Contract Marriage: Love Has Finally Arrived
Chapter 1542 - 1543: Nausea
Qin Feimo unexpectedly raised his eyes; in the past three years, he had never visited her parents’ grave.
Precisely because of this, Feng Jinglei quickly spoke up, "No need, I’ll go by myself."
Seeing her eager refusal, Qin Feimo’s dark eyes unconsciously darkened.
"No way." Zhuang Yanyan flatly refused. It would be fine normally, but today her face didn’t look good, and she couldn’t stop worrying.
Moreover, she wanted to create an opportunity for them to be alone together. Isn’t winter supposed to be the most romantic season for lovers?
Looking at Feng Jinglei, Zhuang Yanyan spoke out of concern, "Your complexion doesn’t look good. Grandma doesn’t feel at ease. Since everyone is on holiday, Feimo doesn’t need to go to the company, let him accompany you."
Feng Jinglei was very perceptive; if she knew Qin Feimo didn’t want to go, she naturally wouldn’t want to bother him.
"Grandma, it’s really not necessary—"
"It’s decided then!" Zhuang Yanyan didn’t want to discuss this further. She turned around and picked up the phone on the coffee table, "I’ll make a call to see when Jue will come back."
It was almost New Year’s, and she hoped the whole family could be together this year.
Seeing no further attention from her, Feng Jinglei’s voice halted, and inadvertently she looked up, glancing at Qin Feimo, just in time to meet his gaze.
After lunch, Qin Feimo personally drove her to the cemetery.
During the twenty-minute journey, neither of them spoke.
Feng Jinglei stared out the window, noticing snowflakes slowly starting to fall from the sky.
"Are you okay?"
As she was lost in thought watching the snowflakes, his deep and magnetic voice suddenly came from the driver’s seat.
Her gaze froze, and she turned to look at him, only to see him focused on driving, making her wonder if he had really spoken that sentence.
Seeing her unresponsive, Qin Feimo finally turned his head and glanced at her, "You don’t look well."
She started, instinctively raising her hand to touch her cheek.
For some reason, being questioned by him made her heart feel flustered, and a faint blush crept up.
Did her complexion really look so bad?
"I’m okay." She lowered her head and gently replied.
Qin Feimo didn’t think much of it, assuming she was just in a heavy mood due to visiting her parents’ grave.
At the cemetery, looking at the cold tombstone with her parents’ black-and-white photo together, Feng Jinglei indeed felt unusually heavy-hearted.
She placed a bouquet of chrysanthemums in front of the tombstone, gazing at the photo. She had an endless stream of words, but perhaps because Qin Feimo was beside her, she could only converse with her deceased parents in her heart.
She missed them, missed them so very much...
Tears unknowingly slipped from her eyes, causing Qin Feimo, standing beside her, to slightly turn his head. Upon seeing that glimmer of tears, his mood also became overwhelmingly heavy and uneasy.
The snow fell harder, gradually whitening their shoulders and hair.
If she were alone, Feng Jinglei might have stayed much longer. But considering Qin Feimo was waiting for her, and the freezing weather, she couldn’t linger for too long—probably only around half an hour before she turned to leave.
Just as she turned around, a plaid handkerchief was offered in front of her.
She paused, looking up at Qin Feimo.
"Thank you." She took the handkerchief and wiped away her tears.
After wiping, she wanted to return the handkerchief but realized it was dirty, so she held it tightly in her hand, intending to wash it before giving it back. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
As this thought crossed her mind, suddenly a wave of nausea hit her chest, causing her brows to furrow involuntarily, followed by a rapid surge of sickness—
