Chapter 340: Chapter 304: Treasury

Jeming hovered above the entrance of the cave, the perceptions of the Eye of Scouting spreading downward.

At the same time, he activated Alchemy, his Spiritual Power probing downwards along the metal walls beside him like tendrils.

The feedback from Scouting Witchcraft clearly presented itself in Jeming’s mind: below lay not a simple passageway, but a vast underground space. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂

The layout and structure faintly suggested that it was once some kind of commercial venue, but now it had become a battlefield.

Three wizards in gray robes were desperately supporting themselves against a broken metal support pillar, their bodies flickering with the Spirit Light of Witchcraft, clearly heavily depleted.

Their opponents were dozens of indigenous people of the Giant Spirit Realm, varying in form.

Most of these natives had a semi-fluid slime-like base form, fused with various mechanical components, wielding energy weapons or casting their innate magic-like abilities.

The most striking among them were four particularly large elite individuals, their energy fluctuations remarkably at the Fourth Level.

They were like the field leaders, commanding the other low-level natives to continuously attack.

The three Third Level Wizards fighting against four Fourth Level elites plus numerous foot soldiers faced a daunting task to achieve victory.

Jeming’s unabashed spiritual power sweep was immediately sensed by the struggling wizards below.

"Friend above! Help us deal with these enemies, and we’ll split the spoils found here!" An eager plea emanated through spiritual power from the lead Third Level Wizard, his voice tinged with urgency.

"Okay."

Jeming responded succinctly and decisively dove down towards the entrance below.

As he descended, the tide of battle suddenly turned perilous.

One wizard, evading a corrosive spear wreathed in ominous black smoke that shot from the shadows, was forced to assume an Elemental Incarnation, turning his entire body into a flowing stream of water.

The spear penetrated the watery curtain, causing no physical harm, but the accompanying soul-eroding power left the wizard’s face pale as paper when he reformed into human shape.

A flush crawled violently upon him, and he spat a mouthful of fresh blood, his aura rapidly waning, clearly suffering significant soul damage.

"Roar!!!"

Just as the four Fourth Level natives prepared to seize this chance to finish off the gravely injured wizard, a roar shook the entire underground space!

A massive black figure crashed into the center of the battlefield like a meteor, Jeming’s revived Fifth Level Black Giant!

The moment it appeared, its terrifying pressure froze all the indigenous people’s actions.

Without any theatrics, it swung a punch towards the nearest Fourth Level native, the fist creating an explosive boom as it compressed the air!

The slime-shaped Fourth Level native reacted swiftly, its main body instantly extending several sticky tentacles, flinging a few unwary low-level kindred like stones towards the Black Giant’s fist.

It used the force to retreat backward, narrowly escaping the lethal strike.

"Watch out!"

However, another wizard who had been observing the entire scene suddenly changed his expression, shouting a warning to Jeming who had just landed.

Almost simultaneously with his shout, from the shadows behind Jeming, a figure almost blending into the environment suddenly surged!

Lacking any external apparatus, its body stretched and hardened in an instant into a sharp biological bone spear, thrusting with astonishing speed towards Jeming’s back!

The enemy’s concealment tactics were remarkably adept, as even Jeming’s Scouting Talisman and own senses failed to provide advance warning!

Yet, the anticipated scene of the bone spear piercing through did not occur.

The Third Level indigenous assailant felt a momentary confusion as its target’s silhouette seemed to flicker slightly, causing its thunderous attack to... miss entirely?!

It couldn’t comprehend how its speed, seemingly at the pinnacle, could be so easily evaded.

Jeming’s mind flashed with a satisfied smile.

Naturally, he wouldn’t reveal that the "Temporal Disorder" field accompanying the Black Giant’s arrival had subtly enveloped the surrounding small area.

To the enemy whose perception was that its speed was at the extreme, it was merely an ordinary lunge in Jeming’s temporal reference frame.

"Attempting a sneak attack?"

Jeming raised his right hand, and ten crystal-carved special Talisman Witchcrafts on his wrist suddenly shone with piercing light.

The next moment, hundreds of concentrated and scorching energy beams shot out from the crystals!

Rather than scatter attacks, under Jeming’s meticulous control, these beams rapidly converged and fused mid-air, ultimately forming a white-hot light cannon as thick as a barrel, imbued with destructive energy.

With unstoppable force, it blasted towards the attacker who, due to the time flow discrepancy, appeared "slow"!

Within the Deceleration Force Field, the ambusher had no time for effective evasion, only watching in horror as the light cannon pierced and vaporized both its defensive energy and resilient body!

After ensuring the enemy was eliminated with a few more shots, Jeming cautiously used his Spiritual Power to gather the remaining tissue remnants as trophies.

On the other side, with the addition of the Fifth Level Black Giant, the battle was suddenly reversed.

