Cultivating in the Wizard World
Chapter 343 - 307: Koger’s Decision
Giant Spirit Realm, Royal City Center.
In the depths of this magnificent city constructed entirely of metal, stands the most towering Mechanical Temple.
Countless thick energy conduits cling to the interior and exterior of the temple like veins, pulsating with a heart-stopping glow.
At this moment, beneath the temple’s most core dome, on the metallic throne that symbolizes supreme authority, space blurred and twisted, and a colossal shadow, several times larger than the typical natives of the Giant Spirit Realm, appeared out of thin air, slowly solidifying.
It was none other than the Master of the World of the Giant Spirit Realm — Koger!
Its body also displayed a semi-fluid characteristic similar to slime, but more solidified, as if composed of molten obsidian.
Its surface is covered with countless dense natural patterns like circuit boards.
Three pairs of multifaceted eyes are distributed in different positions, resembling six cold stars, slowly scanning the silent temple.
"Unknown... enemy?"
Koger’s voice echoed in the temple, so calm it showed no waves, nor did it emit any trace of menace.
However, it was this plain statement that made the Giant Spirit Realm general kneeling below the throne feel as though pressed by an invisible mountain.
Even though covered in High Level Battle Armor, the general still felt as if its entire mucous body would collapse, fear causing the energy cycle within it to become disordered.
Koger’s three pairs of eyes simultaneously focused, like six searchlights, locking onto its subordinate.
The invisible pressure almost crushed the opponent’s consciousness: "Such a fierce battle has already erupted, barriers have been torn apart, territories invaded, yet you tell me, you haven’t captured even a shred of core information about the opponent?"
The subordinate’s body trembled violently but still forcibly emitted broken, energy-intermittent mental waves:
"Forgive me, my lord! All attempts to collect their corpses or capture prisoners... have utterly failed!"
"Neither the bodies themselves nor the units executing the collection were spared; they were erased completely from existence at the moment of success by... some force! We... we only have the recorded images and energy wave data from the battle."
"However... we... we have initially deciphered their language, but many key terms cannot be interpreted. We only know they call themselves — ’Wizards’."
The last two words were imitated with all the strength the general had left, replicating the precise pronunciation of the Wizard Civilization deciphered from the battlefield communication fragments.
"Wizards..." Koger repeated the word softly, a glimmer of interest flashing in its six eyes, "They came prepared, perhaps even knowing about our ’absorb and evolve’ trait. It seems this is not a chance encounter, but more like a conspiracy targeting the Giant Spirit Realm."
Feeling that the master did not immediately deliver destruction, the general’s mind raced frantically in a bid to find an explanation that could shift the blame and ensure survival.
Suddenly, its spirit lifted, and it hurriedly said: "My lord, wise judgment! The gods (those Seventh Level Natives) have also all lost contact; they must have been lured by those insignificant and lowly Wizards into the trap pre-set by their ’God of Wizard’!"
"Moreover... just as you, my lord, launched a new round of conquest against the ’Desolate Bone Star Realm’, these beings who claim to be Wizards appeared by coincidence, with such understanding of us... The subordinate believes this is highly likely to be a conspiracy by ’Shira’, or even the ’Fungus Lord’!"
By Shira and the Fungus Lord, it referred to the other two powerful civilizations, the "Mind Realm" and "Reproduction Realm", in the Triangular Plane Community.
"From the battlefield images, those Wizards also drive various races with different forms into combat, the other party must also be a powerful civilization ruling territories spanning multiple worlds!"
Koger’s enormous body slightly adjusted its posture on the throne, emitting a low metallic friction sound:
"Shira... with her style of playing mind games, indeed might do such things. Colluding with outsiders, diverting trouble eastward... hmph!"
It let out a heart-palpitating cold snort, causing the metallic walls around to resonate with a humming sound.
"I want to see, once I capture these Wizards’ leaders with my own hands and pry open their memory cores, what kind of flowery words Shira can concoct to shirk responsibility!"
In fact, in the long-standing competition and external expansion of the Triangular Plane Community’s three civilizations, they had long realized the importance of banding together in the Endless Void.
Compared to other completely unfamiliar exotic realm civilizations, although there were constant frictions among them, they had already formed a sort of loose alliance, especially when facing common external threats or interests.
Koger no longer continued to dwell on these matters, turning its multi-faceted eyes to its subordinate: "How is the military mobilization?"
Upon hearing this, the subordinate secretly sighed in relief, knowing it narrowly escaped disaster.
