Cosmic Patron System: 100X Return on Every Reward
Chapter 74 - 0 | Before the Storm
"Dhiren Sharma, NA007-DS003, dictating Priority One mission, Identity and Eliminate the hunters working against Indian interests, spread throughout Mumbai and nearby cities."
"Additionally, specific operations will be included under this mission according to situation and stability. Keep in mind that the mission area may expand if needed." Her master, Dhiren, stated the mission formally.
"I accept, master," Arpita bowed her head slightly.
"Good, now the reason behind this mission is something you must know and it will help you in your mission too," Dhiren spoke.
Arpita nodded positively, listening attentively.
"How much do you know about state of the world before The Merge?" he asked.
"I was undercover in Australia at that time, so I couldn’t keep up with the news. But I know this much that tensions were high," she answered.
"Yeah, you were one of the few agents who were active before The Merge," he nodded, "The world just before The Merge was sitting on a powder keg. Everyone wanted a piece of someone else’s territory and India was one of the grounds for that war."
"So, why wasn’t I called back?" She interrupted.
"Hear me out first, our neighbouring countries were used as proxies who wanted to pressurize us into giving them control over something they desired," he explained.
"Be it the market, a port or land. But India was keeping them at bay with its strength and some allies. However the Merge changed everything."
"Now countries aren’t run by the governments and soldiers aren’t fighting with guns. The enemies I am talking about are members of multiple guilds who want control over the population of India."
"The higher the population, more hunters can be produced. Guilds can’t directly control a hunter’s personal strength but they can control the numbers." He added.
"And higher the number of members working for a guild, higher their earning and subscription will be," Arpita completed the words.
"Exactly, so this time the fight is between guilds and the hunters are the soldiers. The Nisapal is at the forefront of this brewing conflict." He nodded.
"I understand, master."
"Good, my work here is done. Are you going to intervene further in guildmaster’s death matter?" he asked as he stood up.
"Not unless I absolutely need to," she responded, standing up, following her master.
"Good, take care of yourself and you don’t need to worry about answering any questions related to your blackout order. You are in the clear," he stated turning.
"I will master," she responded, "I have one more question, master. Is there any deadline about this possible conflict?"
"I think about a month or two, a summit is supposed to happen in 2 months where everything will be finalized. But everything is fluid, so keep your ears sharp," he replied.
"As you say master, thank you for your time," she bowed her head in response.
Just as she raised her head, her master was gone, there was no presence of him, like he was never there.
"So, what now?" Luna finally spoke up.
"You were awfully quiet?" Arpita asked she stored the chairs in her inventory.
"When I saw that your master was here, I decided to not speak if not necessary and let you talk to him silently." Luna responded.
"Well, its okay, you are my partner now, you can speak in my personal matters. Now, I have to find hunters and eliminate them, my nights just got a whole lot of busy," Arpita responded, moving toward the gate.
Just then her phone beeped again. She took out her message to check for messages.
"I got the suspect list, I have to confirm and eliminate names in them for the meantime," she commented.
"And when are you planning to talk to Reyansh?" Luna questioned.
"Hmm...he is probably going to take her sister home and he has mentioned about starting his stream a bit late today. I will think of something when he starts his stream," Arpita decided as walked downstairs.
"But I have to hurry, it may take people time to uncover his real identity but I am sure people will try to contact him through his channel, especially guilds from other countries from what master shared with me."
"If people can find out about his identity eventually, why do you think he wears that mask?" Luna questioned, she was trying hard to come up with answers.
"I think its looks cool, if I had such mask, I would sure like to wear it. But for reasons, I am more leaning towards the reason being hide from viewers." Arpita replied.
"I’m having a hard time understanding him fully, he is too smart to predict him naturally. One reason being, he know he is strong but not strong enough yet and this mask is giving him time until he becomes truly strong, at least on earth."
"Let’s first do a round of school, I didn’t go to school yesterday because of watching the stream. And students might be freaking about the Jai’s execution, he was known among the students due to his son." Arpita decided as she hurried to the ground floor.
As she reached the floor, exiting the building, one thought lingered in her mind, ’Is there really going to be war even after humanity just underwent something catastrophic as Merge?’
Meanwhile Arpita left the building, Reyansh was ready to leave the hospital with Vanya. They were just waiting for few paperwork formalities.
"Brother, why don’t you call the cab? It will be here when we are ready to go," Vanya suggested.
"Yeah, sure," Reyansh nodded as he took out the phone, acting like he was doing something on the phone.
He only checked the time, 08:50 AM, ’he should have called by now, does he need more time?’ he wondered.
Just as he was fidgeting with his mobile, his mobile vibrated as it received a call, before it could ring, he picked up the call.
"Hello, StarWalker Sir, I am at the car showroom. I have picked out the latest Aether Ride but I wanted your opinion on the color before finalizing it," Amit voice came from other side of call.
"Hii...hello...I can’t hear you properly, wait let me get in the open," Reyansh spoke signalling to Vanya that he was going outside, she nodded.
"Okay, sir, I am waiting," Amit responded, not knowing the reason behind Reyansh words.
In a few seconds, he was in the lobby, away from the room.
"Yeah, what are the color choices available?" Reyansh replied.
"Sir?" Amit spoke, a bit confused, thinking he would have to repeat his words.
"My sister was in the room, so I had to come out. The new car is a surprise for her, so color choices, tell me," he shared.
"Fiery Red, Sunset Yellow and Indigo..." before he could give more options, Reyansh interrupted.
"Red one, its Vanya’s favorite color. How much should I pay?" he asked.
"Around 50,000 Cosmic coins, Sir," Amit answered.
"Okay, I am sending you the payment. How much time would it take for you to reach the hospital?"
"I will be coming straight to hospital, so half an hour maximum."
"Okay, hurry up," Reyansh spoke as he ended the call.
He opened the system screen and sent 50,000 Cosmic Coins to Amit. Just as he closed the system panel and turned back towards the room, a notification panel popped up, prompting him to stop.
He opened the panel to check, it read:

"Now, that’s interesting," a smile formed on his face as he saw the notification.
