Chasing His Ex: The Tycoon's Hidden Twins
Chapter 83: Jiang Silu’s Impression of Lu Fan Changes for the Better
Early the next morning.
Jiang Silu quietly got out of bed to wash up.
Then, without disturbing her roommates, she left the dorm.
As she walked toward the school gate, she felt a little nervous and awkward.
’This seems to be the first time I’m going out with Dad.’
Amid her nervousness, Jiang Silu also felt a flicker of anticipation.
Just as she walked out of the school gate, she was about to head to the snack street to buy a few buns to tide her over.
But then, Lu Fan walked over to her.
"Silu," Lu Fan said with a small smile.
Jiang Silu hadn’t expected Lu Fan to arrive so early.
She looked at Lu Fan and greeted him awkwardly, "Good... good morning."
"Were you on your way to buy breakfast?" Lu Fan asked.
"Mhm," Jiang Silu nodded.
Lu Fan smiled. "No need. I brought you breakfast. Let’s go."
At his words, Jiang Silu followed Lu Fan into the car.
He took out two small pastries and a drink, saying, "The chef at my house made these. See if you like them."
Jiang Silu looked at the exquisite little pastries before her. They were beautifully made.
She was rather surprised.
’Wait!’
’Dad has a chef at home?!’
’Does... does that mean he lives in a villa?’
Jiang Silu once again found herself questioning the extent of Lu Fan’s wealth.
Shaking off her shock, she took a small bite.
Then she looked at Lu Fan, a happy expression on her face. "This pastry is delicious!"
"Right? I knew you young ladies would like this kind of pastry," Lu Fan said with a laugh. "If you like it, have some more. Oh, and this milk tea is also homemade. It’s really good. I drink it often myself. It has no artificial sweeteners or additives, so it won’t make you gain weight."
Jiang Silu gave an embarrassed smile.
It was obvious her dad had done his homework.
For many eighteen-year-old girls, not gaining weight was a top priority.
So she took a small sip.
Sure enough, an expression of disbelief appeared on Jiang Silu’s face as she confirmed, "This milk tea is really good too."
"If you think it’s good, next time you come over, I’ll have the chef make something special for you," Lu Fan offered.
Hearing this, Jiang Silu felt a bit shy.
But she couldn’t bring herself to refuse directly, so she just nodded. "Okay..."
Seeing her reaction, Lu Fan smiled as well.
’Looks like my daughter still feels distant from me.’
But he wasn’t in a hurry. Daughters and fathers share a special bond, after all. Perhaps this trip to Suzhou would help close the distance between them.
On the way to Suzhou, Lu Fan kept up a conversation with Jiang Silu.
Most of the time, Jiang Silu just listened.
What Jiang Silu found incredible was that Lu Fan’s knowledge and experience were far beyond her expectations.
He could take any casual topic and expand on it in great detail.
She clearly remembered her mother saying that her dad wasn’t highly educated.
’He must have started studying after he became wealthy.’
This, in particular, made Jiang Silu see him in a new light.
After all, wealth and comfort often lead to indulgence. To be able to settle down and study, to explore unfamiliar fields after becoming rich, really required a great deal of self-discipline.
This also gradually improved her impression of Lu Fan.
Soon, the car slowly came to a stop.
Chen He got out first, then came around to the back and opened the door. "Boss, we’re here."
"Okay."
Lu Fan got out of the car, then extended a hand. "Here, Silu. The car sits high off the ground, so be careful."
Seeing his outstretched hand, Jiang Silu took it for a moment and said softly, "Thank you."
"Come on, let’s go meet your idol," Lu Fan said with a small smile.
Jiang Silu looked up at the towering skyscraper in front of her.
This was her first time in the city of Suzhou.
Looking at the surrounding buildings, she felt it seemed even more prosperous than Jinling.
Next, Lu Fan led her up to the fifteenth floor.
The moment the elevator doors opened,
two rows of people bowed in unison. "Welcome, President Lu."
The scene looked exactly like a CEO inspecting a branch office.
A middle-aged woman standing in the center smiled and walked forward. "President Lu, hello. It’s been a while."
Lu Fan gestured with his hand as well. "Hello, President He."
Then, he looked at Jiang Silu and said, "This is my daughter. She’s been dreaming of visiting you. Her name is Silu."
He didn’t say Jiang Silu’s full name.
He wanted to prevent others from hearing that the father and daughter had different last names, which might cause them to whisper and gossip behind their backs.
In a way, it was to protect Jiang Silu.
Jiang Silu looked at the kind-faced He Fengchun in her professional attire and said nervously, "Hello, Teacher He!"
After speaking, she bowed.
He Fengchun immediately stepped forward, making a gesture as if to help her up. "Oh my, what a pretty child. You’re so beautiful."
Then she looked at Lu Fan. "Well then, President Lu, shall we talk in my office?"
"Okay."
And just like that, Lu Fan, with Jiang Silu, was escorted by He Fengchun into the president’s office.
As they passed the rows of employees, many of them respectfully said, "Hello, President Lu," and "Good day, President Lu."
Walking in the middle of it all, Jiang Silu felt that her father must be someone truly impressive.
So impressive that the employees of another company had to line up to welcome him.
’Just what kind of business is Dad in...? This is incredible.’
Jiang Silu couldn’t help but marvel inwardly.
Soon, they entered the office.
He Fengchun smiled at Jiang Silu. "Silu, I was quite surprised when your father told me you wanted to meet me. I thought to myself, ’Oh my, I have such a young fan!’"
Jiang Silu immediately explained, "Teacher He, I’ve always loved your Jiangnan Garden designs! And I’m studying hard, hoping to become an outstanding designer like you."
"Haha," He Fengchun was very pleased. She then looked at Lu Fan and said, "President Lu, you have such a studious daughter. I’m happy for you."
Lu Fan replied, "She’s a very good student, but I don’t understand the professional theories she’s learning. I wouldn’t want to lead her astray, so I was hoping Teacher He could give her some guidance."
He then had Jiang Silu take out her portfolio and design drafts.
He Fengchun looked at Jiang Silu’s designs, nodding in approval. "Not bad. You’re only a freshman, yet you already have such a strong design sense. Not bad at all!"
She said with great admiration, "Give it time, and you’ll surely become an even better designer than I am!"
Hearing this, Jiang Silu smiled shyly.
"When that time comes, I’ll have to ask President Lu to let her go, so your precious daughter can come to our company and handle the garden projects your group sponsors," He Fengchun said with a laugh.
Jiang Silu was a little confused when she heard this.
’Sponsored garden projects?’
He Fengchun noticed Jiang Silu’s confusion and explained, "Our team worked with your father’s group in the past. Later, when your father learned that we were restoring ancient garden architecture in Jiangnan for free, he specifically set up a garden sponsorship fund. Every year, he allocates a sum of money to our team."
After hearing He Fengchun’s explanation, Jiang Silu looked at Lu Fan in astonishment.
She never would have imagined her father was so noble!
