Chapter 1716: Chapter 1370: No Passage

Residential Cluster, East Side of Black Wogri · Central District.

A bunch of men with vicious eyes, holding all sorts of random weapons, were guarding the largest entrance to the central area.

They were puffing on cheap smokes while chatting idly.

"I just don’t get it. Why did Boss grab so many old, weak, sick, and crippled people, and he’s even personally doing the interrogations."

"What do you know? I heard this bunch is hiding some really valuable treasure."

"For real?"

"Absolutely. Otherwise you think Boss would work this hard? Who does shit that brings no benefit? Only pity is I heard the most important one escaped, Boss blew up over that."

"By the way, who are those people always around Boss? They don’t look ordinary. I even saw Boss treating them with mad respect before."

"That I don’t know. Things we shouldn’t ask, we don’t ask."

"True that!"

...

While they were talking, a commotion rose from outside, and then Su Mo showed up with Yan Gang and the others.

"You... who the hell are you?"

The guards instantly tensed up. Years of licking blood off the blade gave them a gut sense of danger—this group was bad news.

"Kill."

Su Mo calmly spat out a single word.

Tilo and the others instantly activated their V-type Mechanical Armor, drew their Light Blades, and charged forward at terrifying speed.

Crack!

Before the guards could even react, blood sprayed, and heads went flying.

In that moment, Tilo and the rest showed the ruthless side tempered in prison, slaughtering their way inward like madmen, the whole process like chopping vegetables.

The Blood Shark guards didn’t even have time to fight back before they were wiped out clean.

The two sides weren’t just on different levels in gear; their combat instincts weren’t even in the same league. It was like an adult beating on infants.

Donk, who was leading the way, watched the scene with his heart trembling. These people were terrifying.

It didn’t take long before Su Mo and the others broke into the interior.

In the very center stood a lavishly decorated building covering hundreds of mu, with a large number of underlings guarding its entrance.

"This is the place." 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶

Donk replied with absolute certainty.

"Do it."

Su Mo said cleanly and decisively.

Tilo and the rest surged forward. By now the Blood Shark guards had reacted too, raising their Beam Guns to fire at Tilo and the others while shouting.

"Enemy attack!"

Unfortunately, it was useless. Tilo and the others all activated their Energy Shields and simply charged in for the kill.

Ah~

Amid wave after wave of screams, bodies dropped one after another.

Su Mo didn’t go inside. He just stood quietly at the entrance.

Donk saw that Su Mo had no intention of going in and forced a fawning smile.

"Big bro, I already brought you to the spot. I can’t help much with the rest, so, uh... can I go now...?"

Su Mo raised his electronic bracelet and scanned Donk, directly transferring 10 billion Star Coins to him.

Donk stared at the notification popping up on his bracelet, his eyes almost bulging out.

"T-this much?"

"You earned it. You did well. If anyone gives you trouble because of this, just come find me."

Su Mo replied, very satisfied. He was really glad he hadn’t killed this guy Donk back then.

"O-okay, then I’ll be off."

Donk left, overjoyed.

Su Mo glanced around, unhurriedly dragged the corpses together into a pile like stacking sandbags, then sat on top, one leg crossed over the other, completely unconcerned about the ongoing explosions and screams from inside.

Roughly ten minutes later.

A man in V-type Mechanical Armor strode over with a murderous group of subordinates. The left half of his face was covered in hideous scars, with an electronic eye embedded in it.

This man was none other than Black Wogri’s administrator, Antoncade.

On the surface he held no formal post, but everyone knew he’d retired from the rank of Colonel in the Third Legion.

He was the Third Army Commander’s trusted confidant.

Antoncade’s eyelids twitched the moment he saw Su Mo blocking the way—he recognized him at a glance.

"Boss, that’s the guy who called himself a member of the Royal Order of Twelve Knights."

The subordinate next to him whispered cautiously.

"Shut up."

Antoncade snapped, then walked toward Su Mo.

He saluted Su Mo. "Lord Su Mo."

"And you are?"

Su Mo asked straight to the point.

"I’m Antoncade, the person in charge here. Your people are slaughtering everyone inside like crazy. That’s... not very appropriate, is it?"

Antoncade forced himself to speak.

It wasn’t that he wanted to help those Blood Shark bastards, but they did represent the Dinova Kingdom. If they all died on his turf, it’d be a headache.

"Oh? And what’s ’not appropriate’ about it?"

Su Mo stared at Antoncade and pressed him.

Antoncade felt an inexplicable, crushing pressure. He braced himself and replied.

"Whatever wrong they’ve done, this is still under my jurisdiction. How about you give me some face and hand them over? I promise I’ll give you a proper explanation."

"Yeah, it’s your territory. But look at how you’ve been ’managing’ it—letting scum like this slaughter people as they please? I haven’t even come after you for dereliction of duty yet. If you hadn’t finally stepped in at the end, we’d be having a very different conversation."

Su Mo shot back directly.

Antoncade was left speechless for a moment, his head pounding—he couldn’t afford to offend either side.

The Dinova Kingdom was powerful, sure, but Su Mo, as a newly promoted member of the Royal Order of Twelve Knights, was rumored to be anything but easy to push around.

"Lord Su Mo, we are indeed in the wrong on some points. But can’t you at least make an exception this once?"

"No."

Su Mo refused without a hint of hesitation.

Just then, an old man in a sumptuous cloud-collared robe rushed over with a squad of fully armed soldiers.

Looking closely, the Mechanical Armor on those soldiers all bore the emblem of the Dinova Kingdom.

As they charged up to the entrance, Su Mo said coldly,

"No passage."

"Courting death, you dare block us!"

The burly man beside the old fellow was about to explode, but the old man stopped him.

"Do not be rude!"

"If I’m not mistaken, you must be Lord Su Mo of the Royal Order of Twelve Knights."

The old man bowed respectfully to Su Mo.

"And who are you?"

Su Mo looked up at him coldly. He knew the real show had arrived.

"Allow me to introduce myself. I am Anthony, diplomatic envoy of the Dinova Kingdom."

Anthony introduced himself to Su Mo, suppressing his urgency.

"Oh? And what do you want?"

Su Mo replied flatly.

"Lord Su Mo, the people inside are ours. Could you ask your people to stay their hand for now?"

Anthony negotiated with Su Mo with utmost politeness.

"No."

"Lord Su Mo, this is a matter between our Kingdom and its enemies. Could you refrain from getting involved?"

"No. Now you want to talk reason with me and try to save face? Maybe you should’ve thought of that the moment I released Tilo and the others. From that point on, they were my people, under my protection. And you still dared lay a hand on them—did you ever put me in your eyes at all?"

Su Mo asked icily.

"You..."

Anthony was getting anxious too.

"Let me make this perfectly clear today. Since you gave me no face, I won’t be giving you any either. No one gets through here. Whoever tries, I kill. As for the fight inside, I won’t interfere. Life or death—that’s up to fate."

Su Mo said bluntly, without the slightest courtesy.
