Demi-human Girls Completion Manual
Chapter 1330 - 21: Shadow of the Demon
"Uuh, hubby..."
Listening to the sweet voice of Ingrid in front of him, Fisher felt no enjoyment at all. Rafael and Moli beside him were already close to exploding, and he felt like he was on pins and needles, wishing he could throw this person before him into the sea.
In these brief seconds, the events occurred suddenly and rapidly. He first thought, could it be that this person had forsaken their life and dignity for the so-called news, willing to do something that would take their own life, but upon careful thought, it didn’t seem right.
If she was still just an intern reporter from that giant serpent newspaper, come for the so-called news, then where did she get a ship full of treasures? These things don’t seem like something an intern reporter should have.
Thinking of this, Fisher gritted his teeth, suddenly reached out and grabbed her shoulder, carefully controlling his strength to avoid damaging the girl in front of him who was only at Zeroth Rank, and slowly pushed her away. He said in a calm and serious voice, looking sternly at Ingrid in front of him,
"Are you crazy?"
How vast the gap between the Mythical Rank and ordinary humans truly was, Fisher didn’t know, only occasionally experiencing the sudden realization of human fragility could describe such a disparity between heaven and earth.
Just now, when Ingrid was running towards him, Fisher almost instinctively lifted his hand to swat her away, but doing so would likely cause immediate bloodshed, and her life or death wouldn’t be guaranteed.
And now, even more so, Fisher asked with his head lowered, he immediately felt Ingrid before him tremble all over, under Fisher’s scrutiny, the hairs on her body stood upright, just like when she was near him, instinctively sensing the gap with the Mythical Species, desperately resisting contact and approaching Fisher.
But why, does she now have to do this?
Seeing this, Fisher couldn’t help but be slightly stunned, looking at Ingrid in front of him, trying to ascertain the answer, but saw that she, despite her terror, had switched back to a weak expression, tearfully saying,
"Hubby, what’s... what’s wrong?"
"You were about to say we..."
"Hubby, don’t say it, please don’t say it... I will listen afterward, so please don’t abandon me, okay?"
Just as Fisher wanted to open his mouth to ask, Ingrid’s face suddenly turned white, pleadingly glanced at Fisher.
She continued to inch closer to Fisher but seemed to inadvertently reveal her neck, which was hidden beneath the long veil of a Lady’s hat.
Fisher glanced down, only to see a strange circular symbol faintly glowing on her neck. The symbol held an aura of mystery, merely catching sight of it, Fisher seemed to simultaneously see a Fire Pillar shooting into the sky, followed by a bow and arrow soaring straight out from that Fire Pillar, until it filled his vision.
"Boom!"
The Arrow didn’t cause any harm; it carried a Whisper-like suddenness, bringing a name into Fisher’s mind...
"Barbatos"
The name appeared directly within his soul, unnoticed by those nearby.
But this wasn’t the most crucial thing. The key point was, when that Seal presented itself before him, within Fisher’s soul vision, he suddenly discovered an extremely similar Seal on his chest, matching the one on the back of Ingrid’s neck.
However, unlike her Seal, Fisher’s chest’s Seal seemed to be deeper in color, and the symbol more vivid, he wondered if the meaning was different. Moreover, his chest’s Seal seemed to have undergone a rough alteration.
The deeply colored, vividly symbolic Seal beneath the current one was directly erased, and the new Seal stood openly on the remnants of the erased Seal, exuding a strong aura of Chaos, asserting its presence. It also bore a name,
"Paimon"
Fisher’s heart raced; in just one second of reality time, he seemed to perceive many secrets never discovered by outsiders.
Paimon?
Helair?
When did she leave a Seal on me?
During the time at the Holy Land or at some point in the past?
And why leave a Seal on me?
Putting aside this question for now, just by seeing the Seal on Ingrid’s neck, Fisher roughly guessed that the Great Demon Barbatos had caught the intern reporter Ingrid.
In other words, her claim to be his wife for four years to enter the Dragon Court was something taught by those Demons, and as a Human, she had no choice but to follow this path.
But looking at it from another angle, given that Barbatos knew having her claim to be his wife would add trouble for him, this indicates they had a certain level of understanding of his situation.
As to why they would focus on him beforehand, Fisher felt it lacked logic; it could only be Helair with whom he had connections millions of years ago who might be interested, and coincidentally she isn’t a Demon, able to escape the imprisonment of the Mother Goddess...
Could it be that all this, including the Demon infiltration into Nali’s army, including the current troubles, are actually schemes of Helair?
Recalling Emhardt’s warning, despite his feelings for Helair, he couldn’t help but consider this possibility.
