Divine War Pill Emperor
Chapter 168: Who Gave You the Guts?
"COUGH COUGH, now that was satisfying."
Jiang Chen had just arrived with Xiaoba to see Qin Lie fanning away billowing dust with one hand, a gleeful smile on his face.
He seemed incredibly pleased with himself for causing such a mess.
The commotion had obviously attracted the attention of quite a few Senior Stewards in the Steward Hall.
When they saw that Qin Lie was the one responsible,
they all just shook their heads with wry smiles.
"It’s over. Steward Jiang is in Qin Lie’s sights now. Looks like he’s in for it."
"That Qin Lie is completely out of control. No one dares to mess with him."
The few Senior Stewards who had been about to step in and mediate simply shook their heads and left the Steward Hall instead.
They were too afraid of provoking Qin Lie.
Qin Lie’s status was simply too formidable for anyone to challenge.
Most people who found themselves in Qin Lie’s crosshairs just grit their teeth and endured it until he moved on.
"Steward Jiang’s here! He’s here!"
"He’s probably going to burst into tears when he sees this mess."
One after another, the Senior Stewards tried to warn Jiang Chen with their eyes.
They wanted to stop him from walking right into a direct confrontation with Qin Lie.
"Steward Jiang, don’t worry about it. What’s broken is broken. We can just have someone fix it all up."
"That’s right. That Qin Lie is just a spoiled brat. Don’t stoop to his level. He’s not worth provoking."
A few Stewards tried to placate Jiang Chen, whose eyes were practically shooting flames.
But Jiang Chen just waved them off.
"I know."
Despite his words, his face was like ice as he strode directly toward his room.
Meanwhile, Qin Lie, unable to bear the dust inside, had also stepped out.
He was rubbing his nose and grinning from ear to ear.
Suddenly, he saw Jiang Chen striding toward him, furious.
He immediately burst out laughing.
"Steward Jiang! I was just helping you clean up a bit."
"Take a look. Do you like it?"
He gestured toward Jiang Chen’s room.
Jiang Chen ignored Qin Lie for the moment. He craned his neck to look into the room and saw four powerful Martial Artists systematically smashing everything in sight.
It was already a total wreck. Not a single table or chair remained intact.
SMACK!
Without even setting foot inside, Jiang Chen pulled back and swung a vicious backhand at the nearby Qin Lie.
The blow landed squarely on Qin Lie’s face.
"Damn it, you’re asking to die."
He couldn’t help but curse, his anger boiling over.
Caught completely off guard, Qin Lie was sent spinning twice on the spot from the force of the slap, his head slamming into a wall.
He was completely stunned.
He couldn’t believe Jiang Chen had actually dared to hit him.
He was the one supposed to be causing trouble for Jiang Chen, yet he was the one who got slapped.
And in front of so many people, no less.
"Uh..."
"Oh my god! Steward Jiang hit Qin Lie!"
"It’s over, it’s all over! This is a disaster! Steward Jiang has really done it now."
"He hit Qin Lie. He’s in deep, deep trouble."
"You’re telling me? Qin Lie is Chairman Qin’s beloved son. Now that Jiang Chen has hit him, his days in the Alchemy Master Guild are numbered."
Everyone knew the consequences of provoking Qin Lie were severe.
And Jiang Chen hadn’t just provoked him—he’d walked right up and slapped him across the face.
There’s a saying about not hitting someone in the face, but Jiang Chen had aimed squarely for it.
Qin Lie still seemed unable to process what had just happened.
All he could feel was the fiery sting on his cheek.
Then, he shook his head sharply and glared at Jiang Chen.
His expression twisted into a ferocious snarl.
"Jiang Chen, do you have any idea who you are? In our Alchemy Master Guild, you’re nothing but a dog my father keeps."
"And you dare to hit me?"
"Go to hell!"
Losing all reason in his fury, Qin Lie lunged at Jiang Chen.
A cold glint flashed in Jiang Chen’s eyes.
"We’ll see who’s going to die today."
"A spoiled heir like you running into me... just accept your fate!"
