Clinging to Devoted Fiancé, Heiress Slays the World!
Chapter 1072: Sleepy Kiss
"Fine, come on then." Jin Xu was so mad he actually said the opposite of what he meant.
Jin Qichuan’s lips curved slightly as he really did close his laptop, then slowly and methodically took off his suit jacket, followed by his shirt.
Jin Xu stared at his fingers undoing the buttons, and for no reason at all, nervously swallowed.
Before Jin Qichuan could get close to the bed, he quickly flipped off the bed, so startled that he stumbled several steps before he managed to steady himself.
Barefoot on the tiles, Jin Xu looked at his big brother and stammered, "I... I’m not used to your bed, I’ll go sleep on the sofa!"
When they were kids, the brothers had slept together. Now that they were grown, it just felt kind of awkward.
Before Jin Qichuan could answer, Jin Xu had already flopped onto the sofa, grabbed a throw pillow and hugged it to his chest, and shut his eyes in a hurry.
Jin Qichuan stood where he was, quietly watched him for a few seconds, then walked over and switched off the floor lamp by the sofa.
In the darkness, Jin Xu pricked up his ears to listen.
The bedroom was very quiet. After waiting a while, he couldn’t help secretly opening his eyes.
A small lamp by the bed was still on. Jin Qichuan had picked up a book and was reading intently, with only the occasional sound of pages turning.
Jin Xu was falling apart inside.
His big brother was clearly determined to go against him tonight; it was almost midnight and he still wouldn’t sleep!
Jin Xu forced himself to stay awake, stifling several yawns, inwardly praying for Jin Qichuan to hurry up, turn off the light, and go to sleep.
The man reading cast an unassuming glance at the sofa, his long fingers unhurriedly flipping to the next page as a faint curve tugged at his thin lips.
How could Jin Xu’s little movements escape his eyes?
By the time it was nearly one in the morning, Jin Qichuan finally turned off the light and went to sleep.
Jin Xu secretly let out a breath.
To be safe, he only got up, moving light as a feather toward the window, after making sure the man on the bed was sound asleep. Jin Xu carefully pushed open the glass window and nimbly leaped out.
At the same time, in the dark, Jin Qichuan turned his head and glanced toward the window.
The night wind poured in, whipping the white curtains into a fluttering dance. In the clear moonlight, there was no one by the window anymore.
A hint of amusement surfaced in the man’s eyes; then, as if he had noticed nothing at all, he closed his eyes again.
The moment he vaulted onto the bedroom windowsill, Jin Xu let out a long sigh of relief. His drowsiness vanished completely, and with a leaping heart he walked toward the bed.
On the bed, Xia Duoduo was fast asleep.
She had fair, delicate skin, and maybe because she was a bit warm, a fine sheen of sweat misted the tip of her pert little nose. Her long eyelashes trembled slightly, her bare face serene and pretty in sleep, and those slightly parted rosy lips made Jin Xu’s heart pound.
He slowly bent down, and the closer he got, the more the faint cherry-blossom scent of her body wash drifted into his nose.
A smile touched Jin Xu’s lips. He lowered his head and brushed a kiss against her soft mouth.
In her sleep, Xia Duoduo let out a soft little moan.
She felt something cool and soft press against her lips, the breath clear and clean, making her want more.
She found that a light, fleeting kiss just wasn’t enough, and her little mouth instinctively tilted up to meet it, actively seeking the kiss.
Jin Xu had been about to move his lips away, worried that if he kissed her too hard he’d wake her up.
But when he saw her flushed lips lifting on their own to meet his, the starlit darkness of his eyes paused, and the smile in them spread even wider.
He only hesitated for a moment before suddenly bending down again.
This time, Jin Xu kissed her soft lips with blazing intensity.
In her sleep, Xia Duoduo had no way to defend herself, and was almost kissed breathless. She finally blinked her eyes open in a daze—and found herself staring into a pair of dazzling, enchanting dark pupils.
