Divine Beast Creator
Chapter 2274 - 2275: Her
"For those people, I think it’s best not to have direct contact for now. She gave me a key, and we should go find that person first."
After recounting the events he had learned, Feng Yuan spoke. Whether they save those descendants or not, they cannot stay in one place indefinitely. As for this area, according to the description, it’s just a replica.
The entire city, even the whole Parallel World, is merely a replica of that place of survival, and the places they passed through before were experimental grounds left by those people.
To make the Parallel World closer to the real world, they constructed numerous experimental grounds to test various things. As for the world rebooting, it was a unique method developed at that time specifically for the Parallel World.
Of course, Feng Yuan sees it more as the Yin World’s coverage restoring the real world. However, considering the extent of the rule insufficiency in the Parallel World, this perspective is not entirely unreasonable.
Feng Yuan also has some guesses about the dark regions, but now is not the time to discuss them. Before dealing with that group of people, Feng Yuan temporarily doesn’t plan to destroy this Parallel World.
If according to what she says, those people might truly be innocent, after all, they have neither blood on their hands nor have they enjoyed too many benefits.
The Parallel World simulates a Mythical Era that never disappeared. In that era, they did not enjoy privileges, and Feng Yuan sees being confined here as a form of redemption, even if the source of all sin wasn’t them.
Recalling that person’s request, Feng Yuan sighed. Who can truly distinguish right from wrong in all this? For them, the unfamiliar new era forces them to find ways to reclaim their familiar past.
Even if the Mythical Era wasn’t kind to them, it was nevertheless the era familiar to them.
"A key? That works. We still don’t understand this place well."
Veronia didn’t oppose Feng Yuan’s arrangement. In fact, they all know that in this operation, Feng Yuan is the main force since only he has the ability to resist this extremely formidable Parallel World.
Earlier when Qi Chen inquired, what Agunas didn’t say is that he could forcibly break through the Barrier, but the cost would be substantial. There’s no choice; the Parallel World, despite its flaws, isn’t something the current world can sustain. Likewise, this represents that the status of the Parallel World isn’t much lower than Agunas and the others.
Qiu Hanmo finds it odd why the Divine Beasts yielded the leadership, but considering the relationship of those Divine Beasts with Feng Yuan and their encounters along the way, he isn’t overly concerned. After all, this place is exceedingly strange, even for those Divine Beasts, there’s likely no good solution.
The so-called key is nothing more than a special disk. The Runes on it, even Feng Yuan can only understand part of them, which doesn’t surprise him. After all, this thing itself was gradually researched from the technology he left behind and the things found in the Yin World.
Following the usage method described, Feng Yuan activated the key, and a Crystal Staircase appeared before everyone. Stepping onto the Crystal Staircase, Feng Yuan said to Agunas and the others
"Protect them well. Qi Chen, stay on the back of the White Wolf Deity and don’t get down."
The Crystal Staircase is wide. Even the White Wolf Deity wasn’t worried about finding a place to stand. Perhaps due to the space-distorting nature of the Crystal Staircase, Feng Yuan didn’t feel he walked far before the surroundings changed.
Rainbow light like thin gauze enveloped the blue sky, below the Crystal Staircase was the illusory land, and at the other end, it led to the ancient forest.
The appearance of the Crystal Staircase may have startled the animals in the forest, predators began to gather in the area, but soon, the predators attracted began to fight amongst themselves, leaving the Crystal Staircase forgotten.
In the dense forest, an ancient Temple quietly hid deep within. Without the guiding light from the key, Feng Yuan and the others might not have found this place easily.
"This Parallel World is special, or rather, we are nearing their domain."
Casually dispatching an attacking predator, Feng Yuan turned back to Qi Chen and the others, noting this place differed from previous Parallel Worlds. Here, the creatures and plants were identical to the real world, or in this place, they indeed created a place similar to the real world.
However, Feng Yuan is puzzled about the distinction between that person and her. Is it the difference in Authority or status?
At least one thing is certain: those who could live in seclusion here are far more powerful than her.
"Strange place, it somewhat resembles a Temple, yet not quite."
Veronia remarked curiously looking at the vine-covered Temple. Temples existed in the Mythical Era, but what they worshiped were the Divine Beings of that era. Logically, those people shouldn’t favor such things since it was used by whom they despised and opposed.
Shaking his head, Feng Yuan said
"I don’t know, but the key indicates this place, so it should be correct."
"Careful!"
Agunas waved his book, the Power of Time condensed into a Barrier before Feng Yuan, as the gigantic figure wielding a massive axe tried to swing at them again.
"Recorder, Agunas?"
Before Feng Yuan could react, a soft voice sounded. A woman robed in white emerged gracefully from the Temple’s interior, her attention initially focused entirely on Agunas, leaving Feng Yuan unnoticed.
"Unexpected, even you... no, you have long perished. The you now is not you."
The woman murmured staring at Agunas, her face changing when she noticed Veronia beside her. Unlike the record keeper Agunas, the reputation of the Merciless Queen Veronia in the Mythical Era wasn’t too favorable, or perhaps, among the Divine Beasts of the era, there were few with pleasant reputations.
Of course, this speaks through outsiders’ perspectives. To the Mitradite people, Veronia was rather well-regarded.
Faced with her behavior, Feng Yuan felt anxious, given his peculiar identity, as to whether she’d unmask him? Feng Yuan didn’t doubt this.
Being knowledgeable about Agunas and the others naturally meant knowing him, especially since she, supposedly a protector, had deep understanding of the Mythical Era, it was impossible not to recognize the one who bestowed their initial powers.
Unexpectedly, the woman merely scanned Feng Yuan but didn’t reveal his identity.
This odd action puzzled Feng Yuan, but Qi Chen and the others didn’t find it significant since in their eyes, Feng Yuan could only be a descendant, it’s normal for the other side not to recognize him.
"Interesting, turns out it’s you. Unexpected to meet here in such a place."
Recognizing her, Veronia pondered and speaking coldly looked at her
"If I’m correct, you used that sinful ritual in the Mythical Era."
"What do you mean? Extending life or absorbing great strength?"
The woman showed no concern. She bore her sins undisturbed but was unaffected by them, adhering to her beliefs. She pursued only what she deemed right, and precisely for that, she didn’t align with those people, yet didn’t win her favor.
Unchanged, she’s remained unchanged for thousands of years.
"You’ve forgotten your original beliefs."
Veronia coldly replied, the woman snorted softly then with back turned to them said
"If you mean the ritual extending life, I need not harm the ordinary. Once stepping onto the battlefield, distinctions fade, enemies alone dictate. I hold no guilt over this nor offer redemption."
Turning back to Veronia, the woman peacefully declared
"Interestingly, if truly pursued, the war-driving you, aren’t you deeply sinful?"
Snorting softly, the woman said
"Your intentions, I understand, though uncontrolled, the outcome was preordained, you bring not destruction but the final hope."
"Wait here, I’ll accompany you to find them, for they must face this world... it’s time for it all to conclude."
Slowly closing her eyes, the woman facing away from them shed a crystalline tear, filled with sorrow yet devoid of regret, long understanding that the Parallel World they’ve desperately maintained would meet its destined end eventually.
