Divine Beast Creator - Chapter 2248 - 2249: The Origin of the Enemy
"What is that thing? Why does it seem somewhat familiar to me, yet also a bit strange?"
Veronia looked at Feng Yuan with curiosity, while Feng Yuan, with a sullen face, gazed at the deep starry sky and the retreating Eclipse and Xilnaes heading to the next battlefield, and said,
"You find it familiar because it’s also a world, a... world that shouldn’t really exist."
"Hmm? I feel like I don’t understand."
Looking at Feng Yuan with confusion, Veronia sensed that he seemed angry. Why? What exactly happened?
"This is complicated to explain. Let’s handle the aftermath first. By the way, once we finish here, come with me to my dorm, and I’ll give you those things."
Sighing, Feng Yuan glanced at Liao Yu and said. Liao Yu nodded, looking at the chaotic street and said helplessly,
"I understand. This time, we really owe you. That thing won’t come back soon, will it?"
To be honest, although they drove that thing away in time, Liao Yu knew it was entirely due to Feng Yuan’s effort. His question stemmed from the worry that the strange entity might attack Maomu City continuously, which would be troublesome.
It’s important to know that Feng Yuan had already set up defensive protections around the buildings, yet this street still suffered considerable damage. Of course, Liao Yu was unaware of the conditions elsewhere; otherwise, he might just feel fortunate that Feng Yuan was here in Maomu City.
Because even powerful as Shenhua City, the area where they fought inevitably became ruins.
No choice, the battle on both sides was too intense. Even with Yimu Qingling stepping in, it could only limit the battle’s aftereffects to a certain range. As for replicating what Feng Yuan did in Maomu City, that was impossible. Shenhua City’s strength was formidable, but it did not have someone as powerful as Feng Yuan.
In Shenhua City, the White Wolf Deity and Yimu Qingling united to firmly press the Bronze Eye Tentacle and its backing existence against the Mirror Shard, but unfortunately, neither the White Wolf Deity nor Yimu Qingling could do anything to that bizarre Mirror Shard.
Although the Mirror Shard looked small and even had no energy reaction, neither the White Wolf Deity’s ultimate move nor Yimu Qingling’s could hit that seemingly colorful shard.
At that moment, the deep starry sky descended, and Eclipse and Xilnaes arrived; the Mirror Shard, which the White Wolf Deity and Yimu Qingling couldn’t handle, was effortlessly eliminated by them as if it were a mere pebble.
Not until the blue sky returned did the Beastmasters participating from Shenhua City regain their composure. They couldn’t help it; the changes from the White Wolf Deity’s appearance to the arrival of the mysterious starry sky happened too quickly for them to digest.
Captain Yang furrowed his brow; the appearance of the White Wolf Deity alone was astonishing, let alone that even the joint efforts of the White Wolf Deity and Yimu Qingling couldn’t handle that enemy.
It seems something major is about to happen.
Looking up at the azure sky, Captain Yang decided to find Feng Yuan. Although there was still much to handle in Shenhua City, he now needed to find out what the matter was!
Asking Yimu Qingling about it?
Captain Yang was sure that the beast wouldn’t know much more than they did. As for the White Wolf Deity, it might know something, but sadly, it had left the battlefield after the Mirror Shard was eliminated.
No matter what can be done, at the very least, Great Xia cannot remain in the dark.
Gazing at the ruins, Captain Yang thought silently that this sudden battle inflicted significant damage on Shenhua City, and he believed this matter could not be resolved simply. Therefore, understanding its cause was crucial.
Without knowing the truth, how could they prepare relevant contingency measures? Would they have to rely on the Divine Beasts to save them every time?
No! That’s impossible!
Humans cannot completely depend on them! It isn’t a matter of trust but rather necessity! Over-reliance on the Divine Beasts, Captain Yang believed, was not a good thing.
