So he pressed Qin Feimo’s doorbell and indeed saw her open the door.

"I-I was planning to return to Jingcheng, so I checked out of the room. Who knew Qin Feimo would suddenly assign me a job, so I temporarily stayed here."

She found a reason that was somewhat of a reason, because she really didn’t know what to say.

"Then couldn’t you just book another room?"

For Xiang Jinnan, there was no necessity for her to share a room with Qin.

He looked up, glanced at the luxurious suite behind her, there was only one room here, could it be that she and Qin shared the same bed?

"Moreover, there’s only one room here."

Out of his fondness for her, or maybe because he cared too much, he spoke with a pointed remark.

Feng Jinglei was slightly taken aback by his words, her expression subtly changed.

She knew what Xiang Jinnan was implying. For a single girl like her, perhaps she really shouldn’t be alone in a room with a man. Yet, even so, she didn’t quite like Xiang Jinnan talking to her in that tone.

She didn’t speak, just fixed her gaze on him.

Realizing he had spoken a bit abruptly, Xiang Jinnan immediately offered an apology.

"Sorry, I didn’t mean to interfere in your affairs, it’s just..." he liked her, so he cared about her.

And she had said, there was no romantic relationship between her and Qin.

"Forget it, let’s not talk about this."

She really didn’t like others interfering in her matters.

Her relationship with Xiang Jinnan was that of friends, but not close enough for him to meddle in her personal matters.

Some things, once spoken, might tear them apart; better to leave it hinted, preserving this rare friendship.

She turned around and walked to the sofa, sitting down.

"Sit down."

Xiang Jinnan surveyed the suite, not seeing Qin Feimo’s figure, so he wasn’t too reserved, and followed her to sit on the sofa.

Knowing she was unwilling to bring up the matter again, Xiang Jinnan didn’t ask further, but instead showed concern for the scar on her face.

"What happened? I heard from Assistant Lin that you got injured and something happened."

"Yes." Feng Jinglei sat quietly, recalling the events at Paradise World, still causing lingering fear in her heart.

"For some reason, I got into a car by mistake and ended up in a... rather scary place, but fortunately I’m fine, Qin Feimo—"

As if suddenly remembering something, Feng Jinglei’s tone faltered.

She was rescued by Qin Feimo, he actually came to save her...

She thought he wouldn’t come, but he did.

Seeing her about to speak but then suddenly falling silent, Xiang Jinnan fixed his gaze on her, "What’s wrong?"

Returning to her senses, she lifted her gaze, "Nothing, luckily Qin Feimo arrived in time, so I only suffered minor injuries, it’s nothing."
