Chapter 1283: Chapter 28: Millennium Ghost Sunflower (Part 2)

The Ghost Sunflower Roots stretch for a thousand miles. If it encounters powerful enemies, it can burrow into the earth and escape, relocating its roots and flowers elsewhere. Zhang Boyant tied it up immediately upon arrival, originally leaving a few backup plans, but obtaining it so easily was somewhat unexpected. He sneered coldly, "Is this all you can do, daring to confront me."

Despite cultivating for thousands of years, this Ghost Sunflower is ultimately not a natural anomaly like the Dragon Carp or Flood Dragon. Without transformation, it lacks any Divine Power Skills. Maybe it could spar briefly with ordinary Nascent Soul cultivators, but how could it possibly contend with him, an elder of the Nether Spring Sect? Twisting for a while only tightened the grasp of Zhang’s black hands, and suddenly, the two leaf clusters swelled and burst, emitting black pulp shooting skywards like an arrow.

Zhang Boyant laughed wickedly, "Good timing!"

Above, the Gang Cloud shook, and with a resounding boom, a wholly black Nascent Soul emerged from the top, transforming into six Zhang tall. It inhaled in a single gulp and instantly absorbed the smoke arrow.

The poisonous arrow refined by the Ghost Sunflower typically dealt with spirits and cultivators, but before him, it completely lost effectiveness. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎

Zhang Boyant activated a Mysterious Skill, slightly refined the toxins, then with a shake of his shoulder, dozens of Green Fire clusters rose from the Gang Cloud, dancing in the air. This spell, named "Netherworld Lamp Green Flames," if it falls on a living being, uses their Essence Qi to burn. Without a technique to counter it, it won’t extinguish until the body is entirely reduced to a skeleton.

He had learned this Daoist Skill but had never mastered it, only managing minor success after using the Spiritual Energy of the Cave Heaven Blessed Land. He had never used it in battle until now, testing it on the Ghost Sunflower.

As he moved his mind, dozens of eerie Netherworld Lamps floated down. The Ghost Sunflower, terrified by the approaching flames, waved its flower and leaves, exuding strands of gray-white mist to cover itself. But the strange Green Fire penetrated the mist unobstructed, sticking to its stalk and leaves. Upon contact, it flared up a Zhang high like oil poured on fire. The Ghost Sunflower’s body shuddered violently, letting out a painful scream.

Though it’s a spirit monster of vegetation, transforming is difficult, yet it possesses an ability: after cultivating for so many years, its body is as strong as forged iron, unable to be cleaved by weaker Divine Weapons, but it’s helpless against this fire.

After struggling for a while, its flower opened up, releasing a white smoke upon which stood a green-haired Child with a small towering braid, glaring resentfully at Zhang Boyant and shouting, "I have no enmity with you, why harm me?"

Zhang Boyant knew it was the Primordial Spirit Transformation flying out, revealing a sinister smile, "The Sect Master needs your body for Alchemy, and you should stop pretending to be innocent. Look at these hundreds of thousands of bones here, mostly human, you’re no saint either."

The Child’s face went pale, hesitating for a long time, before finally gritting its teeth, "Disaster has come upon me today, I know I can’t avoid it, if you can turn me human, what’s wrong with giving you my body? Otherwise, I’d rather twist out my own roots and let my Primordial Spirit vanish in smoke than meet your demands!"

Once the Ghost Sunflower breaks its roots, it becomes completely useless. Zhang Boyant narrowed his eyes, silent for a long time, seemingly considering seriously.

After a while, he seemed somewhat unwilling, "Fine, I’ll agree to it."

The Ghost Sunflower Child was still not at ease, "Swear an oath first."

Zhang Boyant didn’t hesitate and immediately swore.

Only then did the Ghost Sunflower Child feel at ease, shaking its body and retracting its Primordial Spirit Transformation. Gradually, the ten-zhang tall body shrank to three feet in height.

Zhang Boyant pointed a finger and first withdrew the Netherworld Lamp Green Flame, then flicked his sleeve, and a hundred black hands instantly morphed into several, encircling it several times. Finally, he lifted and carried it into the sky. The Ghost Sunflower had no suspicion, offered no resistance, and instead obediently pulled its roots and leaves from the earth, allowing him to take them all.

Having seized this item successfully, Zhang Boyant let out a loud laugh, riding a desolate yellow wind back towards the mountain gate of Han Yuan Sect.

About an hour later, the Ghost Sunflower suddenly asked curiously, "You Daoist, I forgot to ask earlier, what spell do you plan to use to turn me human?"

Zhang Boyant replied perfunctorily, "What spell do I have to help you?"

The Ghost Sunflower was taken aback and began struggling, shouting, "You swore an oath! Are you intending to break it?"

Zhang Boyant laughed loudly, "A mere spirit monster of plants, how could I be coerced by you? It was just a fake oath."

He had long noticed the Ghost Sunflower lacked discernment, perhaps aware of the oath’s name but likely unclear of its true significance, thus he fabricated a false one.

In truth, spoken promises by cultivators inherently contain hidden mysteries, but as a Demon Sect practitioner, deceit is commonplace, he has his methods, and the earlier words were utterly powerless to bind him.

After hearing this, the Ghost Sunflower cursed loudly.

Zhang Boyant coldly chuckled several times; if not concerned about the Primordial Spirit possibly being lost and hindering Zhang Yan’s Alchemy, he wouldn’t stand the clamoring. He acted as if he didn’t hear.

After flying west for three days, he reached the western border of Divine House Mountain, then spent another day and night to arrive back at Cangzhu Peak. The familiar disciples recognized him, opened the Mountain Gate Prohibition Array early, and he transformed into a stream of yellow smoke heading straight to the peak.

Outside of the Cave Mansion, he stopped his Escape Skill and landed on the open ground.

Zhang Yan, who was meditating, sensed his return, waved his sleeve to open the Cave Mansion Stone Gate, and smiled, "In just over twenty days, Daoist Zhang has returned. Surely there’s been a harvest."

Upon entering the Cave Mansion, Zhang Boyant bowed respectfully before he said, "Pavilion Master, this journey has been fortunate. I captured a Ghost Sunflower with thousands of years of Daoist Cultivation to use for your Alchemy."
