Teacher Zhu was clearly backed into a corner. She knew Xu Junjie was largely responsible for this.

But if she admitted Xu Junjie had done something wrong, wouldn’t that be the same as admitting that she, a teacher from the Dual Innovation Department, was also at fault?

Jiang Sifan did have connections to the vice principal, but some people just can’t let go of their pride.

Once she decided to be stubborn, she wouldn’t care about any principal, vice principal, or otherwise.

Besides, Principal Luo was swamped with work. Something like this would never get to him.

So Teacher Zhu delivered her judgment. "Xu Junjie was certainly not entirely right in this, but Jiang Sifan’s handling of the aftermath wasn’t very friendly either. In my opinion, both sides are at fault. How about this? You each take a step back, apologize to each other, and the matter will be dropped."

Jiang Sifan shook his head adamantly. "Teacher Zhu, I did nothing wrong. I will not apologize."

"Then why did you go to his classroom first thing this morning to apologize to him in person?" Teacher Zhu asked.

"My goal was to let everyone know about the Dual Innovation Department’s shady dealings and its do-nothing attitude." Saying this, Jiang Sifan pulled out his phone and explained, "After this blew up today, a lot of people on the school forums started talking about the department’s entrepreneurship program. Many of them wanted to know the specific details, but they were all summarily dismissed."

When he said this, Teacher Zhu’s expression soured even more.

The other teachers in the office all turned to look in their direction.

Since Teacher Zhu wasn’t particularly well-liked or skilled in her interpersonal dealings, the other teachers were watching as if it were a show, eager to see how she would clean up this mess.

Just then, Xu Junjie suddenly burst out, "I did not open the door to classroom 303! Why won’t you believe me? Do I have to jump off a building to prove myself?"

With that, he started walking toward the door.

Everyone was stunned.

They swarmed around him, trying to stop him. "Let’s talk this through calmly! Don’t get worked up!"

But Xu Junjie seized the moment, doubling down on his act. "I can see you don’t believe me! Fine! In that case, I’ll prove my innocence by jumping!"

Jiang Sifan couldn’t believe it. ’A third-year upperclassman, resorting to this kind of stunt to be believed.

It’s absolutely ridiculous.

Honestly, if I weren’t worried about legal repercussions, I would have loved to shout, "Well, go on and jump then!"’

Teacher Zhu also rushed to grab Xu Junjie. "Jun Jie, let’s talk this through calmly. Don’t be rash." 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶

"I’m calling my parents! You’re all ganging up on me!" Xu Junjie wailed, pulling out his phone and feigning tears as he dialed.

He was a Jinling native, and his parents both worked in the city.

After getting the call, they rushed over at once.

In the meantime, one of the teachers reported the incident to the dean.

The dean, feeling the matter was serious, then informed the principal.

Upon hearing the news, Principal Luo hurried over to the office in the administration building.

At first, he didn’t recognize Jiang Sifan.

But seeing how agitated Xu Junjie was, he immediately bypassed Jiang Sifan to soothe the distressed student. "Young man, please calm down. Can we take our time and talk this through?"

But Xu Junjie shook his head, feigning despair. "You’d rather believe a freshman than believe me! I told you, I didn’t open his classroom door yesterday, but he refuses to believe it."

"What exactly is going on here?" Principal Luo asked, looking at Teacher Zhu and Teacher Ma.

For a moment, both Teacher Zhu and Teacher Ma looked a little awkward.

They were just about to give Principal Luo a brief rundown of the situation when a couple walked into the office. Seeing Xu Junjie, they called out softly, "Jun Jie, what’s wrong?"

Xu Junjie immediately walked over to them. "Mom, Dad, this freshman is insisting on framing me! He’s telling the teachers I did something that I never did."

Jiang Sifan remained silent. ’I wonder how long this Xu Junjie can keep up his act.’

Xu Junjie’s parents were dressed in suits, looking as if they worked in a government office.

Xu Junjie’s father led his son forward and addressed the group. "May I ask who is the teacher responsible for this matter?"

Hearing this, Principal Luo quickly introduced himself. "Hello. I’m the vice principal of the college. My surname is Luo."

"Hello, Principal Luo," Mr. Xu said with a smile. "I’m not sure what happened between the boys. I came as soon as I got my son’s call, so I’m not clear on the details."

"Why don’t we all come to my office to sort this out?" Principal Luo suggested. He was worried that if the scene got any bigger, more teachers would find out. It was better to discuss this behind closed doors.

And so, the group made their way to Principal Luo’s office.

On the way, his advisor, Teacher Ma, whispered to Jiang Sifan, "Sifan, when you tell your side of the story, don’t embellish it. I’ll have your back."

Jiang Sifan nodded. "Thank you, Teacher."

Soon, everyone was gathered in Principal Luo’s office.

Mr. Xu introduced himself. "I’m an adjudicator at the Jinling Court, and my wife works there as well. We happened to be resting at home today when we got our son’s call. We were so worried that we rushed right over without getting a chance to ask what happened."

After learning of the parents’ professions, Principal Luo smiled amicably. "Welcome. I’ve only just been made aware of the situation myself. Teacher Ma and Teacher Zhu were handling it before. Why don’t we start by having them briefly explain what happened?"

Principal Luo was a clever man, immediately distancing himself from any responsibility.

He was crafting a persona: ’I just got here, I don’t know a thing, but I’m here to help.’