This anomaly, although quickly resolved with the efforts of various Divine Beasts and Yin World Guardians, everyone knew that this was only a temporary calm.
They merely pushed back the attacking enemy without solving the root problem. Once given the opportunity, those things would surely return. Yet, what puzzled many Divine Beasts was where these things originated from.
According to their perception, the Bronze Eye Tentacle, although strangely appearing, was not an Outer World entity. Therefore, the world itself wouldn’t intervene against it, as it indeed was a part of the world.
However, neither Lorraine Tower, Gitalien, nor the Netherworld’s Divine Beasts could figure out where it was hiding. Time, space, or the Netherworld provided no clues; those things seemed to have appeared out of thin air.
Evening came, and after finally dealing with his tasks, Feng Yuan returned to his dorm at the academy and collapsed onto the bed. Having exhausted significant effort dealing with that entity and handling the aftermath, Feng Yuan lay down without wanting to move.
Veronia floated in front of Feng Yuan, looking at him and said,
"Now, can you explain what that thing really is?"
Agunas stared at Feng Yuan, its tail swaying anxiously. It speculated that the thing likely related to that group of people, otherwise why couldn’t any of the Divine Beasts find its location or even a clue.
"I don’t know what it is either. Such a strange thing should be some kind of malicious biochemical experiment product, but I’m not entirely sure if it’s man-made or due to some accident."
"Do you know where it’s hiding?"
Agunas asked before Veronia could open her mouth, and Tamur swayed lightly and said,
"Parallel Space, right?"
Sitting up and looking at Tamur, Feng Yuan nodded and said,
"Yes, but this matter probably doesn’t concern you. Parallel Space has always existed; that entity just hasn’t emerged in the present world yet, after all..."
Shaking his head slightly, Feng Yuan stopped talking. The unique Parallel Space had existed for a long time but had never surfaced. Feng Yuan had guessed why before, but after understanding Tamur’s relationship with Parallel Space, he suspected it was related to Tamur.
After all, Tamur had never clarified what its true responsibilities were; with no modern-era Divine Beasts found by Feng Yuan, he could only suspect the appearance or not of Parallel Space was related to Tamur.
"Those things hiding in Parallel Space? But isn’t Parallel Space a special existence?"
Agunas looked at Tamur and Feng Yuan in surprise, never having imagined that terrifying thing would come from Parallel Space. Yet, if true, it’s easier to understand why Feng Yuan summoned Eclipse and Xilnaes.
While they were special Divine Beasts of the Yin World, they also represented the Yin World’s power and capabilities. The stubbornness of that thing likely tied to the very traits of Parallel Space itself.
It’s known from past Parallel Spaces they encountered that they exhibited similar game-like dungeon features. The enemies inside couldn’t be considered real life forms; indeed, if the rules allowed for it, those enemies could infinitely resurrect.
However, those special traits were limited to Parallel Space; Agunas never thought that entities from Parallel Space would breakout into the real world.
No! That’s not right!
Recalling the difference between the Parallel Space enemies and the Bronze Eye Tentacle, Agunas figured it might not be Parallel Space, at least the biological characteristics of both were completely different. Moreover, Parallel Space, as explained by Feng Yuan, should be like a game dungeon that existed only when activated.
"It shouldn’t be hiding in Parallel Space; at least, that thing doesn’t feel like an enemy from Parallel Space to me."
Veronia looked at Feng Yuan suspiciously. If it indeed were Parallel Space, why was that entity different from the previous enemies in Parallel Space? Without this discrepancy, they would have thought of Parallel Space.
"It’s indeed Parallel Space, but it is likely an element of Parallel Space outside Tamur’s control. As for why it doesn’t seem the same, that’s simple. The Parallel Spaces you previously saw were for trial uses; besides that, there’s another kind of special Parallel Space, which is... Parallel World."
Speaking slowly, Feng Yuan’s answer left Agunas and the others completely dumbfounded. They never expected to get this answer.
