Divorce, Please: The Young Master Does Not Love Me
Chapter 377: Unsettled Love (77)
Tristan Grayson’s eyes darkened as he considered it for a moment, then he replied coldly, "Mm."
"Tristan," Ian Shaw began, looking at Tristan Grayson as something came to mind, "after last night’s falling out with the Joyce Family, they’ll definitely refuse any and all cooperation with us. If you want me to, I’ll figure out a way to win that contract." 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢
"Ian Shaw, I’ve already made my decision. There’s no need to cooperate with them any further."
"Tristan, maybe things aren’t as bad as you think. I can tell that the Joyce family’s daughter, she’s..."
Tristan Grayson’s expression hardened as he cut him off coldly. "Ian Shaw, LK Group became number one in Tridell without the Joyce Family’s cooperation before. I’m confident we can do it again."
Ian Shaw fell silent, a complex look in his eyes as he watched Tristan Grayson.
’He had a point, but it was always better to have another friend than another enemy.’
"Right now, there’s something more important. I’m going to take back LK Group!"
At these words, Ian Shaw lifted his hands and draped them over the back of the sofa. Leaning back, he looked at Tristan Grayson with a roguish smile.
’It seems that woman’s return means the old Tristan Grayson is coming back as well.’
"Daddy." Just then, the door was pushed open, and a soft, childish voice called out.
At the sound, Tristan Grayson looked up to see Mika Summers had arrived with Kiki.
His eyes filled with surprise; he clearly hadn’t expected Mika Summers to be here. Suppressing his emotions with great effort, he asked in a low, cold voice, "Kiki, why are you here?"
Kiki let go of Mika Summers’s hand and walked over to Tristan Grayson. He tugged on Tristan’s clothes and said, "Daddy, I need to tell you something."
"What is it?" Tristan Grayson asked, picking Kiki up from the floor with a doting smile.
Kiki glanced nervously at Mika Summers, then leaned close to Tristan Grayson’s shoulder and whispered, "I have to tell you secretly."
Tristan Grayson furrowed his brow, looking down in confusion at Kiki’s earnest expression.
"Please?" Kiki asked again, pouting when he saw Tristan Grayson hesitate.
Tristan Grayson gave a resigned nod. "Alright. Let’s go into the lounge to talk."
"Okay."
Watching Tristan Grayson carry Kiki into the lounge, Mika Summers felt a pang of disappointment. ’Kiki had never warmed up to her...’
She gave a self-mocking smile and turned to leave.
Seeing Mika Summers about to leave, Ian Shaw stood up and called out coldly, "Leaving so soon, Miss Summers?"
"Yes. And you are?" Mika Summers turned at the sound of his voice, raising a questioning eyebrow.
"I’m a good friend of Tristan’s. Ian Shaw."
The moment she heard he was Tristan Grayson’s friend, Mika Summers’s expression frosted over. "Mr. Shaw," she said coldly.
"You’ve really changed, Miss Summers. A far cry from three years ago." Ian Shaw’s lips curled in a mocking smile as he took in her dazzling appearance.
"Three years ago? You know me?" Mika Summers was taken aback by his words.
"Of course. Three years ago, when you were kidnapped, Miss Summers, Tristan sent me to rescue you. I had the privilege of seeing you then, though unfortunately, you’d already been shot and were unconscious."
Hearing his words, the color drained from Mika Summers’s face. If there were any memories she wanted to avoid, they were the kidnapping and the incident on the hospital rooftop.
For a time, those two events had been inescapable nightmares for her.
Mika Summers’s lips twisted into a self-deprecating smirk. "If you’re the one who saved me, Mr. Shaw," she said sharply, "then you have my thanks."
"You’ve misunderstood, Miss Summers. I wasn’t the one who saved you. Tristan was."
"Him?" ’How could he possibly have saved me?’
"Did you not know, Miss Summers? Or did you think you managed to survive and be standing here today all on your own luck?"
