Desolate Devouring Art
Chapter 1653 - Overbearing
Liu Wuxie had already scanned the area once with his divine sense, but too many restrictions had blocked him from probing further. Now that he drew closer, those same restrictions couldn't restrict Ghost Pupil, and his gaze pierced straight through them.
With a thunderous explosion, Liu Wuxie appeared before the castle gate and shattered it with a single palm strike. The commotion alarmed the experts within the castle, and countless figures rushed out from the shadows.
How many years had it been since anyone had dared to cause trouble at the gate of Blue Origin Star Planet Lord's residence? In the blink of an eye, hundreds of experts surrounded Liu Wuxie. The weakest were at the Earth Immortal Realm, while the strongest stood at the pinnacle of the Heaven Gaze Realm.
That alone showed that the Blue Origin Star’s Planet Lord wielded extraordinary influence, able to gather so many experts under his command.
"Who are you? And why have you intruded upon the planet lord's residence?" An elder at the higher level of the Heaven Gaze Realm stepped out. The aura he released surged like raging waves, crashing toward Liu Wuxie.
Liu Wuxie had not even bothered to disguise himself, yet these people still failed to recognize him. Then again, while most people across the Indigo Bamboo Astral Domain had heard his name, few had actually seen his true face. Even if they had known who he was, Blue Origin Star still wouldn't have feared him.
"Tell your planet lord to come out!" Liu Wuxie roared. His voice echoed through the entire castle, forming a powerful shockwave that forced everyone nearby several steps backward.
The elder flew into a rage. "Such arrogance! Do you think you can simply summon the planet lord?!"
Guest retainers of Blue Origin Star received enormous resources every day, so naturally, they wouldn't stand by while someone barged into the planet lord's residence.
"You have ten breaths to hand over Zhuo Zhiqiu and summon the planet lord. Otherwise, don't blame me for what comes next," Liu Wuxie declared, releasing a terrifying wave of murderous intent that enveloped the entire residence.
This event alarmed everyone in Blue Origin City, and experts rushed over from every direction.
"Who dared to intrude on the planet lord's residence?"
Many cultivators were nearby as they heard the commotion and hurried over.
A first-tier planet lord couldn't be shaken easily, unlike the lords of third-tier planets, whose positions changed constantly.
"That person looks a little familiar!" someone in the crowd said. Liu Wuxie had his back toward them, so they could only see his silhouette, not his face.
"Elder Shi, this brat is too arrogant. How dare a sixth-level Heaven Gaze Realm cultivator cause trouble at the planet lord's residence? Let me kill him!" A seventh-level Heaven Gaze Realm expert stepped out from the crowd and struck down at Liu Wuxie with his palm.
Old Man Shi, leading the defense, was the grand elder of the residence. He handled most matters within the residence.
"Ten breaths are up. Since that's the case, don't blame me for showing no mercy," Liu Wuxie said. He did not even bother to move when facing the attack from someone at the seventh-level Heaven Gaze Realm. Instead, he took one step forward and released a violent shockwave.
With a loud explosion, the attacking man froze in midair, completely immobilized by Liu Wuxie's aura. Then, with a single point of Liu Wuxie's finger, the expert at the seventh-level Heaven Gaze Realm exploded into a cloud of blood.
"It's Liu Wuxie!"
The cultivators gathered outside the castle finally recognized him, and none of them had expected him to appear on Blue Origin Star.
The moment they heard Liu Wuxie's name, the guest retainers in the castle staggered, including Elder Shi, who nearly collapsed flat to the ground.
The other elders trembled so badly that they could barely speak.
"L-Liu Wuxie!"
After all, Liu Wuxie's fearsome reputation had already spread throughout the four astral domains, especially after he had single-handedly slain eight quasi-immortals in the Outer Astral Spacetime. That feat alone was enough to chill anyone to the bone.
As Liu Wuxie slowly advanced, everyone around him instinctively stepped back, not daring to make another move.
"Young Master Liu, what brings you here to the planet lord's residence?" Elder Shi asked, his tone changing completely. Just moments ago, he had glared with open hostility, but now his face had turned instantly to a smile and flattery.