It promptly reported: "Reporting to my lord! The local legions are rapidly assembling, and many strong individuals fighting abroad have also received orders to return urgently via the hyperspace channels! Estimated in ten descending days, we will be ready with a grand army capable of crushing any invader!"
Koger nodded slightly in satisfaction, the Giant Spirit Realm’s efficient war machine was already in motion, its efficiency by no means inferior to any world.
"Very well. In the meantime, we cannot remain idle. Deploy all intelligence networks, at any cost, quickly uncover more information on these ’Wizards’! Their power systems, civilization structure, weaknesses... I want to know everything! On that basis, formulate specific annihilation plans!"
"Yes! I faithfully obey your majesty’s command!"
The subordinate, as if granted amnesty, squirmed its terrifying body, manipulated its armor, and quickly exited the suffocating Mechanical Temple.
In the empty Divine Hall, Koger was silent for a moment. His massive body slid down from the throne like a flowing mountain, moving to a secret chamber at the back of the hall filled with various intricate instruments.
He first activated one of the oddly shaped communication devices.
The display lit up, but opposite was a deep darkness, only a voice that seemed to directly act on the mind came through:
"Koger? Contacting me at this hour, what’s the matter? Your new toy (referring to the Desolate Bone Star Realm) run into trouble?"
Koger didn’t beat around the bush and directly questioned: "Shira, the so-called ’Wizard Civilization’ that suddenly appeared within my territory, is it some trick you’re playing behind the scenes?"
Shira, on the opposite side of the screen, was silent for a moment, then his voice carried a hint of displeasure and seriousness: "Koger, be mindful of your accusations. I know nothing about this."
"Handle your own troubles quickly and get rid of them. Don’t forget, the time for us to fulfill the ’contract’ is near."
Though there was no concrete evidence, Koger’s furrowed brows—if the structure of his writhing body could be called brows—relaxed a little.
He, Shira, and Fungus Lord were all old rivals, also old "friends." 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮
All of them are ancient monsters who have lived countless years, truly intelligent beings.
Most importantly, recently, the three Masters of the World were cooperating with another larger, more terrifying and powerful world—or rather, they were "hired" by that world, about to jointly carry out a dangerous yet highly rewarding mission.
With this significant cooperation underway, Shira provoking an unknown powerful civilization at this time to cause trouble was indeed unlikely.
The previous inquiry was more of a warning and probing, to prevent Shira from having some unknown ulterior motives.
"It better be," Koger responded deeply, then ended the communication.
The secret chamber returned to silence.
Koger’s three pairs of compound eyes glowed with calculating light.
"Wizard...driving multispecies warfare...highly targeted information blackout..." he pondered.
Though he essentially ruled out the possibility of Shira’s direct meddling, it was crucial for the Giant Spirit Realm to gather more intelligence about this suddenly appearing enemy to be safe.
He needed to be more proactive and delve further into understanding these self-proclaimed "Wizards."
Since battlefield information was unavailable, then...
Koger’s massive, solid semi-fluid body wriggled slightly with agitation in the spacious secret chamber.
His three pairs of compound eyes were fixed on the other end of the chamber, on a massive array made of countless rare metals and Space Crystal Stones.
The array’s lines complex and ancient, emitting faint cross-dimensional ripples.
Expressions of hesitation and struggle alternated on his face that was difficult to discern.
Finally, he seemed to make a decision, with deep heartache, he slowly "rolled" out an object from a nearby space.
It was approximately the size of a fist, a crystal entirely deep gold, its interior seemingly having liquid luminescence flowing slowly.
As soon as it appeared, the whole chamber was permeated with a pure and warm soul energy aura, invigorating one’s spirit.
Thousand Soul Golden Crystal!
Expended billions of high-level souls, only after countless years could such a soul treasure be condensed!
Even with Koger’s status and accumulation, such a treasure was precious and scarce, like a piece of his heart.
Koger’s body surface undulated like waves, expressing his heartache in a physical manner.
"Forget it; Shira, that guy is right; the contract is imminent, best to eliminate all surprises in the cradle...hopefully, that self-proclaimed Wizard civilization can loot enough resources to make up for this loss!"
He carefully mounted this golden crystal into the central groove of the array that it fit perfectly.
Buzz!!!
Once the crystal was placed, the array was instantly activated, all the lines and runes lighting up one by one, emitting intense spatial fluctuations and soul resonance.
Golden energy flowed out like blood from the crystal stone, rushing along the array pattern, ultimately constructing a continuously twisting, blurred light gate above the array.
After waiting for about a quarter of an hour, the light gate gradually stabilized.
An immense, somewhat ethereal and mischievous will descended slowly across an unknown vast void, filling the entire chamber.