With a contemptuous snort, Jiang Chen flipped his hand, and the Divine Wind Fan appeared in his grasp.
Seeing Jiang Chen about to strike, many of the Senior Stewards paled in alarm.
"Steward Jiang, stop!"
"Don’t do it!"
Who among them didn’t know how powerful that fan of Jiang Chen’s was? With a single wave, it had sent an expert like Xiao Gu, a Martial Master First Heaven, flying.
And Qin Lie was merely at the Warrior Eighth Layer Heaven.
But Jiang Chen completely ignored their pleas, letting their words go in one ear and out the other.
"Today, I’ll teach you a lesson on your father’s behalf."
Jiang Chen swung the fan forcefully.
An icy wind billowed out, instantly engulfing Qin Lie.
"This is..."
"What is this stuff?"
It was only within the frigid blast that Qin Lie suddenly came to his senses.
But it was too late. He could feel the chilling wind from Jiang Chen’s bizarre fan seeping into his body, a cold so deep his bones felt like they were freezing solid.
Even his thoughts grew sluggish.
His body flew backward uncontrollably.
THUD!
After flying twenty or thirty meters, Qin Lie crashed heavily onto the ground outside.
He landed like a stone.
Frozen solid by the Divine Wind Fan’s icy blast, he didn’t move an inch.
In that instant, everyone was stunned.
They stared at the scene in utter disbelief.
Jiang Chen’s actions were swift, decisive, and ruthless.
He had subdued Qin Lie in a single move.
His power was immense.
None of the Stewards present could have accomplished such a feat.
Every one of them now looked at Jiang Chen with profound wariness.
This was on top of the terrifying Alchemy Skill Jiang Chen had previously displayed.
In the Alchemy Master Guild, where Alchemists reigned supreme, a powerful Alchemy Skill was what mattered most.
But Jiang Chen didn’t pause for a second. In a flash, he leaped down from the second floor of the Steward Hall.
He landed beside Qin Lie.
Qin Lie’s body was still frozen by the icy wind.
He was shivering violently within a layer of frost.
Jiang Chen slapped Qin Lie’s body, and the frigid energy was instantly drawn back into the Divine Wind Fan.
With the chill dispelled, Jiang Chen hauled the now weakened Qin Lie to his feet.
SLAP! SLAP! SLAP!
He delivered a series of sharp slaps across his face.
"Who gave you the nerve to trash my room?"
Jiang Chen demanded.
That icy stare sent a chill through Qin Lie, who was now completely powerless to resist.
He trembled in fear.
Only now did he realize just how terrifying Jiang Chen was.
He hadn’t believed the rumors about Jiang Chen brutally killing Xiao Gu and Yang Tian.
But now, despite his Cultivation at the Warrior Eighth Layer Heaven, he was utterly helpless against him.
He was beginning to understand that Jiang Chen’s strangeness was beyond anything he could have imagined.
The thought of Jiang Chen’s bizarre killing methods sent a chill down his spine.
However, his father was Master Qin, the President of the Alchemist Guild.
This gave him a sliver of confidence.
He roared, "Jiang Chen, let me go!"
"Or you’ll regret this!"
SLAP! SLAP!
A few more slaps struck Qin Lie’s face, leaving him dizzy and disoriented.
Jiang Chen snarled, "Who gave you the nerve to trash my room?"
"I don’t care if your father is the Celestial King himself. I can still crush you as easily as an ant."
He was furious. An enraged Jiang Chen was a terrifying sight.
Not only had Qin Lie trashed his room, but he had also hurt Xiaoba. Jiang Chen was not known for his good temper.
He continued to punish Qin Lie mercilessly.
As Jiang Chen continued to beat him, Qin Lie’s head began to ring again.
He screamed again and again.
It felt as if his very soul was being beaten out of his body.
Although some people tried to intervene, Jiang Chen was unmoved. He wasn’t about to give anyone face.
Qin Lie suddenly let out a desperate roar.
"Mad Dragon, save me!"
Inside the room, Mad Dragon and the others, still gleefully smashing things, suddenly heard their young master’s screams and cries for help from outside.
They scrambled out of the room in a hurry.
