Divorce, Please: The Young Master Does Not Love Me
Chapter 324: Unsettled Love (24)
Ever since Mika Summers got in the car, Tristan Grayson’s thoughts were completely consumed by her.
He wanted to ask who that man from before was. He wanted to know what their relationship was.
But he had no right to ask. Perhaps, even if he did, the answer would only bring him more pain and heartbreak...
The atmosphere in the car was exceptionally tense, and both of them were lost in their own thoughts.
Her eyes, filled with a storm of emotions, gazed out the car window. She wasn’t ready for this. The mere thought of seeing Kiki so soon made her terrified...
’What if Kiki doesn’t like me?’
’And what if Kiki refuses to forgive me?’
’What should be the first thing I say to him?’
Her heart pounded with anxiety as they arrived at the Grayson family’s villa.
Looking at the familiar house ahead, a wave of panic washed over her. She fought to compose herself and said coldly, "I’m not going in. Bring Kiki out to meet me."
Tristan Grayson’s lips twisted into a wry smile. He opened the car door, got out, and walked toward the villa.
Mika Summers watched Tristan walk. There seemed to be something wrong with his foot; he was limping. Her brow furrowed. ’She remembered the hotel, when Tristan jumped from the second-story balcony. He’d been secured by a rope, but thanks to her ’special arrangements,’ there hadn’t been any mats on the ground to break his fall. He jumped twice... Did he injure his foot?’
Thinking of this, she couldn’t help but sneer. ’Mika Summers, so what if he hurt his foot? He deserved it.’
Tristan Grayson went back inside, took a quick shower, and changed his clothes before coming out with Kiki in his arms.
He was already aching, and the shower had only made it worse. Combined with his injured foot, the pain had drained all the color from Tristan Grayson’s face, leaving it deathly pale.
When Mika Summers saw Tristan emerge with Kiki in his arms, her hands clenched into tight fists, and her eyes began to well up.
Tristan Grayson opened the car door and placed Kiki in the back seat.
He, on the other hand, got into the driver’s seat.
Kiki tilted his little head, looking at her with curiosity.
No matter how well she had feigned composure, how strong her facade had been, the moment Kiki sat beside her, it all crumbled.
Tears streamed down her face. She reached out to caress Kiki’s cheek and said with a choked smile, "Kiki, can Mommy give you a hug?"
Kiki didn’t know what to make of this strange lady, but seeing her cry, he didn’t have the heart to refuse. He could only nod.
Mika Summers lifted Kiki from the seat and settled him onto her lap. She looked down at him, tears streaming relentlessly down her cheeks.
"Lady, are you crying?" Kiki asked, raising a small hand to touch her eyes.
Hearing him call her ’Lady,’ a pained look crossed Mika Summers’s face. She shook her head slightly, forcing a smile. "Mommy isn’t crying. Mommy is just... happy to see Kiki."
’Happy?’
"Kiki, will you come stay with Mommy tonight?"
"No." Kiki had been sitting quietly on Mika Summers’s lap, but at her words, he pushed her away forcefully. He scrambled off her lap, looked toward Tristan in the front seat, and said angrily, "Daddy, do you not want me anymore? Why did you bring this strange lady here!"
’Strange lady?’ Kiki’s words made Mika’s heart drop, and her face grew even more pained.
"Kiki, that’s enough! She’s your mother. You will call her Mommy," Tristan snapped, not having expected such a reaction from his son.
"She is not! I don’t have a mother!"
