Chapter 291 - 290: Conspiracy
"Yes, Young Master!"
The eyes of the elderly man, who seemed like an ordinary old fellow, suddenly flashed with a sharp light. As if an enraged lion had awoken, he unleashed a terrifying Spiritual Pressure of the Spirit Sect Realm, his hands transforming into a pair of dreadful eagle claws as he lunged for Shu Feng.
The seemingly ordinary old man was a Spirit Sect Realm master, with Mastery of the Black Tortoise Realm’s Superior Martial Arts, the Great Strength Eagle Claw Technique. His claws could even tear through a heavy tank with ease.
A vicious look flashed in Zhu Hao’s eyes as he smirked coldly. "That guy is a dead man!"
In the Zhu Clan’s territory, Zhu Hao had a habit of forcibly seizing women. Plenty of people had tried to play the hero and save the damsels in distress, only to be torn to shreds by the old Spirit Sect Realm master behind him, Ah Fu.
"A mere Spirit Sect expert dares to attack me? You’re courting death!"
Shu Feng smirked coldly and channeled his Spiritual Power, unleashing a Great Sun Palm. Like a great sun, it radiated terrifyingly high temperatures as he struck out with his palm.
BAM!!
Ah Fu’s claws were instantly twisted and broken by Shu Feng’s palm strike, shattering an unknown number of bones. He was sent flying like a ragdoll, smashing violently against a nearby wall before spitting out a spray of blood and collapsing to the ground.
"Th-this is impossible! Ah Fu... he’s a Spirit Sect Realm master!!"
Zhu Hao trembled, dumbfounded. His eyes flickered with disbelief, and a flash of Fear crossed his face as his whole body shook.
"As we agreed, I’ll just have to break your three legs!"
Shu Feng’s right hand became like a blade. With a single chop, a terrifying blade gleam sliced through Zhu Hao’s legs, severing them completely.
"My legs!! My legs!!"
Having lost both legs, Zhu Hao immediately began rolling on the ground in excruciating Pain, screaming shrilly.
Shu Feng flicked his finger, and a gust of energy shot out, striking Zhu Hao’s Dantian and crippling his "third leg."
After all that, Shu Feng reached out, grabbed Ah Fu, and nonchalantly departed with Chen Xue.
’It worked! That waste of space, Zhu Hao, was so easy to use. It’s a shame such a useful pawn had to be spent on Shu Feng.’
The plain-looking young man who had been following Zhu Hao, but who had vanished at some point, reappeared. He walked over to Zhu Hao and looked down at him with a cold smile.
Zhu Hao’s face was ashen. He screamed in Pain, "Save me!! Zhang Keji, save me!!"
"In the end, Shu Feng still has some reservations about the Zhu Clan, so he didn’t kill you. But if you don’t die, how could your Zhu Clan possibly become his mortal enemy?"
Zhang Keji smiled faintly and snapped his fingers.
A mysterious ripple enveloped Zhu Hao, and the wounds on his body suddenly began to bleed profusely.
"No! No!!"
The whites of Zhu Hao’s eyes showed as he struggled frantically for a while before finally dying.
Once Zhu Hao was dead, Zhang Keji snapped his fingers again, and the several onlookers who had gathered around returned to their senses.
"Zhu Hao!! Zhu Hao, what a tragic death!!"
Zhang Keji’s eyes turned red. With a performance worthy of an Oscar-winning actor, he threw himself onto Zhu Hao’s body and began to sob loudly.
"What happened here?"
A squad of Heart of Steel Warriors arrived on the scene. A burly, resolute man named Meng Yi rushed over, his brow furrowed slightly as he asked.
Zhang Keji said with bloodshot eyes, "Shu Feng! Shu Feng, the Patriarch of the Yuanhai Shu Family, got into a conflict with Young Master Zhu! And Shu Feng... he brutally murdered him!"
Meng Yi frowned, a headache already forming. "A conflict between Noble Families?"
The Major Noble Families were in constant conflict with one another, and the Heart of Steel generally didn’t get involved in such matters. However, since this had happened in Holy Yuan City, Meng Yi had to at least send someone to investigate.
「In a coffee shop.」
Shu Feng asked curiously, "Chen Xue, what are you doing here?"
"My talent agency sent me here to prepare for a concert at the front lines, to boost morale and provide some entertainment for the Warriors. But I didn’t expect to run into Zhu Hao, and he latched onto me. Thank goodness you were here. Otherwise, I can’t imagine what would have happened."
Chen Xue’s face turned pale at the thought of what just happened. She trembled, her beautiful eyes filled with Fear. Making a living in the entertainment industry, she had naturally met many people who wanted to take advantage of her. However, her Chen Family had some influence, and she was one of the prodigies from Shuijing High School. Once producers and directors learned of her background, they would back off. This was the first time she had ever encountered a spoiled scion like Zhu Hao—so domineering, unreasonable, and willing to throw his weight around.
If she hadn’t coincidentally run into Shu Feng today, Chen Xue, the national idol of the Qianyuan Republic and a future singing superstar, might have become Zhu Hao’s plaything.
Shu Feng said, "The Zhu Clan is very powerful! Chen Xue, you should have your parents and relatives move to Lei Jiang City. I can protect them there."
Under the combined control of the Pitch-Black Hand, the Deep Red Eye, and Shu Feng’s other experts, Lei Jiang City had already become a terrifying den of devils, where countless powerful individuals had met their end.
Chen Xue said, "Okay!"
"I am Meng Yi of the Heart of Steel! Are you, by any chance, Shu Feng, the Patriarch of the Yuanhai Shu Family?"
Meng Yi and a squad of Heart of Steel Warriors flooded into the coffee shop and approached Shu Feng.
Shu Feng replied, "I am Shu Feng!"
Meng Yi asked, "Did you, a short while ago, murder Zhu Hao of the Zhu Clan inside the city and abduct his servant?"
Shu Feng looked surprised. "Zhu Hao is dead?"
Zhu Hao was a Spirit Master Level expert. Shu Feng had destroyed his two legs and his "third leg," but as long as Zhu Hao took some Spiritual Medicine, he definitely wouldn’t die. If the Zhu Clan was willing to use their Top Level resources, they could have fully healed all three of his legs.
In the struggles between Noble Families, severely injuring an opponent was quite normal. But killing them? That meant a blood feud. The Zhu Clan would absolutely not let this go.
Meng Yi said, "He’s dead!"
’There’s a plot!’ Shu Feng was very perceptive and immediately smelled a conspiracy. ’Someone wants to stir up trouble between me and the Zhu Clan! And they’ve already succeeded!’
The plot was very simple: use the life of Zhu Hao, that spoiled brat from the Zhu Clan, to provoke a conflict between the Zhu Clan and Shu Feng.
Shu Feng took out a phone, played a video, and said calmly, "This is a video of him ordering his man to attack me. I was acting in self-defense!"
Meng Yi watched it carefully for a moment before saying, "Please give me this video as evidence. I’ll return the phone after I’ve made a copy."
Shu Feng replied, "I’ve already made over a dozen copies. You can keep the phone."
’This guy is really cautious. His actions are flawless.’
Meng Yi muttered to himself, took the phone, and left with his men.
In conflicts between Noble Families, the three official Spiritualist organizations of the Qianyuan Republic would all remain neutral. Now that Meng Yi had evidence that Zhu Hao had struck first, he didn’t want to get involved any further.
If Shu Feng had been merely a child of the Lower Class, he would have already been taken into the Heart of Steel for investigation. This was the difference in status between the Lower Class and the Noble Families.
