Chapter 202: Chapter 202: Avian King

Meggie appeared within the domain of the Avian race, the Avians weren’t part of the supreme races.

However they were only a rank below them so they too were members of the High Council.

As rulers of the sky they naturally preferred high places to live in, Meggie was standing on a tall peak.

So tall it was hidden in the clouds, above her were floating islands connected by thick vines and roots.

That was the territory of the highest ranking clan amongst the Avian race, on the highest peak.

A cloud of miasma could be seen shrouding the entire Island, the temperature has dropped so low the vines around the island started freezing.

Lightning flashed around her, thick bolts cut through the clouds like spears making the temperature boil.

Yet not a single bolt managed to touch her, ’ I probably should’ve went searching for the seventh memory fragment first.’

She sighed and teleported appearing near the castle of the Avians, the castle was made of wood and vines.

It looked like a beautiful nest, almost like a well shaped cocoon instead of the famous palaces of other races.

In front of this palace was a corpse of a man with an eagle head and golden wings on his back.

Each feather on his wings gleamed like real gold, the wings were as hard as metal and the feathers as sharp as blades.

He was a member of the Golden Aurogle race, one of the royal clans alongside others like Aurowl and others.

Of course there was another clan much stronger than them but that clan counted as just themselves.

They refused to acknowledge the other Avian clans as one of their own, this was actually the only reason the Avians didn’t count as the one of the peak races.

Meggie watched as the others surrounded the corpse, others were crying while some glared it coldly.

Meggie didn’t care about any of them, with a sweep of her searching spell she concluded what she was looking for was not here anymore.

’It seems I was late again, this is the seventh key, five more to go before..’ her thoughts were interrupted by a powerful presence.

’ Damnit.’ she teleported but when she reappeared she found herself floating in the air.

There was no ground beneath her feet but there were floating islands of different sizes, the sky and the ground were an endless expanse of dark clouds churning with golden lightning.

All around her for as fast as the eye could see were tornadoes of wind and thunder some so vast they stretched for hundreds of kilometres.

’ A semi-divine realm.’ she recognised this as semi-divine realm of a demigod, she knew exactly who it belonged to.

" Lord Thorgle." She greeted in a respectful tone.

" He he he, to think even the dark witch knows my name, what an honour." She heard a loud deep voice.

A giant of a man standing nearly 30 metres tall with massive golden wings behind him appeared in front of her.

" Tell me lady Morgana, why have you come to my domain, without warning no less?" His question held a hint of a threat.

Meggie took a deep breath, ’ To think even somebody like him would dare talk to me in such a tone now.’

If she still had her power, very few demigods would dare talk to her in such a way and one of them was...

She looked up when she felt his aura press down on her, he was getting impatient and she knew it was time to answer.

Trapped in his Semi-divine realm, she didn’t dare to lie.

"When the virtuous weep in circles of twelve.

The keys shall be born from the wicked’s selves.

Twelve in all and the seal shall break.

The Bleeding Maiden from slumber shall wake."

Her words made the giant bird man frown which was a weird expression to see on a bird face.

" I see." His voice boomed through the entire realm drowning even the howling winds and roaring thunder.

" So, which key was my nephew?" He asked, Meggie understood now why this being took action.

He was probably watching personally since it was his nephew who was the victim of the grieved souls.

" Seventh." Meggie answered making his face twist even more.

" I suppose that is not good, once the first seal breaks, the others will follow like a domino.

So, I have but one question for you Lady Morgana." A heavy aura pressed on her shoulders.

Lightning bolts as thick as a full grown human fell around her like golden spears, the tornadoes twisted in her direction.

" What is your role in this? Was this your doing?" He asked threateningly and this time he was not hiding it.

Meggie shook her head, " I have to disappoint you king of the birds, I had nothing to do with this, not this time.

On the contrary, I have every intention to bring it to a stop, at any cost." Her answer suprised him.

" Strange, the events of that time are repeating as they always were, your spawn is the enemy of all that lives so why are your intentions different? What’s your game?"

Meggie’s eyes turned cold, " I was young and foolish back then, I’ve learnt much in that time.

I care not that you lot are after his life, none of you will succeed, that I’m sure of. It’s not you I fear, it’s what hidden beneath the final seal."

The Avian king froze, he was an old being, older than Morgana herself, as a demigod, he no longer aged.

Yet even with his tens of thousands of years, he was forced to admit this witch was more knowledgeable than he was.

He couldn’t understand what she was talking about, what exactly was it that this fearless girl feared.

However one thing he knew for certainty from his understanding of her, if she feared it, then he would do well to as well.

" I do not trust you dark witch, however you are not one knows for childish girls so I’ll let you go this once.

I hope you manage to block the seals from opening, or I sear, before the last seal opens, I’ll find that thing of yours and end it myself."

Meggie didn’t respond to his threat, she found here outside the domain of the Avians. 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺

She watched the mountain ranges stretching to the horizon then turned around and walked off.

Her body seemed to be slowly disappearing, ’ I need to find the other keys before she does.’ she thought to herself.