"I believe I already made myself clear. Get the planet lord and Zhuo Zhiqiu out here," Liu Wuxie said. He had not begun a massacre immediately, but if they dared to block his way, he would not hesitate to cut them down.
The crowd instantly parted, allowing Liu Wuxie to enter the castle and head straight toward the main hall.
"Young Master Liu, I'll send someone to inform the planet lord. Please rest in the main hall first," Elder Shi replied. He knew that once they offended Liu Wuxie, their lives would descend into a nightmare.
After entering the main hall, Liu Wuxie sat down and waited for roughly fifteen minutes before a man in his thirties strode in.
"Who's looking for me?" the man demanded the instant he entered the hall. He still had no idea that Liu Wuxie had forcibly entered the planet lord's residence.
"Young Master Liu, this is Zhuo Zhiqiu," Elder Shi introduced.
The moment Liu Wuxie's gaze landed on Zhuo Zhiqiu's face, the latter shuddered and avoided his gaze.
"Kneel!" Liu Wuxie waved his hand and forced Zhuo Zhiqiu down onto his knees before him.
Everyone in the hall was furious, yet not one of them dared to say a word. They could only grit their teeth in silence. Had anyone else barged into the residence like this, they would have swarmed forward and killed the intruder at once. But this intruder was Liu Wuxie.
There was a saying that people would rather offend immortals, deities, and buddhas than offend Liu Wuxie. If they offended immortals, they may still be allowed to repent. But if they offended Liu Wuxie, death was their only outcome.
"Elder Shi, kill him now!" Zhuo Zhiqiu shouted furiously. He still did not know Liu Wuxie's identity, and he barked at Elder Shi in rage.
Elder Shi could only smile bitterly. If he could, would he not have already dealt with Liu Wuxie?
As the moments slowly passed, a robust man appeared outside the main hall.
Everyone greeted the man the instant he stepped inside.
"Planet Lord!"
This man was Blue Origin Star's planet lord, Jiang Wenxuan. The moment he entered the main hall, he fixed his gaze on Liu Wuxie.
"Young Master Liu, your presence brings honor to my residence. Please forgive me for failing to welcome you properly," Jiang Wenxuan said, greeting Liu Wuxie warmly the moment he entered.
Yet only moments earlier, Liu Wuxie had clearly sensed a trace of murderous intent in Jiang Wenxuan's eyes. Jiang Wenxuan didn't fear the Heavenly Dragon Sect, but he clearly feared Liu Wuxie.
"Planet Lord Jiang, you've got quite the nerve to imprison my disciple," Liu Wuxie scolded as he looked at Jiang Wenxuan, who trembled slightly as a cold bead of sweat rolled down his forehead.
When Jiang Wenxuan had imprisoned Xiao Luo, Liu Wuxie had not yet gone to the Outer Astral Spacetime, and the slaughter of the eight quasi-immortals had not yet taken place.
"This is all a misunderstanding!" Jiang Wenxuan explained, waving his hand and making an excuse.
"A misunderstanding?" Liu Wuxie's smile only grew colder, sending a chill down Jiang Wenxuan's spine.
"I'll release your disciple immediately!" Jiang Wenxuan said as he wiped away the cold sweat. He had already sent someone to bring Xiao Luo out.
Zhuo Zhiqiu, still kneeling on the ground, began to tremble violently. Hadn't the planet lord told him that Liu Wuxie would die if he dared to come here? Why had his attitude changed so completely? He looked confused as he observed Jiang Wenxuan.
Roughly ten minutes later, Xiao Luo finally appeared in the main hall.
"Master!" Xiao Luo cried out as she rushed forward the instant she saw Liu Wuxie, bursting into tears.
Half a year had passed since they had last met, and Xiao Luo had already reached the eighth-level Heaven Gaze Realm, while Zhuo Zhiqiu was only at the seventh level. Even ordinary cultivators at the ninth-level Heaven Gaze Realm should not have been able to imprison Xiao Luo.
