When Lin Xuan Qi got back to the mansion, he saw the servant girls hugging their coats tighter.

It was late autumn and the temperature was getting colder.

He saw the barbecue pit they had made earlier when he walked towards the main hall and he had an idea.

From where he came from, it was the perfect time for barbecue and he missed having it.

"Xuan Qi, I’ll ask Auntie Sue to prepare lunch?" Xue Cong asked when she saw Lin Xuan Qi back in the afternoon again.

"I will let them know." Xue Cong said with a smile.

She also thought that the temperature was great for an outdoor barbecue and it was a great opportunity to spend time with Lin Xuan Qi.

Old Shao and Mei Jiao were getting old and he reminded her to spend more time with them.

She was now a cultivator and if she slowly ascended, she would even outlive Ah Di when the time came.

So, it was better for them to spend more time with their friends and family members.

Zhi Yong began to put the charcoal into the barbecue pit and after that he started the fire.

Servant girls brought out skewers with beef, lamb and chicken meat from the kitchen and Zhi Yong placed them onto the fire.

When the fire started to cook the meat, oil came out from the meat and dripped onto the charcoal, making the fire bigger. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞

The servant girls took a few steps back but they were curious about how the meat tasted.

The warmth from the barbecue pit with the fire going was welcoming in the cold autumn weather.

"Master Lin, this good." Zhi Yong was done with some of the skewers and he came over with them in his hands.

"Thanks, you should have some too." Lin Xuan Qi said and Zhi Yong nodded his head.

Lin Xuan Qi took the skewers from his hands and handed most of them to the others.

"This is as good as I remembered it to be." Yue Xin exclaimed after taking a bite out of the skewer she had in her hand.

The others did so too and they savored the meat that was slightly charred, tender and full of oil.

It was such a treat from their usual meal.

Lin Xuan Qi took a bite from the beef skewer in his hand and it was indeed great.

He sighed and thought about his buddy Sima Long and Huo Fei Li.

They would be so happy to be having this barbecue with him.

"This goes well with some wine, here, have some." Lee He Song poured some wine from his wine gourd into wine cups that he had brought with him.

He handed the filled wine cup over to Liu Ju Zheng and they gave each other a toast.

Liu Ju Zheng had never thought that he would be able to enjoy a feast and have good wine with Lee He Song again and it was surreal to him.

They were friends for so many years and he had thought that he might not be able to see his daughters and Lee He Song anymore.

Thankfully, it was over now and he glanced over at Lin Xuan Qi.

As more of the skewers were done, the servants and guards had their turn to have a taste of it and they were so happy when they had a bite.
