Chasing His Ex: The Tycoon's Hidden Twins
Chapter 151 - 140: Jiang Sifan’s Fury: The Head-on Confrontation
That evening.
Lu Fan arrived at Jinling University.
He sent Jiang Silu a message: [Silu, are you on campus?]
Jiang Silu had just gotten out of class.
She immediately replied: [I just got out. What’s up?]
Lu Fan: [Which building are you in? I’m coming over now. I had the chef make some pastries and juice for you, and I have some good news to share.]
Jiang Silu: [I’m in Academic Building Two. Do you know where that is?]
Lu Fan: [Dad knows. I’ll be there soon.]
After getting the message, Jiang Silu immediately went downstairs and waited in the open area by the academic building.
’I wonder what kind of pastries Dad’s chef made.’
She was filled with anticipation.
After all, as a foodie, she absolutely loved the pastries her dad brought her.
Not long after, a luxury car slowly drove up.
It just so happened that many students were getting out of class and heading toward the dorms.
Naturally, they noticed the Rolls-Royce.
"Oh my god, whose luxury car is that?"
"Who’s driving it?"
"It couldn’t be a professor, could it?"
"No way. A professor driving a car like that? They’d have to be crazy."
"Don’t tell me it’s one of our students?"
"Then they’d have to be some crazy rich kid. But do we even have anyone like that at our school?"
Amidst the crowd’s speculation, Lu Fan stepped out of the car.
He had a natural air about him—handsome and composed.
He instantly captured the hearts of many young female admirers.
"Wow, that older guy is so handsome."
"Is he here to pick up his young girlfriend?"
"If he offered to be my sugar daddy, I’d totally be down for it."
Compared to the freshmen, the junior and senior girls were a bit more realistic.
They were even wondering if they might be the lucky one to catch the eye of a powerful and successful man like Lu Fan.
Besides, Lu Fan wasn’t bad-looking at all.
Even setting aside his wealth, having a thrilling romance with a handsome older man like him didn’t seem like a bad idea.
But Lu Fan didn’t even notice these young women.
To put it another way, over the past decade, it wasn’t just college girls—even some A-list celebrities would have been willing to spend a night with him.
Besides, the whole "college girls are the best" trope was just a meme anyway.
When it came to practical experience, he found that those he had personally "trained" were far more practical.
Lu Fan walked up to Jiang Silu and handed her the bag in his hand. "Here, these are the pastries and juice for you and your roommates."
"Thank you~" Jiang Silu said immediately.
Lu Fan glanced around her and asked curiously, "Aren’t your roommates with you?"
"I... I had them go back first," Jiang Silu replied. "I was worried that what you wanted to talk about might be private."
"Haha, it’s nothing that serious," Lu Fan said calmly. "Your design project passed the preliminary review. The plagiarism accusation was investigated and proven false, so the organizers approved your entry. You can move on to the next round."
Although Jiang Silu had already heard the news that afternoon, she still smiled and nodded when Lu Fan told her himself. "Great, I know. Our department head actually called us in this afternoon to tell us about it."
"Oh, good!" Lu Fan chuckled. "Looks like my news is a little late then."
"It was actually you who helped us, wasn’t it?" Jiang Silu asked cautiously. "I have a feeling our department head didn’t do much. The only reason our project got a second look was because you helped, right?"
Lu Fan smiled. "Well, I didn’t do much. I just asked the organizers a few questions and contacted Elder Meng. They verified that your work wasn’t plagiarized, so based on its quality, it was allowed to be re-reviewed."
"Then I’ll tell my senior classmates that you were the one who helped us," Jiang Silu replied.
"You don’t need to tell them. It’s fine," Lu Fan said with a gentle smile.
Jiang Silu grew anxious. "But if they don’t know, won’t your efforts have been for nothing? No one will know what you did!"
"How could that be? You know, don’t you? Besides, the only reason I took this so seriously is that you’re my daughter, and you were being falsely accused. That’s why I looked into it."
"If it had been someone else, or someone I didn’t know, I wouldn’t have bothered. Sometimes, that’s just how reality is. You can’t get involved in everything."
"Although Dad is financially powerful, my reach is ultimately limited. I can only do my best to protect the people I love. Do you understand what I’m trying to say?" Lu Fan explained.
Jiang Silu listened and nodded.
What Lu Fan said was very pragmatic.
If she hadn’t been part of this competition, then even if her senior classmates had been hit with plagiarism accusations, Lu Fan wouldn’t have gone out of his way to investigate.
He had no obligation and no reason to get involved.
But regardless, Jiang Silu was deeply moved.
She could truly feel Lu Fan’s affection for her.
So, Jiang Silu gave a slight bow and said gratefully, "Thank you, for going out of your way to handle this for me."
"Silly girl," Lu Fan laughed. "What’s there to thank me for? You’re my daughter. It’s only natural that I’d help you."
Jiang Silu shook her head. "No. Even if my own mother helped me, I would still say thank you. In this world, no one helping another is a given. When parents help their children, the children should know how to be grateful, not take their parents’ love for granted."
Lu Fan was very gratified to hear this.
He felt that Jiang Silu was truly much more mature than her peers.
Perhaps because of the Rolls-Royce parked nearby, the students coming and going all looked in Lu Fan and Jiang Silu’s direction.
