Contract Marriage: Billionaire and His Deaf Wife
Chapter 1356: The Two Little Brothers (9)
"Ouch!" Nala couldn’t help but share the excitement. While tapping his head, she looked at the math problems in the exercise book and marveled, "You can actually do two-digit calculations now?"
"What’s so hard about that?" The second monkey was very proud and revealed his magic treasure, "I use both my fingers and toes to count, and if that’s not enough, I think about how many chicken legs I’ve eaten in my mind."
This brain of the little brother! Lingxin’s small hand forcefully knocked on his own little head.
Nala couldn’t stop laughing, but worried about dampening the second monkey’s enthusiasm for learning, she quickly suppressed her laughter and turned to Lingxin, "I heard from your mom that you like Simon, is that right?"
Lingxin was a little stunned.
The second monkey answered quickly, "Yes, my brother really likes him."
"That’s great." Nala smiled at the big monkey, "Our people have contacted him. He will be at the new book signing event. We can arrange for you to meet him in the backstage dressing room. Are you interested in meeting him?"
Lingxin was so excited he couldn’t contain himself; right now, he just wanted to hug his mom and shout hooray!
Looking at the big monkey’s expression, everyone knew the little guy really wanted to go. Nala smiled, "Okay, get ready, and I’ll arrange for someone to take you there in a while."
"I want to go too!" The second monkey raised his little hand high, "My brother and I never separate. When he was sick in the hospital, I stayed in the hospital too."
Nala was speechless and said to the second monkey, "Okay, okay."
While packing his things, Lingxin said to his brother who insisted on going along, "You don’t even like him; wouldn’t staying home to play be better?"
"No way." The second monkey had his reasons, "If you leave, and I’m alone here, my brain’s not as smart as yours. What if I sneak something to eat? Without you to help, what will I do?"
This little brother, after tasting some benefits, stuck to him like glue. Lingxin’s small forehead dropped a large line of sweat.
The second monkey squinted at his brother’s expression, suddenly reached out, patted his brother’s shoulder, and said, "Don’t worry, brother, when I’m there, I won’t cause any trouble and will help solve problems for you."
As for this, Lingxin just said "yeah," not really expecting the second monkey to be of any help. As long as he didn’t cause trouble, that was enough.
Both monkeys packed their things and followed Nala out the door.
In the living room, the parents were busy, and the two monkeys, not wanting to disturb them, left without saying goodbye.
They got into Nala’s car, both monkeys clutching their backpacks, wearing little sunglasses, acting very cool and quiet the whole way.
Nala looked at the back through the rear-view mirror and noticed these two little guys were wearing identical outfits. Looking at them like this, it was really hard to tell who was who.
Arriving at Simon’s new book launch. Simon’s fans had already gathered on site, packed tightly together. Seeing this scene, Lingxin felt extremely proud and thrilled. The person he admired was indeed a big figure, liked by many.
With his brother, they arrived at Simon’s dressing room. Nala first sent an assistant in to communicate.
While the two monkeys waited outside the door, the second monkey whispered in his brother’s ear, "Brother, you go in first later, I’ll stand guard at the door."
"Didn’t you say you wanted to meet him too?" Lingxin glanced at his brother.
After a while, the assistant confirmed that besides Simon, there was no one else inside, and invited the two kids in.
The two monkeys entered the dressing room. Inside, a gentle-looking man was sitting in a chair. Lingxin recognized at once that it was the writer he admired, and his little eyes filled with emotion as he gazed at him. Simon saw what was happening in Lingxin’s eyes and smiled at him, "Come over, your Chinese name is Lingxin, right?"
Lingxin walked over, while the second monkey quietly retreated to the door. Finding a chance, he slipped out. Since his brother finally got to meet someone he liked, how could he act as a light bulb?
After chatting with his idol for a while, seeing Simon sign his new book for him and write special words of blessing, Lingxin was completely satisfied. He knew his mom was right: achieving the attention of someone he liked through his own efforts was far better than receiving a gift through someone else’s connections. It was a real sense of accomplishment.
Because Simon needed to attend the signing event. After hugging and exchanging contact numbers with Simon, Lingxin left.
Leaving the dressing room, as previously arranged, they followed Nala’s assistant out the venue to the waiting car at the back door.
Once in the car, Lingxin gradually felt an emptiness beside him, something wasn’t right. Thinking further, right, where was that second monkey always sticking to him?