The Black Giant, like a tiger entering a flock of sheep, its formidable physical resistance and energy absorption properties allowed it to almost disregard most attacks, while the Temporal Disorder domain made its besieging enemies suffer greatly.

The remaining three Wizards felt much less pressure, their spirits uplifted, and quickly cleared out the remaining enemies with the Black Giant.

Before long, the battle ended.

The three Wizards, including the one who barely managed to stabilize his injuries after taking medicine, all gathered around Jeming.

When they saw the Alchemy Badge on Jeming’s robe, they couldn’t help but reveal joyful expressions on their faces.

The injured Wizard, while tearing open his damaged Wizard Robe and applying a cool green ointment on the eerie black corrosion marks on his chest, took the initiative to introduce the situation to Jeming, his tone carrying the gratitude and excitement of having survived a great peril:

"Friend, thank you for your help! We are from the ’Gray Tower’ squad. We discovered that deep within this underground complex, there’s a well-preserved treasure vault! Judging by the structure and energy reactions, there could be a significant amount of resources stockpiled inside. However..."

He paused, showing a hint of helplessness on his face: "That treasure vault is sealed by a special talisman, and when we tried to forcibly break it, we triggered a precursor alarm of the self-destruct mechanism, which drew in those guards and subsequent reinforcements you saw earlier."

"The original fixed guards of the treasure vault were already dealt with by us, but it seems there are still indigenous defenders unwilling to give up on this place, persistently sending people to either reclaim or stop us."

Hearing this, Jeming nodded thoughtfully.

The relentless attempts by the indigenous defenders to reclaim the place suggested the treasure vault’s extraordinary value.

No wonder they were so happy to see an Alchemy Wizard like him—the specialty of Alchemists is cracking these kinds of technical seals.

"I can give it a try." Jeming said succinctly and then proposed a condition, "If I successfully break the seal, I require the privilege to have first pick of one of the spoils."

The other two Wizards in decent condition exchanged glances and then looked at their leader, who nodded without hesitation, "It’s only fair! Without your timely arrival, we wouldn’t even be talking about the vault, let alone preserving our lives."

With the agreement made, Jeming, under the Black Giant’s guard, arrived at a heavy metal door located at the deepest part of the underground buildings.

The door was engraved with complex energy patterns, with a circular indentation at its center, emitting a subtle yet dangerous energy fluctuation.

Jeming extended his right hand, gently pressed it against the cold metal door, closed his eyes, and used Alchemy, his spiritual power slowly infiltrating the structure of the seal.

In his perception, the inside of the seal was like a complex trap.

Several strands of peculiar energy, like "fuses," intertwined and connected to a massive and volatile energy source.

Any attempt to violently alter the material forms or energy states inside the treasure vault would instantly sever these "fuses," detonating the enormous energy source, destroying everything within, including the person attempting to crack the seal.

"A very ingenious design, using the unique power traits of the indigenous defenders as the key..." Jeming mused to himself.

He thought for a moment before deciding to use the safest method.

Maintaining his Alchemy, Jeming also performed the Extraction Technique.

His spiritual power turned into an invisible hand, carefully bypassing the sensitive trigger points, directly acting upon the few strands of peculiar energy that served as "fuses."

With the capability of the Extraction Technique, he meticulously stripped and drew out these energies from the seal structure, channeling them into an energy container temporarily constructed within his body’s space.

Woo! Woo! Woo!

At the moment the last "fuse" was extracted, the patterns on the treasure vault’s door suddenly lit up with a blinding red light, emitting a sharp, piercing alarm!

The sound echoed in the vast underground space, spreading far and wide.

However, that was all it did.

Having lost the "fuses" that would trigger the massive energy source, the alarm served no purpose other than making noise and potentially attracting more enemies.

Jeming remained unfazed, his actions uninterrupted.

Although without the fuses, the treasure vault was likely already safe.

But to be absolutely sure, he used the Extraction Technique again, this time directly targeting the dormant yet immense energy source at the seal’s core.

With his efforts, the terrifying energy, sufficient to blow up the surrounding kilometers, was completely extracted.

Transformed into a continually twisting and flickering orb of light, it was carefully sealed inside his body’s space.

"Just perfect to replenish the previous consumption..." Jeming felt a slight relief; this high-quality energy was an unexpected delight.

Having completed everything, he took a step back, and instructed the Black Giant standing beside him like a black iron tower.

The Black Giant let out a low roar, its enormous hands covered with liquid metal plunged fiercely into the crack of the treasure vault door!

Screech—Bang!!

With a teeth-grinding sound of metal tearing, the heavy metal door that had lost its energy protection and existed only as a physical structure was forcefully ripped open by the Black Giant’s terrifying strength, as if it were made of paper, revealing the dark cavity of the treasure vault inside.

A strong energy aura and a peculiar smell of mixed metals and unknown compounds wafted out from the opened vault instantly.
