Hearing this, Wen Wan immediately blushed.
To keep Jiang Sifan from seeing her face, she lowered her head.
Jiang Sifan noticed this in the rearview mirror and thought she had lowered her head because of the cold.
So he pulled over, took the scarf He Lingyi had given him, and turned to wrap it around Wen Wan’s neck.
Wen Wan was stunned for a moment, then tried to refuse. "No, no, Class Rep. You’re driving, so you need the scarf more."
"What does a big guy like me need a scarf for? Hurry up and put it on, or I’ll get angry," Jiang Sifan said, deliberately frowning.
Sure enough, when Wen Wan saw that Jiang Sifan was about to get angry, she obediently gave in.
Seeing this, Jiang Sifan was secretly pleased.
Because he had discovered that Wen Wan was very afraid of him getting angry.
’This girl, Wen Wan, is really something else.’
’But does this make me seem too chauvinistic?’
After all, Jiang Sifan had a reputation for being a "warm guy," and he wasn’t sure if Wen Wan would be okay with him sometimes using a forceful approach to take care of her.
So Jiang Sifan asked curiously, "By the way, Wen Wan, was I too harsh just now?"
Wen Wan heard him and immediately shook her head. "N...no, not at all."
"Really? That’s great. I was worried you’d say I was being too harsh, too chauvinistic," Jiang Sifan said with a laugh.
Wen Wan didn’t say anything else, instead stroking the scarf around her neck, a warm feeling spreading through her heart.
In truth, she found it quite moving that Jiang Sifan cared for her with such commanding words...
After all, growing up, she had always been the one taking care of others at home.
She not only had to look after her younger sisters, but also her youngest brother.
No one had ever cared for her.
But now things were different. The Class Rep was always paying attention to her.
This made Wen Wan feel very happy in that moment.
As Jiang Sifan was chattering away with Wen Wan, he didn’t notice a speed bump up ahead.
He braked suddenly to slow down.
But due to inertia, Wen Wan fell forward onto Jiang Sifan’s back.
At first, Jiang Sifan didn’t react.
Then, belatedly, he noticed.
That soft, yielding feeling just now.
Could it be...
Jiang Sifan was a little stunned.
He knew Wen Wan had a good figure.
But he never expected it to be *this* good.
At that moment, Wen Wan also realized what had happened.
She glanced down, and her face turned red.
She didn’t know what to say.
"Um... I didn’t see the speed bump ahead, Wen Wan. I’m sorry."
"It’s okay..."
Perhaps because of that little incident, hearing Wen Wan’s sweet voice made Jiang Sifan suddenly feel a little hot and bothered.
For a moment, his adrenaline spiked.
After all, he was just an 18-year-old boy, full of vim and vigor.
It was only normal to feel a bit flustered in a situation like this.
Jiang Sifan just paid more attention to the upcoming speed bumps.
After all, what happened just now was an accident. If he deliberately did it again, he’d be a scoundrel.
Soon, they arrived at the snack street.
After a few minutes of cooling down, the blush on both their faces gradually faded.
Jiang Sifan said to Wen Wan, "What do you want to eat today? My treat."
Wen Wan didn’t refuse, instead giving him a chance to show off. She said in a small voice, "I want to eat chicken wings stuffed with rice."
"Okay! I’ll have one too. We’ll just eat whatever looks good," Jiang Sifan said cheerfully.
The scene of the two of them strolling through the snack street was seen by Lao Liu and Lao Jiu.
They sent a photo of Sifan and Wen Wan on their date to Chen He.
Chen He immediately showed the photo to Lu Fan.
After looking at it, Lu Fan gave his strong approval.
"I didn’t expect Sifan to win this girl over so quickly."
Over the past few days, he’d had Chen He run a thorough background check on Wen Wan.
You could say she’s been a top student her whole life.
But due to her family’s poverty and a degree of gender bias favoring sons, the young lady had developed an introverted personality and didn’t like interacting with people much.
And because of this, by a strange twist of fate, Jiang Sifan had become a ray of hope for her at the university.
Just then, Chen He added, "By the way, the female high school senior the Young Master is tutoring is also very beautiful. And she even gave him a scarf tonight."
"Oh, is that so? Let me see a picture."
Lu Fan then opened He Lingyi’s photo.
When he saw her, he couldn’t help but affirm, "She is indeed very beautiful. It seems my son’s luck with women is quite good. Now this is a predicament. Two such beautiful girls... let’s see which one he chooses. Or..."
After speaking, Lu Fan leaned back in his chair. A sudden idea struck him, and he said to Jiali beside him, "Say, do you think I could give an open lecture to Sifan’s class of first-year finance students, under the guise of a financial consultant?"
Upon hearing this, Jiali immediately nodded. "I’ll arrange it right away."
The thought of meeting his son and his potential daughter-in-law made Lu Fan quite excited.
