Divorce, Please: The Young Master Does Not Love Me
Chapter 342: A Displaced Love
Eleanor Bishop was crossing the street when a car suddenly sped past right in front of her.
Startled, she quickly looked up. When she saw the man inside the car, her face instantly turned deathly pale.
The man, as if he hadn’t seen her, kept his head down, looking at the documents in his hand.
Eleanor Bishop felt her legs go weak, unable to take another step. That was the man she had thought about for more than two years.
But it seemed he had long since forgotten her.
The light turned green, and the street instantly erupted with the blare of car horns.
She felt the world spin, and her vision went black.
Then, she felt her entire body pitching forward...
Through the rearview mirror, Howard Rhodes saw the woman collapse onto the street. He frowned, then said in a low voice, "Boss, it looks like Miss Bishop fainted!"
Hearing this, Archie Lockwood snapped his head up, his hand tightening around the documents. "Go back!"
"Yes, sir."
By the time the car got back to the intersection, other vehicles had already stopped, and people were starting to call the police.
With a grim expression, Archie Lockwood tossed the documents onto the seat, opened the car door, and walked toward the woman.
He bent down, scooped the woman into his arms, grabbed her handbag from the ground, and got back in the car.
Back in the car, he didn’t place her on the seat but kept her held tightly in his arms. He gazed at her pale face, his own handsome features twisting into a displeased frown as an image of their first meeting flashed through his mind.
Back then, she had been confident, beautiful, and poised, exuding the grace of a high-society lady with every move.
But somewhere along the way, this woman had completely changed.
Every time she saw him now, all he got from her was fear and, more often than not, lies.
She always used lies to cover her mistakes and completely ignored whatever he said.
For the sake of their child, he forgave her time and time again, but she just deceived and betrayed him again and again.
’A woman like this... how could he possibly forgive her again...?’
Thinking of all this, Archie Lockwood’s gaze darkened. He turned his head away, refusing to look at her again.
After taking the woman to the hospital and arranging for Louise Jordan to stay and watch over her, Archie Lockwood left with Howard Rhodes.
Having decided to ruthlessly sever all ties and never forgive her, he knew he could not give her any more chances to get close to him.
Archie Lockwood raised a hand, fiddling with his watch, the emotion in his eyes unreadable. "Have Mom and Dad been picked up yet?"
"I’ve already sent people to get them," Howard Rhodes replied in a cold voice, his head lowered.
"Mm. If they refuse to come home, tell them Mika is back." ’Ever since the day he decided to return to the Lockwood Family, he knew that from now on, he could never be Archie Summers again. And the Summers Family could no longer be his family. He used to run from this, from the fact that his adoptive mother was Una Sullivan. But now that he’d returned to the Lockwood Family, he couldn’t run anymore. To do so would be the ultimate betrayal of his birth mother. Even though Una Sullivan had saved his life and raised him for over twenty years, that still couldn’t change her relationship with Yuna Sullivan.’
"Yes, sir."

「Sovereign Group, CEO’s Office.」
Mika Summers had just entered the office when she saw the man sitting behind the desk.
The man looked awful, his eyes red-rimmed as he looked up at her. "So you finally decided to come back?"
"Silas Kent, it’s first thing in the morning. Don’t be ridiculous. I don’t have time to argue with you," Mika Summers said coldly as she walked over and casually tossed her bag on the desk.