"Now that I'm here, I will avenge your grievance," Liu Wuxie said as he gently stroked Xiao Luo's head.
Xiao Luo stood beside Liu Wuxie and glared furiously at Zhuo Zhiqiu and Jiang Wenxuan.
"Master, he tried to violate me!" Xiao Luo said, pointing directly at Zhuo Zhiqiu. Only recently, Zhuo Zhiqiu had tried to molest her.
The moment those words fell, the murderous intent in Liu Wuxie's eyes surged violently, while Zhuo Zhiqiu began trembling so hard that a foul stench spread through the hall.
"Tell me everything you went through, and I will seek justice on your behalf," Liu Wuxie reassured her. He was in no hurry to kill. Instead, he let Xiao Luo recount everything first. He would not kill an innocent man, but he would not let a single guilty one escape either.
"Half a month ago, I came to Blue Origin Star to seek out Zhuo Zhiqiu and avenge my parents. But just as I was about to kill him, Jiang Wenxuan appeared and imprisoned me in the underground dungeons," Xiao Luo recounted.
Over the past few days, Zhuo Zhiqiu had repeatedly harassed Xiao Luo, but he had not dared to go any further because Jiang Wenxuan had been keeping him in check.
Jiang Wenxuan knew very well that Xiao Luo was Liu Wuxie's disciple, and the mere act of imprisoning her meant offending him. If he had allowed Zhuo Zhiqiu to defile her, Blue Origin Star would almost certainly face Liu Wuxie's wrath.
"Planet Lord Jiang, do you have anything else to say?" Liu Wuxie asked, looking at Jiang Wenxuan with a cruel smile.
Jiang Wenxuan's heart sank the moment he heard that question, and a strong sense of foreboding rose within him.
"Young Master Liu, I got muddle-headed and imprisoned your disciple. Please overlook this matter. I'm willing to offer one immortal stone and fifty million astral crystals as compensation," Jiang Wenxuan said. As a planet lord, he naturally understood when to bend and when to stand firm. He knew this was not the time to act stubbornly.
"Do you think I lack immortal stones?" Liu Wuxie sneered.
"This is only a small token of my sincerity, and I hope you can overlook this matter," Jiang Wenxuan negotiated. He naturally knew that Liu Wuxie had obtained the interspatial ring of an immortal in the Outer Astral Spacetime and that it contained large quantities of immortal stones.
"And did he show those innocent people mercy back then?" Liu Wuxie asked, pointing at Zhuo Zhiqiu.
Silence fell over the hall. Everyone knew very well what crimes Zhuo Zhiqiu had committed over the years, and he alone had already taken more than three hundred innocent lives.
An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. Those who killed couldn't beg for mercy in return.
For all the monstrous crimes Zhuo Zhiqiu had committed, Jiang Wenxuan had not only refused to punish him but had even dared to imprison Xiao Luo. How could Liu Wuxie possibly let the matter go?
"Liu Wuxie, don't push it! My Blue Origin Star is not a place where you can run wild," Jiang Wenxuan retorted. He had already exhausted every method to show goodwill, and if Liu Wuxie still insisted on pressing the matter, then he would not let anyone bully him either.
"You're right. I plan to deal with this matter today," Liu Wuxie declared as he rose to his feet and slowly walked toward Zhuo Zhiqiu.
"Planet Lord, save me!" Zhuo Zhiqiu cried in panic, begging Jiang Wenxuan to save him.
Jiang Wenxuan clenched his fists in fury, but he didn't act rashly as Liu Wuxie's aura surged.
"Xiao Luo, he's yours," Liu Wuxie said, leaving Zhuo Zhiqiu to Xiao Luo so that she could avenge her clan with her own hands.
At that instant, Jiang Wenxuan regretted everything so deeply that his insides twisted. He had imprisoned Xiao Luo ten days ago, while Liu Wuxie had slaughtered the eight quasi-immortals five days ago. If he had known that Liu Wuxie possessed the strength to kill quasi-immortals, he wouldn't have dared to imprison Xiao Luo.
